Quick walk

Jason Nicholas walks his dog Olivia through a ridge and marsh at dusk, pausing to notice frogs, dead trees, and changing grass colors. He describes how these details inspire his architectural sketching and invites viewers to sketch boldly and live creatively.

Ori Jason Nicholas from the Inspired Life. Hope you're having a great day today. Just a quick walk, no agenda other than coming on, walking along for a minute or two, and, um, just checking in. Sometimes I think we all need a little check-in, right? You know, either we can check in on someone or someone could check in on us, and that's important. It's important just to know that there's other people out there besides ourselves in this world that could use a little check-in now and then, right? So I hope you're having an amazing, amazing day, and I'm just checking in to say hello. I'm taking a nice walk for some fresh air. Fresh air equals fresh care. See what I did there? And, uh, it's always fun just to check in with you guys and just show you a little bit about where I'm walking. And yeah, just kind of walking and talking. So stick with me for a minute or two. I may say nothing, I may say a lot, or who the heck knows, we might see some deer. I don't know, but let's walk for a few minutes. And always pardon me for the shaky camera, I do not have a gimbal, so This is me, camera, holding my camera and walking my pup at the same time. Let's change camera view. Boom! There's Olivia, my faithful companion. So hope you guys are having an amazing day. Again, I'm just checking in. I just want to say hello. No agenda here. Other than just a little fresh air. So stick with me. Feel free to say hello in the comments, I always appreciate that. Give me a thumbs up on YouTube. Well, it has to be— yes, YouTube, because I am streaming on YouTube. Um, all that fun social media like subscribe stuff. But here I am just taking a nice walk tonight. And I am appreciating the kind of quiet outdoors. You can hear the sounds of the frogs in the distance. I think Olivia is taking us along the ridge. We haven't walked here in a while. So we'll take a little ridge walk. I'm gonna be quiet so you can hear the frogs. Yes, you hear that? Those are frogs down there, just kind of like a little marshy area. It's the sounds of nature that are much needed today after kind of a cray cray day. So we're just walking along a little ridge here. Down there you can get a better view of kind of the marshy area where you hear the frogs from. So one of the reasons I just love walking outdoors, especially in areas like this, is just, you know, a bit of solitude, the sounds of nature, the idea of exploring paths, just fresh air, escape from being inside all day. Hanging out with my pup, of course. And just looking around, I like to look at things like this tree, this kind of tree that's sort of dead and collapsed here. But I just like looking at the textures on there. So as a visual person, I'm always looking at textures and colors and shapes and light and shadow and all that stuff. But here Amen. There's so much happening in that tree that it would be awesome just to grab a sketch, maybe some ink or watercolor, and do a quick sketch. All right, Liv, let's go back up the ridge. Ready? Vamos, let's go back up the ridge. It is getting kind of sundown time here, and I don't want to encounter any bears or anything out here. They definitely do live out here. Whoa, spin move! That was the Olivia spin move. Um, I'm gonna walk back on that ridge. You can hear those frogs again. I'll be quiet. All right, some good ASMR there if you're looking for frog sounds. This is one of my favorite, favorite vistas coming up. Let's go through the clearing here. Well, let's go through here to the clearing and I'll show you. I just love, I love this view here, just kind of looking up the hill, kind of a— call it a meadow area with these long grasses growing. I love these, these grasses change colors throughout the year. Pretty cool, right? And my friend is bringing me up the hill, and I'll get to the top. We'll give you a quick view, and then we'll log out— or log out, sign off, what do we do on YouTube? Power down. It's all good. But if you like these kinds of walks, subscribe.
