Hello, happy Thursday. Hope you're doing well. I'm on just really quickly to do a nice fun sketch tonight before I head off to sleepy land. I'm also testing out some tech for a new community page I'm setting up. So I'm streaming there and here at the same time. Hope you're having a great day today. And let's see, let's put on some music and do some sketching. Don't know what I'm going to sketch yet. Let's put on some tunes. Hopefully it's not too loud. Let me lower it. Let me know if the music's too loud if you're watching. I haven't played music in a while, but I just— I actually just created some songs on GarageBand, or I've created some in the past as well. These are just some tunes I kind of made up. Yeah, made up using the GarageBand app. So, you hear all kinds of musical stuff happening. I am not a musician by any means. I don't even know how to play an instrument. But I like messing around with the GarageBand app and just putting all these different tracks and things together. It's fun. So if you watched me last night, I did a really cool sketch of the Brooklyn Bridge, um, with just throwing down some colors and sketching on top of it, which was really fun. So I thought tonight I would just throw some more colors down and we'll just see what happens. It is 9:32. I'm probably gonna wrap up at like 9— I'm gonna say 9:45 latest. So, uh, so like I said, the music, the music might be a little funky tonight. I'm just playing some GarageBand tracks that I had made up, so there's all kinds of wacky things. And I found the yellow! I was looking for yellow yesterday. And here it is. Ta-da! We got some yellow. I knew I had a yellow creative marker somewhere. All right, cool. All right, looks like the tech is working. Looks like I'm able to live stream on my community page and here on YouTube and Facebook. That is so cool. Now I know. So let's see. Hey, we'll sketch— we'll sketch vertical today. It's just sketch, uh, put a sketch of random— sketch a building maybe here. That marker's no bueno. That one's not good either. I've I have some Sharpies here I need to replace or trash. I have, uh, let's see, let's try this one. What the heck? There's like— these Sharpies not working. Let's go grab another one. Alright, let's do this again. There we go. We'll throw a water tower in here. Let me zoom in so you guys can see this a little closer. Let me get some kind of funky water tower. Buildings happening. I just wanted to come on, just get some lines down on paper here before I go to sleep. Sketching is a great way for me to wind down the day, and it gets my mind in a different, in a different place. And I just love sketching something every day, whether I do it online or not online, I usually will sketch something because I just love— I love doing it. There's some maybe windows in here. Cool. All right, I think you can turn off this livestream here. Awesome. It looks like it was working. Perfect. Yeah, this is fun. I think I'm going to pull that water tower out with, um, let me grab another color in here. Maybe we'll throw— maybe we'll use orange to pull out that water tower. It's kind of hidden back in here. I think that helped. We'll do some kind of contour lines, a little bit of vertical line so it looks kind of roundish. There we go. I like that. So I'm literally just grabbing and going with whatever colors I have nearby. It just keeps me— it keeps me in the groove rather than kind of thinking about what I want to pick up or what I want to use or going to search for something. That might be somewhere else in the studio here. When I first started sketching online, uh, live, um, gosh, how many years ago? 4, maybe 4 years ago. I would do these just really random city skylines, um, and they were so much fun to do. I haven't done them in such a long time. This is kind of what I would do, um, but it was fun just to come on, just kind of scribble, and it was very abstract. And I would try to make a cityscape out of the abstract sketches. So I'm just having like some memories of when I first started. To sketch online and it was so fun and I would have people watching and everybody would see something different in those skylines, which was so fun to see how people would use their imaginations and pick out different shapes. Sometimes— a lot of times people would actually see like faces in the skylines. It was so cool. Maybe I'll do one of those again sometime soon. And especially the Inklings out there, you guys would definitely remember that. Let me zoom out, you can see a little bit wider there. Excuse me. All right. As you can see, I'm really throwing down a lot of different, uh, colors on here. I'm just kind of going with my gut and grabbing. Hey, D-Ray, yes, it was fun to see things in your Drawings. Hey D-Ray, you remember that? That's so cool. Um, it's great to see you. Hope all is well. Hope all is well. Thank you for your nice comments, um, yesterday, or maybe it was today, or maybe it was both. I don't know, I'm going crazy. Um, my brain's— you can probably hear it in my voice. I am, I'm tired. I am so wiped out. I'm like, I'm— it's okay, I'm not complaining about it. I'm just so tired. I need a— I literally need a whole entire day to sleep in. It's like a dream. That'd be a dream, sleep in one entire day this weekend. But it's all