Monday Night Sketching : 2026-04-20

In this 90‑minute live stream, artist Jason Nicholas (the Inkspired Life) welcomes viewers to a Monday night sketching session, emphasizing his philosophy of embracing imperfection rather than striving for flawless art. He begins with a spontaneous warm‑up sketch using one‑point perspective, then moves to his New York City sketchbook to draw a Central Park bridge, inviting the chat to guess which bridge and how many bridges exist in the park. Throughout the stream he vents about a frustrating phone‑number‑porting experience with AT&T, shares personal anecdotes—including celebrity sightings of Harrison Ford and Paul Williams—and offers candid architectural commentary on recent skyscraper projects, the preservation of iconic landmarks, and his own preferences for buildings like the Copper Building and the Vessel. Jason engages heavily with the audience, reading comments, running a bridge‑count guessing game, announcing future contests and giveaways, and promoting his everyday‑carry bag (Lockbee) and art supplies (Gelly Roll pens, Sharpie Creative markers, acrylics, gel pens, watercolor crayons). He discusses plans to turn sketches into prints, calendars, and possible Zoom art meet‑ups, and ends with a motivational call to sketch boldly and live creatively. The stream blends informal chat, creative process demonstration, community building, product promotion, and personal storytelling.

Hey, it's Monday, uh, April 20th, 2026. Hope you're having an awesome day. I am Jason Nicholas Nicholas with the Inkspired Life, where I love sketching, especially architecture. Um, I'll pretty much sketch anything. Um, not great at sketching everything, and that's okay because my philosophy and this show is all about imperfection. I am perfection. Uh, I don't strive to sketch perfectly. I don't strive to create beautiful paintings. I don't strive to be a perfectionist. I'm just here being myself, creating, and having fun doing it, and that is all that matters. I hope you're having a great day, so stick with me for the next half hour or so where we'll do some sketching and some creative, uh, journeying together. We'll maybe share some stories, do a little bit of, uh, mindset and personal development and positivity. That is the stuff of life that fuels me up, especially especially after— I'm not kidding, wait to hear these numbers— especially after between Saturday and today spending over 10 hours trying to switch and transfer cell phone numbers from one company to another. I have 2 out of 3 numbers successfully done. And mine is just dragging and dragging, and it takes a lot for me to get annoyed. Um, let's just say I was getting annoyed in the chat, but in a positive, friendly way. Anyway, so it's fun to be on tonight. Um, it's gonna just change my state of being, get me out of those 10 hours of precious time online with phone companies. I'm gonna go into a better place. So let's start off with the sketch here in my Lochbie folio, and it's gonna be random. I don't know what I'm sketching here. After we do some kind of warm-up sketch, we're gonna sketch in this— my New York City sketchbook, which I am loving this thing so, so much. Sorry, my nose is itchy. I'm loving this thing, and tonight I'm gonna sketch. I'll show you. Do you want to see? If you want to see, hit that like button. Hit that like button, say hello in the chat, share it out there, and I'll show you what we'll be sketching. Yeah, I kind of have it pre-planned tonight. All right guys, let's do some warm-up. Uh, say hello in the chat in a minute. I'm listening to some Kick A trance music. Yeah, I like trance music. So I'm listening to some trance on Spotify. If you want to listen along, here's— go on Spotify, search for that. May— oh, it says it's made for me. Maybe it's a custom, I don't know. Maybe it's an AI trance. Maybe AI was used to make the mix, I don't know. I'm listening to it. Feel free to try to find it. Yeah, I'm hyper because of the— I'm so from those phone companies. Anyway, let's Let's do a random sketch in here. This I don't have planned, so we're just gonna grab my pen. I like to do one-point perspective, so maybe we'll hit one of them in a good way. Edie's in the house! Edie, awesome to see you. Hope you are well. Jen! Jen's in the house! Welcome, Jen. I love you guys, you're awesome. Let me zoom in so you can see this better. Yeah, yikes. I'm not even kidding. I, I documented everything. I had AI do a summary transcript. Someone is going to hear about this. I'm not going to say who the companies are, but I— it's, it's built into this system. They make this system so they don't lose customers. They make it so difficult and challenging just to get out of. My phone's all paid, my contract's all paid, I'm all paid up to date. And they're saying there's security things on my phone and blah blah blah blah and more blah. And I— they say they fix them and they go to transfer number and it's not fixed and I go back. It's an endless cycle of wireless hell. But I am back. Hi. All right, let's do some sketching. Thank you for listening to me. Hopefully it was a fun rant. I'm just gonna chill and listen to the music and sketch. Again, I'm just sketching randomly, kind of going crazy, just loosening up. I wish you guys could hear this music. It is