Hey, how you doing? Jason Nicholas Nicholas here from The Inspired Life. It is late for me, 10:10 PM. I am just about ready to go to sleep, but I just remembered I didn't do any sketching today, so I want to do 10 minutes here, maybe 11, um, and do a quick sketch before I head off to bed, just to keep my daily sketching habit going. So hope you're having a great day, and, um, yeah, thanks for joining me just for a few minutes here. All right, I'm just gonna sketch here, um, in the Lockbie Journal, keep going with what we've been doing. And I've just been sketching these kind of imaginary hill towns, a lot of fun. So let me zoom in a little bit and let's just sketch something. Hey DB, hope you're doing well. I just, I see you over there on Facebook. Hope you're having a great, great day and a good evening. Always, always good to see you. So I am just, uh, I know it's on— I'm on pretty late tonight, but I didn't sketch today and I didn't want to stop my everyday sketching streak. Um, so I am late just for a few minutes and enjoy some ASMR. Pencil sharpener. Ah. Hello Sally for Art, see you on Instagram. Hope you're doing well. DB says love that pencil sharpener. Oh, that's so good. Yeah, it's, it's, um, even though I've talked about it before, obviously, but yeah, I still love it. It's still going strong. I really got to look back and see when I bought it. It was a while ago. And I believe you picked one up, so that's so cool. Hey JLM, good to see you. Hope you're doing well. I'm, uh, I am definitely on a little on very late here for me. I'm exhausted, but I just— I'm trying to prove myself that I can keep this everyday sketching streak going, and I couldn't go to bed without doing my daily sketch. So that's why I'm on kind of late, um, and we'll be on just for a few more minutes, but Always great seeing you guys. Feel free to ask questions. And I have to do a tick check. I feel something on my leg here. Nope, we're good. We are having major tick issues here in New Jersey where I live. So bad. So, so bad. I've pulled 15 off of me in the past week and a half. Not even kidding. Yeah, I'm loving these kind of just, uh, imaginary cityscapes. These have been a lot of fun to do. Let's see, I want to throw some texture on the roofs, and let's use— I love this pen here. And of course I lost the cap too. There it is, the Sharpie I just took out. Note to self, I need to get purple, um, Creative Markers. I need to get more Sunburst Yellow, another Sunburst Yellow pencil. I— where was I? Oh, details. Yeah, told you I am tired. Uh, watercolor and soft pastel piece start. That's awesome, I'm so glad. Love to hear when people are working on their projects. So cool, thanks for sharing. Hello Sally, I see you on Instagram. Hope you're doing well tonight. Thanks for tuning in. I'm just doing a loose imaginary, um, kind of a Mediterranean-inspired hill Top Town and just get my daily sketch in. I didn't do it today and I didn't want to go to bed without doing it, so trying to honor a promise, a commitment I made to myself to do, to sketch something every day. And if I miss a day or two here, that's okay. I'm not, not gonna hate on myself for that because after all I'm just human, right? We're gonna miss some, some days, but at least if I can make the effort, I will. All right, let's throw some neon yellow on here. Um, Sally says your art is such a delight. Oh my gosh, thank you so much. That, that makes me feel really special before I head to bed. Thank you so much. I hope people can get a little bit of joy out, out of what I'm doing. A little bit of positivity. You know, I'm always preaching creativity for positivity. That's my kind of my main motive here. Just want to spread a little bit of positivity through creativity. And my creative gift is, um, sketching. We all have different creative gifts— painting, cooking, baking, reading. Yard work, gardening, it doesn't matter. We're just being a kind human being. That is a gift unto itself that we need more of in the world. So thank you, I appreciate your kind words. I'm going to throw some pink on here. DB knows how much I love fluorescent pink. DB is an OG Inkling, and I appreciate you sticking with me, um, all these years. I am honored to be amongst amazing company like all of you guys that are watching right now. Thank you so much. Got to throw some pink on this, right? Why the heck not? We're going to make it really just fun. And, uh, DB, I know you were a teacher, so shout out to you. This is actually Teacher Appreciation Week. I don't know if it's a national thing or a New Jersey thing, I'm not sure, but we're having Teacher Appreciation Week this week and it's been really nice. They've provided ice cream, we had an ice cream truck today at school for the teachers. We had some nice sandwiches one day. Tomorrow I think we're getting like a fajita lunch. These different organizations are donating this to us. Um, so shout out to any of my colleagues out there, any teachers past, present, or future. We need more amazing human beings out there that are willing, willing to take on the world of education. It is not an easy world to be in, but it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my my past 7 years. So I wouldn't trade, um, my past 7 years for anything. Teaching has been rewarding on so many different levels, and it's been hard work, guys. Teaching is hard work, dealing with, you know, 60 to 80 different personalities a day. And I'm not complaining, there's so much that goes on behind the scenes I never appreciated until I started teaching. So again, shout out to all those teachers. And my playlist switched to Christmas music. I don't know why. I was going through my playlist of songs, um, songs I created, and it went on the Christmas playlist. Okay. Ditto to Sally. Oh, awesome, I love that. Waiting for paint to dry parallels watching grass grow. Oh, you know, I'm gonna— I'm gonna be that kid here that geeks out on