Sketching Something Sunday

Jason Nicholas sketches the London Guarantee Building, a 1920s neoclassical structure in Chicago, in a five-minute live session. Between art segments, speakers reflect on being human and celebrate a coffee-cake hybrid called café sable with playful, poetic energy.

Do. I'm stumbling, I'm rising, falling, realizing. I'm changing, still fighting, still learning, still trying. No script, no plan, no perfect version. This is simply being human. This is Simply Being Human. No script, no plan, no perfect version. This is simply being human. This is simply being human. I'm not here to be flawless. I'm not here to pretend. I'm here to keep moving again and again. I'm here to keep choosing the life I can stand, the life that's my own. I'm still becoming, still becoming. I'm stalling, I'm rising. And realizing I'm changing. Still fighting, still learning, still trying. No script, no plan, no perfect version. This is simply being human. This is simply being human.
Hey, good morning, happy Sunday. Hope you're doing well. I'm, uh, on— I'm usually— I'm rarely on this time, so, uh, if you're watching live, that's great. I appreciate it. I see Sally's in the house. Good to see you. I'm just sketching, uh, for— I'm gonna get a sketch done that I need for later today, so I figured I'd pop on, uh, and sketch just for a few minutes and kind of add some things to this. Um, this is, this is a part of the, uh— oh my gosh, what's the name of the building? The— I gotta look it up. This is part of the The London Guarantee Building in Chicago. Yeah, that's why I had to look it up, because I didn't want to get the Chicago and London mixed up. So yeah, it's a, uh, it's a cool neoclassical building in Chicago, built 1920s, I think. Um, and it's just a close-up of it. I did some other sketches today I can show you. Here's another kind of version of a smaller section. And then here we got some sketches. Here's kind of an overview of the entire building. So right now I'm just sketching like this area kind of right here. So that'll be fun, just pop on and, um, sketch. Not for too long, probably like 5 minutes. So I hope you're having an awesome Sunday.
Best dang cover ever. This cup turns bad days good. This is the best tank cover ever. Bold enough to fix whatever. One sip in and I'm brand new. Woke my soul like lightning blue. Best tank cover ever made. Heaven poured in, poured in. Brand new, my soul like lightning flew. Best thing cover ever made. Heaven poured in, perfectly laid in joy and flavor. This is it, yeah, this comes to party head. The perfect cake! Sugar free honey, and then that's when you know you've got the pastry blues. The pastry blues. The pastry blues. You've got the pastry blues. Eyes wide in awe, said, I think that's the greatest thing I ever saw. Some guy whispered, was that destiny? Another shouted, bro, sign my coffee. Then a monk in line on the sacred tone, Gregorian magic shaking cups Yeah, I changed some lives. Spotlight hits, steam curls above, a moment written by caffeine and love. If life had bosses, I'd have beat this stage. A pastry called the café sable. And the café cheered, the legend crowned. They'll tell the story every time they gather round. Triumphant hearts, epic glory. Monk Champs in reprise. Yeah, I caught that pastry. Yeah, I changed some lives.