just so peppy. It's peppy and fun. Anybody else out there like trance music? The song keeps saying, I can't stop, I can't stop, I can't stop loving you. It's like very repetitive, but I like it. Alright, so I'm just gonna spend a couple more minutes just throwing down some colors, lines, loosening up, changing my state of being from wireless frustration to sketching Uh, I was gonna say contemplation, but that's not the word. I keep, I keep trying to put the wrong cap on that pen. Isn't that silly? Here we go. All right, just another minute and we'll wrap this. Just kind of crazy, kind of fun, colorful. I don't know what it is, but I don't care. That's the point, right? I'm just throwing down ink lines, color, and I'm already feeling so much better than I was when I was landlocked online for Oh man, 3+ hours today. Feel free to say hello, leave me questions, comments. I'll be checking the chat as soon as I wrap this up. And then we'll move on to our NYC sketch. Does anyone want to take a guess in the chat? What do you think I'm going to sketch tonight that is New York City inspired? Let's put in the comments, what do you think? I have it right here, right on the other side of this piece of paper. Let me know, what do you think I'm going to sketch that's NYC inspired? All right, cool. All right guys, I'm done with this loosey-goosey cray-cray sketch. I don't know what the heck it is, but it was fun to throw down. I'm ready, I'm ready. Oops, I just dropped something. All right, so let's open up the NYC Sketchbook, one of my favorite projects I've been working on recently. And thanks to you guys and your inspiration, your suggestions, your encouragement, I am continuing with the project. So thank you all so, so, so much. I appreciate it. All right, so yesterday I prepped a couple of blank pages. Oh no, we, we used one. What did we do last night? Oh no, all right, we didn't. I prepped 2 pages, so I'm gonna sketch on one of these. Um, this is getting good comments, by the way. The, uh, this is part of the Met. Oh, here. All right, let me check in with you y'all, as they say. Let me check in with y'all. And we'll do the reveal. All right, last chance, put in the comments what do you think I'm going to sketch tonight. On the other side of this, my inspo for tonight, it is New York City-based, and I have not sketched anything from this location in this book. I like this music, man. I have I used to listen to trance all the time and I stopped listening to it. Now I just picked it up again the other day. I'm loving it. All right, Jen is— I'm gonna go back and chat a little bit. I may miss some comments, so bear with me. Jen's in the house. Jen says you switch companies and the previous company still keeps calling you to take them back. Here's what really annoyed me. All right, can I vent, guys? I'm gonna vent. Welcome to the Inspired Life, where we sketch, create, celebrate Positivity, and now we're venting. Sorry, I don't usually vent. Here's what drove me crazy with this one company. Um, I'm sitting here, but what we're trying to do is port my number from— they call it porting— port my current cell phone number to the new carrier. So AT&T is— I don't want to jinx myself because the number is supposed to be released Now actually, I'll check later. It isn't because I still have a signal on my phone. Anyway, here's what's annoying me. Did I say the company? Oh, I think I just said their name. Anyway, they keep trying to sell me plans. Yes, they're trying to sell me plans. They're trying to sell me internet while I'm trying to get this tech issue done. And I've been through probably 5, 6 different people since Saturday, and I keep telling them I don't need plans. You've already told me the plans. You told me I could save $400 if I switched to your other plan. I said no, no, no. Because the other company, I am saving over— I'm saving over $1,000 by switching to this other company. Yeah, $1,000. So anyway, while I'm trying to get my issue solved, they keep selling me stuff, and that is annoying. That is not why I called them. So that's my vent session. Hello, did I see a GG's in the house? GG, hello, good to see you. Oh, that felt good. I like the number one foam finger. I still can't find it, and you guys gave me a road— a roadmap to get there. Cricket Wireless. I have never heard of that. Cool. Sorry if my hair is bad. I was pulling it out when I was on the phone. Um, Cricket Wireless. I love the name. I never heard of it. Does it make you hoppy? Get it? Crickets. Crickets, does it make you hoppy? All right. Hey, D-Ray! Oh my gosh, D-Ray's in the house! D-Ray, so good to see you on the Facebook side of the world. It's cold. Yes, it was cold in New Jersey also, Edie. Yeah, this weather is crazy. We had a frost on the ground this morning. Um, Hey JLM, good to see you. Bum bum bum skipping. I see some birds in the chat. New York City inspired coming up, what the heck will it be? Yes. Gigi, hello again, good to see you. Uh, you wore your down jacket today, that's awesome. That sounds really toasty. I still can't find my stinking green jacket I lost about 3 weeks, 4 weeks ago. Long live my favorite green jacket. Um, sweaters, insulation, Chinatown. Nope, not Chinatown. Good guess. All right, can you remove the air conditioner or cover it with