LIVE walk. Will the bunnies be out in the rain?

In this 45‑minute live stream, Jason Nicholas walks through a rainy New Jersey park while answering his recurring question, “Will the bunnies be out in the rain?” He narrates the walk, points out flora, a deer sighting, and the lack of rabbit activity, while engaging with chat participants (Maddie, Jen, Edie, etc.). Throughout the stream he reflects on the value of exercise, fresh air, and stepping out of his comfort zone after a period of intensive architectural work. He intersperses humor, puns, and personal anecdotes (e.g., missing teaching jokes, fireworks anxiety for his dog) and promotes his upcoming evening live‑sketch session of the Eiffel Tower. The stream ends with a summary of observations (0 bunnies, 1 deer), a reminder to like/subscribe, and an invitation to the 9 PM sketching stream.

Good life. Hope you're having an awesome day. I'm out walking in the rain. Why? A couple of things. One, um, I need my exercise. I've been inside all day and I need some fresh air. So that's number one. Number two, more importantly, I want to answer this question: will the bunnies be out in the rain? So every night I've been doing this walk, I've been— bunny sightings, and I don't know if we'll see any out in the rain. So let's check this out. We'll go on a little, uh, bunny-finding adventure. I hope you You are having a great day. All right, let's just take a walk down the path here. Usually by now I would have spotted one or two, but nothing yet. I love the rain. I love walking in the rain. It's just something so invigorating for me. I don't know, it's— I love the sound of it, um, the feel of it. It's just fun being outside, getting some fresh air on a rainy day. And an umbrella helps too, of course. But no bunny sightings yet. I want to see at least one cuz that would make me really hoppy. Yeah, I just did that. I said hoppy. I miss teaching in school right now because, uh, the dad jokes are just not readily available because I have no one to really say them to. Check out this cool flower here. I don't know what this is. Some kind of cool grass growing. Do you like to walk outside on a rainy day? Let me know. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love spring and beautiful sunshine and all that, but rain is just a good way to mix things up a little bit, kind of wash away the grime. New Beginnings. But I am not seeing my friends here. Oh, usually I see them on the left-hand side. Edie, good to see you. I hope you're doing well. We are out looking for bunnies in the rain. I also love seeing where the rain— where the rain paths are. It's kind of fun to see like how they make their own little streams. That's okay, you don't have to like the rain. But I'm, I'm digging these purple— I'm going to call them flowers. They're probably just— I guess they're wildflowers. I say purple, they're blue. Maddie, hi, how are you? Good to see you. Hope you're having an awesome day. I guess the bunnies don't like the rain. I'm so sad. So, so far, you know, um, I've— the most I've seen in one walk has been 10. I've seen 7 a couple times, 8. Um, I would say 2, 3 is not uncommon. They're usually on the left-hand side over here. It's kind of why I'm panning the camera that way. Maddie, thanks for saying hi back. Awesome. Hey, if you guys are like liking this, just hit that thumbs up button for me. I like to go live when I'm walking or hiking and sketching. I love sketching architecture live from my home studio, also, uh, out and about New York City. So be sure to give me a thumbs up and subscribe if you want to see more of this. This— these kind of podcasts— not a podcast, I turn them into podcasts— but these live streams really are just about me simply being human. Not practicing, not preparing, just being myself, talking and walking and searching for the elusive rainy day rabbit. Dang, this is usually the jackpot area. Maddie says me too. All right guys, we're going to Yeah, come out, bunny bunny. All right, since we're bunny spotting and not being so successful yet, we'll keep walking. I'll just do kind of a riff and we'll just talk about whatever. Um, uh, cool. We'll do a little hike and Mike here. This is where I guess someone dumps grass clippings here that maybe the county does. We've got a nasty kind of puddle of grass juice. I don't know what you call that, but it smells pretty bad, and the mosquitoes I like this area, so I'm going to move out. Um, bunnies usually like to be over here, or sometimes I see them on top of the rocks. Maddie likes sketching. That's cool, Maddie. What kind of stuff? I am out. I live in the Garden State, New Jersey. Edie, Independence Day was, um, I was— it was independent. We didn't do anything fun. We didn't go to any parties. We didn't go I think we just— if I remember, we just stayed home. Um, I was really concerned about my pup because she hates the sound of fireworks, and I can't blame her. So, uh, wasn't too bad actually, but it was just a chill, chill day. So thanks for asking. Um, I saw some pictures from New York City and the fireworks there and then the ships sailing in the— I guess it was the Hudson or East River. I'm not sure where, but I saw lots of pictures of that. So that looked like a really cool event. Didn't make it there though. All right, we're going to go up to Middle Earth. So I call this area Bunny Alley. This is Bunny Alley. And we have a zero rabbit sighting, but we're gonna go up to Middle Earth, and I do see bunnies here once in a while up on this level. So let's go up as we trek on our journey. Should I do this like a nature show, guys? What do you think? Like, all right, we're gonna go up. We're gonna go up to Middle Earth here and see if we