Hello. Hope you're having an awesome day. This is Jason of the Inkspired Life with some of my favorite items from 2024. Let's get into it. Let's start off with Sharpie Marker. I am using Sharpie markers pretty much every single day. I love using Sharpie to start my sketches. I know the ink is not going to bleed, especially when I go to add some, you know, ink or watercolor on top of it. So definitely Sharpie a new find this year. Are these really cool Sharpie Creative markers. They're acrylic in here, acrylic paint. And they come out, they dry really quickly, come in multiple, multiple colors, different sizes. This is more of a kind of a real thin brush tip on here. Then we have a wider bullet tip on this one. And you can see how vibrant these colors are. So they're just a lot of fun. I just love that they dry quick because I tend to sketch fast, add layers fast, and I don't have to sit around and wait for these to dry before I can move on to the next layer or color I want to add. So I'm loving these Sharpie Creative markers. If you know me and you've seen my videos, you probably knew this was going to make an appearance. The Lock B Field Journal is by far my favorite grab and go creating item. Use it all the time. This one is well loved, as you can see. Just sketches in it like crazy. It comes in New York City with me. It just travels everywhere. I like the paper in here. I've done full reviews on these before. But yes, the Lockbee Field Journal continues to be a favorite of mine for sure. Lockpie in general is just an amazing company and they have other products as well that I love using paper. This year I found myself going back a lot to the Fabriano 1264 cold press 140 pound watercolor paper. It's my grab and go watercolor paper. I just love it for mixed media sketching. Watercolor sketching as well. I also like the spiral binding and the fact that the sheets, this was in there. The sheets are easy to tear out. Pretty cool. Let's go to another kind of paper journal sketchbook I like is I love the Moleskine Watercolor Art journals. These are great. They fit right in my pocket. These go with me everywhere, especially when I go to New York City. You can see, actually I had this when I was out sketching the Brooklyn Bridge last time. Just grab and go easy put in my pocket. I like the hardcover on it as well. So this is a Moleskine sketchbook. I will have links to all these items in the notes, so be sure to check that out if you're interested and want to learn more about the products. These two books here have been on my shelf since, I don't know, 19, I don't know, 1990. I think one's 1990. I think the other one is like 2001. So I love sketching barns and these are amazing resources. This first book is the Old House Book of Barn Plans by Richard Rawson. I don't know if it's still available or not. I love the technical drawings in here are really cool. Also we have some other really nice, kind of almost like etchings in here as well. Just a really nice resource for barn construction for illustration and graphic and perspective views of barns. And very similar in nature is this book here. Eric Sloan's An Age of Barnes. Really cool book. You can see it's very similar in nature to the types of drawings and information. Really, really great resource for sketching barns. So again, I recommend these books. I don't know if they're available or not. I've had them for a long time, but they. They were out here in my studio a lot this year. So really good resources. The next thing I want to show you is kind of a tech thing. I started using this maybe a year ago or so. It's called the Remarkable Tablet and it is really remarkable. It's an E Ink tablet, really meant for taking notes, sketching. You can upload PDFs, save files to the cloud. It's not really a computer and it's not meant for uploading apps onto it. So it's not an iPad. I use this thing probably almost every day. Just want to open it so you can see it pretty much every day for either taking notes or doing sketches on. So this is a sketch here of the Brooklyn Bridge that I did on the tablet and you can see some other sketches I've done. Here's one of the Domino Sugar Factory. So it's just a really great tech device if you want to focus on being able to take notes or do sketches on a device without a lot of distractions. Right. I can't upload any games on here, which is good. Not that I play many, but where I can't watch YouTube on here. Really great focusing device. Highly recommend it. If you're looking for some kind of electronic tablet for keeping notes, keeping organized, and maybe doing some sketches on. I'll be doing some future videos on the tablet and go into more how I use it. There are a couple different ones. This is a remarkable two Bigger has some color options versus the remarkable the original one. So really, really cool find this year. And that's it, guys. That's just a quick look at some of my faves from 2024. Again, there will be links and more information to these items I talked about here in the notes or comments, depending where you're watching. And I appreciate you all so, so much. Thank you for subscribing, liking following me in 2024, and I'm super, super excited to see where the sketching journey goes in 2025. All right, happy Holidays. Take care, everybody. Peace and live creatively. I'll see you.