plastic? Maybe. All right guys, here's what I'm sketching tonight. Ready? Here's the unveil. Tonight we're going to Central Park. Yep, I said Central Park. I hope the cherry blossom trees are still blooming Saturday or Sunday whenever I get my butt there, because I need to get to the city. I need to— I need some city energy. We're sketching. We're gonna sketch one of the bridges, one of the bridges in Central Park. Edie's my fact checker. Edie, how many— can you look up how many bridges are there in Central Park? I don't remember. I'm gonna say— let's all put a number in the chat. Take a guess. How many bridges do you think there are in Central Park? Put a number in the chat. I'm gonna guess 87. My guess is 87. All right, so let's do a bridge sketch, guys. What should you do? I think I want to do on— let's do on this side. So tonight we're going to start with, um, I'll show you some of the tools I'm going to use. We're going to break out the Gelly Roll white pens. Of course, we'll be using some Sharpie creative markers, my faves. These will be coming to the workshop with me in Brooklyn. We'll be doing some of that. And I think that's all we're gonna start with. We're gonna kind of keep it simple. I might actually break out the art crayon as well. All right, so let's do it, guys. So I like, I like to kind of just sketch it out with the white Creative Pen. Can you guys see that? I'm gonna zoom in a smidge. Oh, I love you guys are guessing. I see 85, I see 30, 50. I was gonna make a contest, but if you guys are looking it up, I should have did a contest and gave away a sketch. We'll do that. Stick around, we'll do this. We'll do a contest on the next live stream, so it's— come back on Wednesday, guys. Wednesday. I might be on tomorrow, but Wednesday we'll do a I'll do a giveaway, some kind of contest. All right, let's sketch. Sorry, I know half my face is off screen, but you're not here to look at me. I have to be honest with you, I don't remember the name of this bridge, but I think it's near the zoo, if I remember. Alright. I love Central Park. I, I could, I could easily spend an entire day just in the park. Such a beautiful, beautiful place. One day I was there for hours just watching the turtles. There's a section where there's a lot of turtles. Yeah, it was just so chill. All right, cool. All right, so I use white. I love using purple on these sketches as well, so we'll start with those. Purple's a really good color when I want to add depth, or I want to come back and do some really sketchy, scratchy lines on, on these sketches to give texture, texture and hatch lines for shading. But have no fear, I will show you what I'm talking about if you stick around. See how the purple just kind of creates depth on there? Watching turtles, that would be fun, D-Ray says. Yeah, it is so much fun watching turtles. They're just so peaceful. All right, it's coming along, it's coming along. Hope you guys are watching. Mr. Clean TT, hey Ethan, good to see you over on Instagram. Hope you're doing well, man. Thanks for tuning in. So Ethan, uh, for anybody just joining, I'm sketching a bridge in Central Park. Iconic Central Park. If you've seen Home Alone— wait, is it Home Alone 2? Wait, which is the one where he's in New York City? I'm drawing a blank. 2, right? It's, it's, it's 2, I think, uh, where he's lost in New York. Central Park. Central Park is like a character in that movie. So Central Park is just so, so many things to see and watch and do there. I forget what the name of it— what is the name? There's like a It's like a castle up on a hill, man. I can't think of the name of it, but it's a really cool place. You climb up this hill, you get some nice views. Beautiful, like, kind of mini castle structure. You think it's 2? Thank you, Ethan. Yeah, I think it's Home Alone 2. I, I think you're right. Gigi says it's 2. You guys are right, I'm gonna go with you. Home Alone 2. One is where he's actually at his house. House. I forget where they lived. Do they live in— where did they live? Illinois? Chicago? I, I forget where Kevin and family lived. I'm talking about them like I know them. Yeah, you know, when I went— I used to hang out with Kevin. Yeah, we'd play video games, and one time he got left behind and we hung out at his house while his parents were on vacation. And some dudes were trying to break in, some bandits, the Wet Bandits. Oh yeah, those were the good old days. Yeah, I don't know, Kevin. All right, let's throw another color in. Let's break out some yellow, I think. So is this looking like a bridge? Can you guys see, see the vision? Actually, you know what, we're gonna— I'm gonna— I changed my mind. We're gonna use turquoise. We're gonna do the keystones. So keystones on a bridge, well, this is the keystone, like the main stone that holds up the bridge, and we have the other stones kind of locking in here. And I decided to go with the turquoise because why not, right? Again, my sketching is not about reality, it's about capturing a vibe. It's what I'm feeling in the moment, it's what tools I have here with me. I'm not a realist painter or sketcher. It's about having fun. It's about getting lost in the process of sketching, creating. And I have a, I have a really exciting project I'm working on, uh, starting this week, and it's going to be so much fun because I can get lost in the creativity. I'm I am dying to do that. Let me check and see if any other questions or comments. Purple gave it depth. Yes. Um, do we get the bridge count? 