good. All right, cool. What we'll do is, uh, I'll put some frames around this like I did last night on the Brooklyn Bridge. This is really very loosey-goosey. I'm not trying to recreate anything specific. It's a wonky imagination kind of sketch here. Let's see, I'm so happy I did find the yellow The yellow, uh, marker. I was trying to find it yesterday. It was hiding on me. I know what I want to do. Let's see, let's throw down some— I still don't have any music on. I just— the music I was playing stopped. I just realized that. It's really weird for me to sketch without music on. Cool. What's fun about this is you can get as crazy as you want. Busy, crazy. And there are no wrong answers. Sketching loose and fast and wonky. Allows me so much freedom because I'm not trying to get to some kind of right answer or right conclusion with what I'm making here on the paper. The only thing I'm trying to do is, uh, the only thing I want to do really is just have fun, is have fun throwing these colors down. So mission accomplished. I'm having a A lot of fun doing this. All right, cool. Now let's zoom in on it a little bit. You know what, let's actually make— got a little too much white happening, too much, a little bit too much white space. So let's just put some blocks of more solid colors here. And it also will help just this kind of side of the building to pop out a little bit more, I think. I'm actually liking that pink color. Let's put some on here too. There we go. And I want to pull out these buildings a little bit here, so I'm going to grab a black marker and we'll just kind of pull this edge out a little bit. Maybe this building's a little more in front of the other one, so that black line really will just pop it out. Kind of pop it out here as well. On that side. We'll throw down some lines like this. Maybe these are windows. It's kind of little tick marks here. Tick, tick, tick, tick. We'll throw some windows in here. And I want to— I do want to do some of the kind of these vertical lines here just to kind of make it look like that tower is curving a little bit. All right. Ta-da! I think this one's finished. Let's break out a frame or two and see what it looks like. And this was just a quick, quick— just wanted to get on, throw some lines down, throw some color down, change that state of mind here, get me ready for nighttime. Some people like to read before bedtime. Some people like to plan the following day, and that's all cool. I like, I like to sketch before I go to sleep. All right, so this frame down, and let me zoom in. Bum bum bum bum bum. I kind of like that one song. Let's see, play this one one more time. I'm really digging this with the frame. I think it looks super cool. Oh yeah. Let's bring the Brooklyn Bridge here next to it and zoom out. Do a little— this could be like, this could be a whole new series of different NYC sketches. There we go. Actually, if you put these together, they're really cool companion pieces, even though this one really isn't New York City on the right. It's still an urban city vibe, right? Like the Brooklyn Bridge here. Cool. This might be my new theme song. So there you go. So we have the Brooklyn Bridge and we have this kind of New York-inspired, no particular buildings, same technique as last night. And it's fun. So it's— I'm just trying to mix it up. You know, I love sketches you guys see me do all the time. With the mixed media, the watercolor, color pencils, the inks, the black and white sketches. So, you know, I have these markers here, so I figured why not break them out and just try something different, right? As artists, we tend to buy lots of different tools and papers and brushes and stuff, and sometimes they just kind of sit around or sit in the drawers or in a closet somewhere. Don't be afraid to break out that stuff and just play around and use it. It's all about the exploration, about the journey, about the creating part for me. It's not always about the end result. All right, you guys are awesome. Thank you so much for watching tonight. I appreciate you all so, so much. Let's play that song one more time. Let's see if it's like a good outro song. I hope you guys like that. Let me know if you like these, these kind of colorful sketches I've been doing yesterday and today. And I'm super excited for Saturday night. Saturday night is my wonky, wonky barn sketching workshop. Registration, registration is closed. Looks like we have about 12 people in there, I think. Super, super excited. Some new faces, I'm really excited about that. Some old faces, always excited to see my friends that show up for the workshops. It's gonna be a lot of fun. So, I'm looking forward to hanging out on Zoom, doing some wonky barn sketching. That's gonna be a really cool time. I'll fill you guys in, maybe I'll show you some of the sketches that we do. And yeah, so this is, uh, this has been Jason with the Inkspired Life. Remember, use your creativity for positivity. Appreciate you guys so, so much. Have a great, great rest of your day. Peace and live creatively. Thank you, D-Ray, it's always great to see you here in the chat. I really appreciate you so much. Thank you. You're amazing. Take care, guys. Remember, if you can sketch lines, if you can scribble, you can draw architecture. Take care. We'll see ya.