watching paint dry. I actually like seeing watercolors dry and ink dry, um, because it really transforms. Maybe I don't literally sit there for hours to watch it dry, but I do like— I love the transformation that happens. So hang in there, be patient, it'll— it's worth the transformation. I wonder if you were going to add pink. Yep, I got some pink. Of course, your pink is my Payne's Gray, 100%. You are a riot. You're so silly. That is so true. Payne's Gray is your signature. I think pink is still my signature. I don't know, what do you— what do you guys think? It might be shifting. No, I still got to put pops of pink. I, I can't shift away from it. Let me zoom out a smidge. All right guys, I'm going to wrap in like a minute here, so if you have any last questions, comments— it's 10:30, I am as beat as an egg in an omelet, and I don't like eggs. So, and do you beat eggs when you make an omelet? I don't even know. Or you just do crack them open and throw them on a pan. I'm not an egg cooker. I can cook a lot of things but not eggs. Um, one last thing I want to— you know what, I want to throw down some shadows, and I'm just going to actually use my sepia marker here. I haven't used it in a while. Uh, okay, so, so Teacher Appreciation Week is a national week. That's good to know. I am here. That is good to know. Makes me sad to think of, um, there was this gentleman— I've told this story before— there was this gentleman, um, someone I used to talk to. I don't talk to anymore. Um, he was basically telling me one day how overpaid I was. Basically, he was ranting to me about how teachers are overpaid. Um, it was the most disgusting conversation I've ever had about a career with someone, and he was complaining about paying the taxes to the teachers. And I live in the same town, by the way. I don't know where this man is right now, but he— it was just so sad to hear him complaining about paying taxes to teachers. And, uh, and he had children that went through the school system, so he was retired. And I don't understand what he was hating on teachers for. But there's a lot of people that think that way. Um, there's a lot of careers and professions that are underrated, underappreciated. So instead of judging, I think we need to reflect on what people are actually doing and putting out there. Yeah, look at that sepia. I like it's pulling the shadows out. DB said, I did a winter farm painting using sepia and Payne's gray only. Um, I don't think I've seen— I don't know if I've seen that one. Let me— DB, is that something you've posted? Let me know. It's not popping into my brain. If not, it's something I would love to see. All right, I'm almost done, guys. I'm fading away. Yeah, I like this one. It's kind of fun, just a quick imaginary, um, kind of hill town. Let's flip back through a couple of the other ones we've done and we'll wind up for the night, guys. Thank you for joining me on this really quick livestream, late livestream. It's one of those days where time got away from me. Dai nap today? I don't know, I don't remember you napping today. Maybe I did. Um, here's just a couple. I'll do a flip through, see some of the ones we've worked on. Yeah, I really could use— I think purple would look good on these, uh, for the shadows, but I don't have it right now. There's a couple more in here. If you guys like what you're watching, please give me a thumbs up, like, subscribe, whatever platform you're on, follow me. I'd love for that so, so much, uh, especially YouTube, guys. I'm trying to— I'm focusing a little more on YouTube. I'm not saying I'm leaving Facebook or Instagram by any means. I'm definitely posting there. Uh, but sometimes my live streaming software has issues with Facebook. I don't know why, but, uh, if you can't find me, you always check YouTube or subscribe on YouTube because that seems to be the most reliable streaming platform for me right now. Yeah guys, this has been really cool. I'm loving this. I actually really like this sketch too. It's not a hilltop— hill town, but I like it. All right guys, if you have any final questions, comments, put them in the chat. As I clean up, we're going to close the sketchbook here, close our Lockbee field journal for the night. Love this thing so much, man. Thank you, Lockbee. I know the man is— he's praising his, uh, his field journal here. All right, all right guys, should we do the heart cam? I don't know if I'll do the heart to heart cam. I got my glasses on. Let's see. All right, we'll wrap. We gotta wrap with the heart to heart. It's a new tradition I'm trying here. All right, you're catching me in my, uh, nighttime mode here. A hat and glasses. All right, let's do this wrap-up. Are we on? Oh, there I am. I'm on the camera. All right, good. Hey, um, I like this heart-to-heart camera thing. I think it's a fun way and a closer connecting way to end these live streams here. Um, yeah, I just wanna Let's just wrap up. I always like to speak from the heart here. Um, first of all, endless gratitude for your time and your patience with me, my stumbling, bumbling, fumbling, um, creative brain that jumps all over the place. I really appreciate your patience and your time with me. It's huge and it means, it means the world. Um, second, don't let the naysayers of the world bring your spirits down, your morale down. This is nothing— this is a comment about just humanity in general. I don't care if it's someone next to you at the grocery store, or I don't know, a stranger you pass on the street. We need to be the positive people, set the example. And however you can bring a little bit of joy into the world Do it. We need to do it. Um, all right, so live from your heart and from your art. All right, guys, till we meet again, sketch boldly, live creatively, and embrace imperfection. More to come about that philosophy. On my upcoming podcast being released June 1st. That's my goal I set for myself. All right guys, see you soon.