50 bridges since 1860s. Central Park has 36 bridges. So the park is around 50 bridges, including both ornamental and rustic styles. Most of these were built in 1860s. Awesome. Turtles will be— yes, watching turtles is fun. Man has a population density of 74,870.7 people per square mile. Oh, that is dense. That is, that is, that's incredible. No wonder we are sinking, GG says. It's all that weight. All that weight is making New York City sink. It could be. Um, I just saw, oh, today or yesterday, I think on Instagram, I saw a proposal for a new building that is got approved to be built near— I think it's Grand Central. Is it Grand? I think it's near Grand Central. Um, this building is going to be towering above the Chrysler Building. I'm trying to remember the sketch. It wasn't— I don't think it was anything spectacular. Um, it's a shame that we're losing kind of sense of the scale of some of these iconic buildings like the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building starting to get dwarfed. I, you know, I'm all about architecture, I'm all about modern, I'm all about moving forward, but I'm also about respecting the intrinsic beauty in the city. So how do we protect these beautiful landmarks so they're not obliterated and obscured by these monstrosity mega monster buildings? So it's just something to put out there and something I think about. There are similar bridges in CP. How to distinguish them? Nice. Belvedere. Oh yes, Belvedere Castle. Thank you, GG. It's Belvedere Castle. Looks like a bridge. Hey, that's— that means I'm doing something good, right? I think I'm going to add some other color here. Do you sell any of your sketches? I'd love to buy some of these, are super cool. Ethan, I do sell my sketches. Yes, I love that you asked that. Um, Ethan's on Instagram, guys. I have a lot of people on YouTube here as well, and Facebook, we have a couple. Um, Ethan, I do sell my sketches. Um, DM me, um, DM me on Instagram, or I can DM you and let you know. Um, if you guys— I'm putting this out there for everybody— if you ever see a sketch that I show online like this one or anyone, let me know. Uh, everything is up available unless I say no. Um, I'm more than happy to sell sketches, and I'd rather have people like you guys enjoy them than have them sitting in here. Um, you can see the whole wall behind me. It's a great question, Ethan. And for everybody else, always DM me or message me if you're interested in something. We can talk. Um, Ethan, where I'm— what I'm sketching now in this book is these are going to become prints and a calendar. And if you stick around for a little bit, I will do a quick tour through here. I hate the new build. Yeah, Gigi, um, you know, I know what you're saying and I kind of just— I kind of agree. Some of— I feel like a lot of these buildings are now just egotistical. Um, I will admit I do love the Copper Building. That is a very modern building. I love it so much. Um, the new Chase— JPMorgan Chase headquarters— I'm not sure how I feel about it. I, I kind of like the complexity of the base and how they designed it to work with the subway system underneath. So I love the engineering and what they did. Um, sorry, I don't have any images, but look up the JPMorgan Chase headquarters Is it 270 Park Avenue? I forget the address. Um, I'm not sure how I feel about it. So, Gigi, I'm on the same page. Um, and then, you know, the Vessel is cool, but I don't— not a huge fan of the Vessel, believe it or not. Although I love the Shed building in Hudson Yards. Let's keep smashing the light bucket. Light bucket? Oh my God, we don't have a light bucket. The like button. Guys, I don't drink alcohol. I just— I don't. Um, you could see why, because I can't even talk normally. Um, I have some nice tea here. Sweet. You, uh, definitely hit you up, and for sure I got time. I'll stick around. Sure, yeah, lay low. That's cool. Also, Ethan, feel free to share this out with some of your other friends I met on, on the trip. I'm more than happy to stay in touch with some of you guys. You were pretty awesome. And YouTube is also happening. If you're on YouTube, feel free to come to the YouTube side. There's people chatting in there. It's, it's a fun place. You just see what the new museum buildings look like. Oh, I do not like the new museum building. I think it's pretty trashy. I'm sorry, I'm an architect. I'm speaking from an architectural point of view. I don't know how, and I didn't study, and maybe there's reasoning behind it. I'm going to keep sketching again. Their design— the new museum building is really bad, and I, I, I need to research it. I don't— I, I want to pop these out more. I'm not sure they're popping out. Yeah, the new museum building is kind of— it's just, it's not good. You know, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, look at it. They are elegant, elegant designs. Yeah, they were egotistical when they were built. There were statements, but they were elegant statements. You know, let's not just throw up these glass boxes to throw up a glass box and say, I made the tallest glass box in the city. That