can find any bunnies. I don't know what we'll encounter, if any, but it doesn't matter. We're out getting fresh air, and fresh air is brilliant. And exercise, can't forget the exercise. All right, we're coming up to Middle Earth. Let's see, I know where I usually see them. Fingers crossed. Maybe I should be carrying my lucky rabbit's foot with me. No rainy day rabbits yet. Bye, Maddie, thank you for joining. Tularmaria Terrace. No, no, we are not going to pet any rabbits or get bit by any rabbits today. All right, let's see, usually over here around the bend. All right, we're gonna go around the bend, up the hill, and we'll probably end the stream. Uh, so a little Hiking Mike. I don't know, I'd never planned these, which is why they're fun. I've been locked in. I've been so locked in, busy working. I have to— I haven't taken I have not taken a day off since school has ended. I've been working every day and weekends, um, on some architecture projects. So I'm blessed to have some projects this summer while school's out. Um, always nice to have, uh, the experience, right? I just love the architecture world, and having some projects is awesome, but I do need to take a break at some point. And maybe we'll riff on that. I think sometimes it's so easy to get stuck doing the same thing over and over and over and over, and it could be because it's something you love, which is fine, but I still think we need to change pace, change our gears, do things a little differently once in a while just to mix it up. So, you know, taking these outdoor walks, like even on a rainy day, it's just a great way for me to interrupt the pattern I've had of just work, work, work. Um, it started at 6 AM, pretty much the whole day besides making dinner, now being outside. So it's good to get up, for me to get up, move around when I'm sitting at a computer all day. Um, I used to have a stand-up desk. I, I'm actually— I still have one. Well, it's not a desk, but it's my kind of file cabinets. Anyway, I could do that, but my body is so used to being in school and moving around for 8 hours a day because I rarely sit down at school. Oh, there's a deer, guys! Look! Oh, we just had a deer sighting. I don't know if you saw the deer, but yeah, just sometimes we need just to get out, just change our state of being, state of our location. And I say this a lot, and it just rings true. For who I am as a person. It's a great way just to refuel the soul, reinvigorate the spirit, rejuvenate my creativity, and just get the exercise going. All right, let's see. Hey Jen, are you in the house? Good to see you. Jen's in the house. Good to see you. Long time. I hope you're doing well, my friend. People sometimes say if leave your comfort zone in order to have a worth— a life worth living. Yeah, no, being comfortable is, is okay. I get it. Um, I think it depends on the person and their nature, so I love comfiness. I love my naps. But I think as a— for me personally, my nature is a person or a being that wants to grow in different ways. And for me, you know, that, that drive to grow, whether it's mentally, physically, spiritually, creatively, it doesn't matter. That's that drive for me to grow is why I think I like different environments to push myself out of a comfort zone. Yeah, I've been to this park many times, but walking out here on a rainy day getting soaking wet, that's a little out of my comfort zone. But I mean, going to New York City, it's out of my comfort zone coming from a small town and going to a big city. You know, every time I go to the city, I'm a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm stretching myself. I'm growing. In different ways. So I agree with you, there's nothing wrong with being comfortable, but all depends on the person, right? My, my nature is just one of curiosity and wanting to grow. I love that point though. Love it, love it. Ciao, good to see you. Again, I am walking without a gimbal, guys. I say that all the time. I have one, I can't livestream with it though. I need Jason Nicholas' permission about that. Um, well, I can, but it doesn't always work. But I definitely don't want to bring it in the rain. Let's go back up the hill. No bunny sightings, but we had one deer. So if you're keeping score at home, on your nature walk scoreboard. Let's put a check mark in the deer column. So we have 1 deer, 0 bunnies, if you're keeping tally at home. And you should keep the scorecard, scorecard or scoreboard for the entire summer. We'll see who wins, deer versus bunnies. Here's the thinking bench. I love this, this tree here and this bench. Definitely not going to sit on it today. I call it the thinking bench, although I rarely sit on it. I usually, I do my thinking while I'm walking. But here's the thinking batches. It's all wet. Jen is showing us the bunny emojis. I love that. You know, emojis always make me hoppy. Get it? Hoppy. I think I used a pun already today. Wow. The limbs here are so watered down, I can't really go under there. I have to go around the thinking tree. Guys, if you like this, give me a thumbs up. Today is what? Say Monday. Today is Monday, so, um, I will be livestream sketching later. Tonight, 9:00 PM-ish. I don't know what we'll be sketching, but we'll sketch something. All right, all right, we're going to head back down to Middle Earth. No, see if there's any more bunny sightings. We're going to go down to Middle Earth and out Bunny Alley, and fingers crossed we get at least one delightful sighting. Bunnies can be delightful, right? What else is delightful? That might be your bedtime. No worries, it's all good. And you guys know me, sometimes I don't pop on, sometimes I do. I'm erratic, which is not, not good for viewership. I love