MY FIRST LOOK - LOCHBY MINI FIELD JOURNAL

Hello, Jason Nicholas Nicholas here from The Inspired Life, and oh my gosh, I am super excited. I have something new to show you that I haven't even taken out of the package yet. Um, if you've been following me, you know I'm a huge, huge Lockabee fan. Um, these are a couple of my Lockabee go-to items, the Field Journal This is the original field journal. I— this goes with me almost everywhere I go. I love this. I swear by this journal. Uh, it's incredible, and I've talked about it before in past videos. Um, love, love, love it. Well used, well worn out. I love the way it's, it's aging. So really cool. So this is the original field journal. And then we have the pocket field journal, which I actually have been using more lately. Um, I like the pocket field journal. I've been taking it to, um, New York City with me. It fits in my coat pockets really easily. You can see some sketches here I've done in here from some of my New York City visits. So this is really cool too. This is the pocket journal, and I like the way that it zips. Really cool. But let me tell you, um, thanks to Lockbee, they just sent me their newest product and I cannot wait to show you. But Here we are. You ready? Drum roll, please. This here is the Lochbie Mini Field Journal, or the Field Journal Mini. I don't know if you can see it there. Um, Lochbie was kind enough to send this to me, so I'm really, really appreciative of it. So let's take a look at it. Still in the package, so this is the first time you guys are seeing it with me, uh, in real time here. So let's open it up. This is the navy color. So I love, I love the brown colors, and I also love the navy. And what I'm interested to see how the navy is going to wear. So let's open this up. So you see their tag here, Lockbee "Keep creating." Love that saying. Nice little tag on here. Um, I've had nothing but positive interaction with Team Lockbee, so, um, really great people. Very cool. Let's open this up. So you could almost say that this mini field journal is a mashup between the regular size Field Journal and the Pocket. So it's kind of an in-between size. Again, this is off the cuff here. I think the Lockbead— this is a— yeah, the Mini is a little bit bigger than the Pocket Journal. You can kind of see, see it there. This is just a quick first reaction. I'll probably go back and do a more thorough review, especially after I've used it, but just want to give you my initial impressions of it. Alright, so let's open it up. It has the clasp on the front, real elegant design. Love the clasp, great way to keep it closed. I'm also noticing actually it has a handle on it. Oh my gosh, this handle, if you look at my field journal, this thing gets so much use. I mean, I'll keep my hand in here like this open it up. It's just a great way for me to hold things. So it's cool to see that they have a handle on this one as well. Let's open it up. So it has some nice pockets in here, different sizes. Put things here vertically. Let's see, maybe stick a some paper in there, whatever, all kinds of purposes. Some other pockets in here as well. I love the, the, um, variety of sizes, so you can put a lot of things in there if you want. This takes a 3.5 by 5.5 inch size paper, so let's— we'll put this in. This is dot grid. I use the dot grid and I use plain. They also make a ruled paper as well. So this is supposed to be able to hold up to 4 different notebooks. So we'll slip one in here for now, and it just slides in under this elastic here. So let's pull through so you can see how that kind of fits in there. And you can stack 4 in there. So like I said, I'll be using this more and do another thorough video, um, initial impressions. So I'm loving that. Has another pocket in the back as well. Of course, we have a place to keep a pen or pencil, marker, whatever you'd like to keep in there. So we got a loop on there, and there's also a pocket on the back you could put things in. Um, it's really cool. Let's, let's kind of actually break it out. Let's kind of put our hands in there. Straps a little tight, but it'll wear out. It'll fit my hand. It'll get— it's just brand new, so it'll break in. Not worried about that. So I'm left-handed, so I'm actually going to put the strap in underneath this way. And let's just pretend I'm kind of out sketching somewhere, kind of bend it, flex it back. Normally I would take a binder clip and just clip these together. Actually, a paper clip here. Let's try that. Let's put a paper clip there just to hold that page down. And yeah, let's just pretend I'm sketching out in the field somewhere, quick, loose. So really comfortable, fits in my hand very nicely, very nicely. I'm digging it. I think it's going to be really fun to use, and I can't wait to start carrying it around. So maybe we'll give the large Field Journal a break for a bit, and we'll give the Pocket a break for a bit, and we'll just— we'll carry around the Mini. Really cool. And also has— I didn't mention these— it has these kind of page markers which come in handy, especially when you have more than one notebook in here. I can just kind of mark that page like that. So that is the first glance at the Lockbee Field Journal Mini. Really cool size, and I can't wait to, uh, break it out, and I'll do even a deeper comparison too of the three items.