for me is not design. And I'm a simple residential architect in New Jersey, so I don't have any design experience with skyscrapers, but I can critique. Like, I'm a professional, I can critique. And they don't care. They don't care what I'm saying. All right guys, what else should I add to this? I'm thinking too much. This is fun. I love creativity chatting. I love architectural chatting. I love ranting about cell phones service. Thank you guys for sticking with me. I hope you're having fun tonight. Let me know in the comments. You could put yay or nay. Yay, we're having fun, or nay, this guy's boring. But Edie said it great the other day. She's like— he's like, you know what, if people don't like it, they can just sign out. And you're 100% correct. And then we had a nice chat with JLM about critics and haters and how to deal with that. So maybe that was last night, so check out last night's live stream. Um, there was some good info about how do we deal with people that critique our work and just have bad things to say. I think there was some good strategy, um, in that live stream from last night. Aren't you guys tired of me? I ain't popping on a lot. All right, I'm looking for— I don't know— this one. Central Park is such a cool vibe with the zoo. I have a celebrity sighting story. Central— you guys want to hear my Central Park celebrity sighting story? Let me know. Say yes, celebrity. I've had two, two NYC celebrity sightings besides, you know, hanging out after a Broadway show backstage. But just random encounters. I think two. I might be lying, maybe it was one. Oh, where's my yellow? All right, we still got 6 people hanging on. Thank you guys for hanging with me tonight. I know this song. They trans— they transified this song. What song is it? I recognize it. I don't know, this is a song. It sounds like a song I know. All right. Oh yeah, it's Time. I love this song. It's only time. Is it an Enya song? All right, so now you can see the arch. Yeah, I love this song. Alright, cool. Some of these gel pens are— I don't know, I find Gelly Roll pens, um, inconsistent. It might be just me and the paper and the texture I'm trying to sketch on, but sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, but I'm not giving up on them. I'm not giving up on him. I need green, I need green. Do I have green? Um, I don't see a green. Oh, hold on. Yes, I do. I got green right here. By the way, if you guys are looking for a Kick A, Kick A EDC bag, everyday carry bag, It's time for me to give my Lockbee plug. Um, I love Lockbee, guys, as you know. It's also— you can get a discount code if you use my code on the screen. It's INKspired. I-N-K-spired. It's also in the chat comments. Anyway, um, I use their stuff all the time, and I, I want to give this bag a plug because this bag— I have a few of them. One has like tech gear in it, one has like cables for, you know, phones and stuff. Um, I love this. It has this section where I keep my creative markers in here. Sometimes I have one with colored pencils. I have another one I use for like painting watercolor. But that's not all. The other side has a full open zip compartment. Check this out, guys. Look at all of the stuff I have. These cool Field Note pencils in here. I love these carpenter pencils. They're fun to sketch with. Um, I have all kinds of other pencils in here as well, and ink. So if you guys are looking for a really cool EDC, everyday carry bag, go to lockbee.com and check, check out their site. Love these. Uh, like I said, I have a bunch of them. They have a mini one here. I'll even pull it out. It's empty right now, but I have a mini one, different sizes. And if you like it, you check out my discount, use my discount code, it's INKspired, I-N-Kspired. You'll save 10%, rules apply. And yes, I am a LockMe ambassador, so I do get a very small minuscule, like a little percentage back if you guys use my discount code. Um, but I wouldn't talk about them if I didn't use them. Lockbee is like my lifeblood when I'm traveling, travel sketching, or even home. Like, you guys see me use them all the time here. I'm to organize pens. I have pens in one, colored pencils in one, markers in one. If you ever have any questions about their stuff, let me know. I'm more than happy to talk to you about it. All right, cool. All right, this is looking awesome. Let's throw some greenery. There's some trees here, so we're gonna This is going to be fun. Watch this, watch this, watch this. All right, look how I'm just going to do trees here on this red background. Um, I see— so my celeb story, I see some comments. I have to go back and catch up with you guys. So my celebrity sighting, um, walking, walking along Central Park— I guess it's Fifth Avenue, right? So walking along Central Park, Fifth Avenue, near the zoo. Um, this tall gentleman walking very, very fast, followed by a group of kids. Um, very tall, very— yes, I'll say handsome, I'm allowed to say that— very handsome, very famous guy walks, zips past me. He's like speed walking, trying to get away from these kids. It was Harrison Ford. Yeah, so it was so cool. I didn't talk to him or anything, obviously I respected his privacy, but it was so fun seeing Harrison Ford in the city. It was interesting because I didn't, I didn't know he like had an earring, and