this stand of, um, these white birch trees. These are my favorite trees. You have two little standings here. I just love them so much. They seem to be pretty fragile though. They, they don't Around here they're doing pretty good, but by my house they tend to fall over pretty easily. I have one in my backyard that is going strong, fingers crossed. We've been having wicked rain and winds the past few days. Here's another stand of those trees. All right, let's get back to bunny mode. We're going to go around the corner, see if we could spot any more. Well, spot at least one. We haven't seen any bunnies today. Yeah, pardon me, I'm— I don't do a good, like, Steve Irwin accent. What an amazing person he was, huh? Crazy. What a brave person he was. Oh, My umbrella, my umbrella got caught in a tree. Oh, look, my umbrella, my umbrella is fishing for trees apparently. All right, back to Middle Earth, and we're going to go back down to Bunny Alley and head out. All right, no luck here. My feet are sopping wet. I think I'm going to go home and have some hot chocolate, but I don't, I don't think I have any hot chocolate home. Let's listen to the rain for a minute, guys. Do you guys love that sound as much as I do? I just love the sound of rain. I'm a big fan of using, um, soundscapes, especially for focusing or sleeping. So I love listening to thunderstorm soundscapes or just rain soundscapes. It's just something really peaceful for me about that. Straight now, going to go down here. Duck! Let's go! We might get past the trees. All right, bunny alley straight ahead. Let's see if there's any more— see if there are any. I keep saying more because I've been so spoiled. Do you ever take anything for granted in your life? Like, I was almost positive I would see bunnies today, but you know what, sometimes not seeing things makes you appreciate them a little bit more. All right, not going to walk all the way down there. We'll just kind of pan. Usually good at spotting them. All right, we'll head back this way. Yeah, sometimes, uh, I'm learning that, you know, not seeing my four-footed— wait, the bunnies have four feet? What do you call four paws? I never know what to call them. Well, I don't even know what I was going to say. I guess I was going to say something that was not important. Hey guys, if you like this video, feel free to hit that like button. Subscribe if you like these hikes and mics or walks and talks. Or you want to see some sketching, architectural sketching, join me tonight, 9:00 PM, here for some NYC-inspired architectural sketching. Um, I'm not in NYC right now. I wish I was, but yeah. All right, so far, scoreboard reads 1 deer, 0, 0 bunnies. I'm getting hopeful. Oh no, I gotta cross this dangerous river. You guys think I can cross this safely? Yes, a lucky charm is called a rabbit's foot. So I guess they're called feet. Oh yeah, that makes sense. All right, mates, I've got a dangerous river here. You see it? I gotta cross to the other side. You think I can make it? It's really flowing. Look, I'll get close. Let's get a sneak peek here. Alright, I'm gonna be brave and cross this river. You know, sometimes in life we just got to take risks. You know, if I stay on this side, I'm gonna be in— well, on this side. But if I cross over this river right here, I'll be on the other side. And you know what? We might find some new adventurers. Adventurers. I just made a word up. I can't talk like that. All right, here we go. We're crossing the river. We made it! Look, we're unscathed other than getting bit by mosquitoes. All right, over here in the brush is where the bunnies usually like to hang out. Whoa, I got a record 4 thumbs up! Yes, thank you for the thumbs up, thumbs up people, I appreciate it. Let me know in the comments Do you enjoy this chill kind of walk? Do you enjoy being out in nature? Do you enjoy me living on the edge and crossing? I'm actually walking in the river right now. I'm always up for opinions and feedback. Oh, the mosquitoes are coming out like crazy. I'm getting bit. All right, let's be quiet for a minute. Listen to the rain. Well, my friend, our journey is about to come to an end here tonight on our quest to answer the ultimate question: will the bunnies be out in the rain? And my findings are— well, I'm just going to keep dangling that carrot out there as I wrap this up, build that suspense. Well, I think on today's hair-raising walk, there's only one conclusion that I can make, and that, my friend, is that the bunnies are not going to be out in the rain. And that's okay because we still got to spend time together, get some fresh air, do a little walk and talk, hike and mic, and just be curious as we wander the natural landscape. Can you sketch the Eiffel Tower? Jen says, can I sketch the Eiffel Tower? Oh, you know what, Jen, we can give it a shot. Let's do it. Let's try catching the Eiffel Tower tonight. So I will— that is my goal. We'll sketch— we'll just get to an Eiffel Tower sketch. I've only sketched it a couple times, so it would be fun to try again. Again, when I sketch, it's not about perfection, it's about imperfection, but just getting stuff onto paper. Like the suggestion, so Eiffel Tower, we'll even— we'll attempt the Eiffel Tower tonight. All right guys, until we meet again, sketch boldly, live creatively, and get away from these mosquitoes because they're getting nasty. All right, check me out later around 9 PM for some live stream sketching. Thank you. I'm looking for that sign off button. Edie, great seeing you live in the chat there. Jen, great to see you live in the chat as well. And we had someone named Maddie joining us, someone new. Maddie, thank you for commenting. And if I missed anybody, I'm so sorry.