this guy was like wearing an earring, and I'm like, wait, is that Harrison Ford? And it turns out it was. So that was kind of a cool sighting. Uh, I also saw— do you guys know Paul Williams? Paul Williams. Paul Williams is a— he's a phenomenally talented songwriter. He's acted as well. Paul Williams, he's still around. I've— I have seen Paul Williams in the city. Check out this— look at that effect! Isn't that awesome? Just kind of dabbing in this green on the background, just idea of trees. That's to say, these nighty art-ups keep the fire stoked past world noise. Oh, JLM, let's— I don't know if that's meant for me, but I'm gonna put that on. Look what I could do, guys. Look at that. Ethan says, I'm gonna do some sketching while watching. Not sure what I'm gonna sketch, but we'll see what happens. Hey Ethan, I love that you're sketching while I'm sketching. Cool, man. I'd love to see what you're sketching. You've seen several celebs. Howard Stern. That's so cool. I think Howard— I think Howard Stern paints, right? Is that a true statement? I think he paints. All right, you've seen some of his works. Pretty— Gigi, I had no idea. I always thought he was a silly shock jock. Oh. Yeah, no, I think Howard paints very cool, right? Watch what I'm gonna do on this side, guys. I'm gonna take the red and we're gonna do the same thing. I'm using red so it pops out a little more. We got some Madonna playing here, Transified Madonna. Um, Howard Stern's really tall and skinny. I've never seen Howard in person. I hope you guys are digging this. I want another color. What's a good color to pop on there? Of course, purple. So one of the things I like to do with these kind of multimedia or mixed media sketches is layer— do layers. For me, it just adds interest. So I'm layering. We started with a base layer of just abstract acrylic paints, which some of you guys may have seen me do live the other day. On top of that, we are using Sharpie creative markers. Um, we use a gel pen, and I think I'm going to break out some colored pencils in a sec. Pick up some colored pencils. Um, oh, your new pencils have arrived. That's awesome, JLM. I love that. Very, very cool. You'll have to, um, let me know how you like them. I love neon yellow. As you know, I love neon colored pencils. All right, this one's almost done, guys. What time is it? It's 9:50. Where did the— where the heck does the time go? Can I have a sick day tomorrow? Can you— can anybody call out for me? So I can get a sick day. As much as I love teaching— you guys know I love teaching. I love this neon orange color, so fun. I'm not cray cray about the yellow on here. Let me see if I put a highlighter over it, if it changes. Yeah, I like, I like that better with the highlighter on it. This is the highlight of my day. Thank you, thank you. I have to always get one dad joke in, just one. If you guys are sketching at home, hold them up, let me see what you're sketching. I'd love to see it. I wish we were on Zoom so I could see your faces and see if you're sketching and Be fun. If you're down for a Zoom end of the week, let me know. Put Zoom in the comments. Maybe we'll set up a little free Zoom. We could do a little meet and greet on Zoom, say hello, put names, faces, and voices. Because I, I don't know, I think it'd be cool to see you guys. Let me know. Let's put Zoom. It could be a chill Zoom art session. Uh, what do you think? Yay, nay? Give me your feedback. Jen with the emojis! Jen is the emoji queen. Shout out to Jen. I still can't find the foam fingers though. Hunter Biden paints. That's so cool. I think, I think a lot of people paint that we don't know about. It's just good therapy. Have a great night, Jason Nicholas Nicholas. Thank you, Jen. Take care, be well. It's good seeing you. Have a great night, Jen. I appreciate you. Hopefully I'll see you soon. Yeah, we're gonna wrap. We'll probably wrap in, uh, 8 minutes. I'll wrap at 10 tonight. Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments. I probably missed some chat stuff, so bear with me. Hope you guys are liking this one. I want to add some— probably, I think I'm gonna do some, uh, let's see, aqua turquoise here. Do you ever— you guys do this? You ever pick up like your coffee or tea or whatever, hot chocolate, whatever you're drinking and just kind of like, you kind of are holding it like you're gonna drink it, and then you never drink it. That's why my coffee is always cold. Ethan, I'd love to see what you're sketching. I know you're sketching over there, so if you ever want to send it to me, you definitely can. I'm more than happy to give feedback, 100%. Goes for any of you guys. If you ever want to share your sketches, feel free. I'm more than happy to give feedback. And again, right, what is this about? What is it— what is this not about? What is this not about? Something I stress a lot. I love turquoise. This is my favorite, favorite creative marker color and color pencil color. So the outline just pops. This is not about perfection. This is about sketching. This is about being imperfect. It's about simply being human, throwing down colors, throwing down lines, throwing down shapes, getting stuff out of your head onto paper, brainstorming, problem solving, chilling. Whatever putting pen or paper— pen or pencil to paper means to you. I'm— we're not here striving to make perfect, precise paintings, drawing sketches. That's not what Inspired Life's about. So that's why I don't want you guys to ever be afraid to— if you want to show me what you're sketching, go for it. There's no shame in it. Only compare yourself to yourself. If you do compare yourself to others, use it as fire, use it as fuel, use it as inspiration, um, to make yourself better, but not better than that person, to make yourself just better. So take that, that comparison trap, turn it around, because just like we're talking negative talking haters, take that negative and make it into a positive and use it as fuel, fire, and energy to light you up and make you the best you that you can be. I think I just said you like 20 times in the same sentence. We should play a game: how many times did I just say you? I really want to do something with these, but the gel pen is not, not digging sketching on the acrylic paint. Dang, have it. One last thing I'm gonna do on here, I'm gonna throw down some white. I love these Art Crayons. They're actually watercolor crayons. I'm able to play with them sometime. I have— I've yet to use them as watercolor crayons. I just like the way they glide on the paper, and I'm just kind of pulling out some of the background here a little bit. I don't know if this is going to go in the calendar. Probably not. All right, I think this one might be done, guys. Let's do a flip through of what we have in the sketchbook and we'll answer any final questions or comments. Ethan sketching the Colosseum! OMG, with a capital R for Rome! That's awesome, man. I would love to see your Colosseum sketch. Not easy to sketch that one. So cool. All right guys, ready? Let's do the tour. And again, questions, comments, let me know in the chat as we wrap up. This has been the highlight of my day, and I just saw a modern building— no, I just saw an industrial factory building here in the outline. Oh, I wanna— I know I said I'm gonna end. This is my New York City book, so I'm not going to sketch it, but I might put a piece of tracing paper over. I see shapes calling my name, but we'll come back to that another time. All right, let's go through. Is there anything I'm going to show you guys? You've seen it, I'm going to show you again. Is there anything in here that should not be in the calendar, or I should not sell as a print. So let me know what you don't like that I'm about to show you. It's okay, I'm not gonna have my feelings hurt. What, what is not worth selling as a print? Okay, is he ready? Here we go. All right, we got the Brooklyn Bridge. We've talked about this one many times. I'm the one that doesn't like this, but you guys all like it, so it's going in the calendar and it's going to be a print. Brooklyn Bridge. The Oculus. By the way, I might use this for my TikTok tonight or tomorrow. I should start over, right? Brooklyn Bridge. Oculus. Copper Building. Lincoln Center, St. Patrick's, Manhattan Bridge, Domino Sugar Refinery. Uh, this is, um, Grand Central Terminal back here. I shouldn't have to say what this one is, but I will. Empire State Building. I shouldn't have to say what this one is. The Chrysler. I love this one. One World Trade. The Guggenheim. I love this one too. Grand Central Terminal. I'm using subliminal messages. I love this one. This might be my fave. Um, uh, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Washington Square Park Arch. Oh my gosh, I'm drawing a blank. The Manosphere? Edie, don't be mad. Don't be mad at me, Edie. The lithosphere? Oh my gosh, I forgot the name of it. Next. Um, I wrote it. Wait, wait, I wrote it on here. So dumb. The Unisphere, the Met. I love the colors here. Love, love the colors on this one. Um, and then we have our Grand Central Terminal-inspired bridge. All right, let me go through the comments and we're going to wrap. Not like rap, you don't want to hear me rap. I can't rap. I could do rap on the spot. We did that in school one— I've done this cool a couple times actually, a little rap throwdown. Um, where am I looking? I don't know. Why are my comments scrolling up? Where am I? I don't know. Um, Mix Media, acrylic inks, Neocolor 2s, collage, Prismacolor prismatic pencils. I said good night to Jen. Good night, Jen. I love it. We need a horse underneath. Oh, I, I don't really do animals. You know what, I'm willing to try on a piece of trace paper. We'll save that for next time. Yeah, but Gigi, you're right, a horse would really add to the vibe on this, 100%. Wait, I just saw something. 100%. Uh, where's my markers? Where's my white? I think this needs some white on it. See how the white, it just kind of makes a big difference, just pops things a little more. Can you— can any of you guys draw or sketch a horse? If you can do a horse, let me know. All right, it looks better with the white on there, right? It just lifted it. Uh, yeah, Ethan's doing the Coliseum. Ethan, that's amazing. Hey, a news— a news Remember me? Yes, you're from India. How are you? I'm saying your name right. Good to see you, welcome back. I remember your name. Thanks for watching from India, that's so cool. JLM spilled an entire coffee with fixings mugs on two shelves of our gear yesterday. Oh yikes, were you brewing up something good? Are you brewing up something good in your— on your art sketch painting. No, my puns are not working. Um, I've done that. We've all been there. It was great to see you. Where are you from? I, I am from, uh, me, I'm from New Jersey. New Jersey, the Garden State. We have some New Yorkers on here. I love the New Yorkers. We have a Canadian over on Instagram, Ethan. Ethan's from Winnipeg, the Slurpee capital of the world. Shout out to the Slurpee capital of the world. That was a fun fact that I learned from you guys. You guys were so cool. I had a blast. Thank you for letting me sit with you guys and talk to you guys on our European adventure. I have to say, it really was, um, It was one of my most favorite things about the trip was getting to meet you guys. What a— you guys are awesome. Please send my greetings to your friends. How about a New York, New York City billboard series? I love that idea. Billboard or even a, um, marquee, marquee series. Ew, I saw something about ewe. Oh, ewe, like E-W-E, like the sheep. I didn't realize I put that coffee thing on the screen. I don't know how that happened. Guggenheim is your second fave now? Gigi, really? The Guggenheim moved up? All right, here's Gigi's second favorite. Gigi, is the Brooklyn Bridge still your fave? Is that still number one for you? Would I? If so, I think I see a trend with what you like, Gigi. I'm getting in your— getting in your creative brain. I'm inside your brain right now. I feel like, Gigi, you like simple, clean lines in art because this is very simple and blocky. Which I like. It's very, um, minimalistic in a way. Obviously the background is chaotic, so I think you like simple, clean, because that's something common between that sketch and this sketch, which is ultra simple. So love that you said that. Yes, the Unisphere. You mean Freedom Tower. Oh, oh, oh, I'm so sorry. Did I say World Trade Tower? Yeah, my bad. Thank you for catching it. I meant the Freedom Tower. I meant to say One World Trade. My bad. Yeah, we've talked about the World Trade Center, and I should do my sketches. I get it. Thanks for, for correcting me. Let him guess. You guys are making me guess the Unisphere. It was on the sketch the whole time. You drew a horse's head from the Charles Bark drawing course. Oh, that's cool. Let's see your horse, Edie. I'd love— Edie, can you— do you want to message me your horse? I'd love to see it. You second Gigi's faves. Okay, so JLM, you like the Brooklyn Bridge and Guggenheim. Wow, I still don't— I still am not getting the Brooklyn Bridge thing, but I'm trusting in you. Yes, you. I'm pointing to you. Where's my finger? Wait, I'm pointing to you. I have to point up. Pointing to you, you guys up there. Uh, the BB is special to me because— but it's okay if it doesn't belong in the group. It's special to you. I love that it's special to you. You, um, I love when these places connect with you guys. Gigi, I'm sure you have a story or two or three, you know, about the Brooklyn Bridge and why it connects and why this sketch makes you think of the bridge and, you know, the things it makes you think of and It'd be fascinating one day for me to hear, hear a story about why you connect so much, because artwork is about connecting, it's about communicating, it's about sharing, storytelling, about caring. So I'd love to know on a deeper level what— why do you resonate with that? So cool. It does belong in the group. Why? Because it you guys like it and I like you guys. All right, cool. All right guys, I don't see any other questions or comments. Did I miss anything dire? Anuj, thank you for watching from India, so cool to see you. Edie, Edie, oh, Edie was saying it's 9:59 PM. Anybody else out there? If you haven't yet, get— if you haven't yet, please thumbs up, like, share, subscribe. If you're not on my YouTube channel, guys, yet, when you're watching on Facebook or Instagram, please, please come over to the YouTube side of things. I would love to have you there as well. Um, just because, uh, it's so fun to see. We have a lot of people— not a lot— we have more people on YouTube chatting. It's just cool to see the interaction. So if you want to, come on over to the YouTube side as well. Um, it's a cool place to be. All right guys, how should we leave this? Let's see. I'll send you a DM of your sketch so far. Hey, thank you, Ethan, I'd love to see it. The Guggenheim is great to look at but allows you to be inside of— it's all hard surfaces inside, so it's very noisy, and you're on a constant downhill slope with your head turned one way to see the art. Yeah, the Guggenheim, the Guggenheim does— yes, for practical reasons, I agree with you, it's I think Frank Lloyd Wright was— again, this was an ego. He was just trying to make a statement. So it's a— the Guggenheim building is an art piece. It's a sculpture that you're inside of, basically. Gigi, great. Good night. Thank you for your message on Instagram. You guys are awesome. I appreciate you all so, so much. It's been an amazing Monday. Thanks for listening to me vent about AT&T, but more importantly, thank you for joining me on this creative journey tonight. Um, until we meet again, sketch boldly, live creatively, and inspire endlessly. That was a cheesy ending. I was trying to do like cheers on the screen. It didn't really go that well. Good night, guys.
