The Inkspired Life - Sketching & Painting : Inking Out Loud

Artist Jason Nicholas sketches live on his porch for 25,000 viewers, testing inks and leads on watercolor paper while sharing stories from his University of Miami days. He demonstrates a Lamy Safari pen, Koh-I-Noor lead holder, and a custom Color Randomizer LED, showing how different supplies behave together.

Testing, 1, 2, 3. Hey, can you hear me? Let me know. I'm playing around with this mic over here. Hey, you can hear me! Awesome! Hey, good morning guys, that's so cool! Thank you for letting me know. I found the setting, this is awesome! So as you can see, I'm outside here on my porch, um, just enjoying a little bit of morning light, and I'll do a little sketch. Hey Karen, good to see you from California. Dawn, good to see you on here. I'm trying to format my screen so I can see all the comments in the chat. So if I miss you, I'm sorry. I can only see like 2 comments at a time here in the chat box. So, all right, now I can see 4 or 5. Janice, good to see you. Good morning, guys, are awesome. All right, you hear typing too? That's so funny. All right, let's do some sketching. So I have this microphone here, it might be really sensitive, so let me know if you hear too much background noise because I can mute myself and the background noise and just play the music. Let's do some sketching. I'm actually going to use my Lamy. I have a Lamy Safari pen here I've had for a long long time. Um, let's do some sketching. Hopefully you guys can see this. I can't see what you're seeing on screen right now, but let me know if you cannot see this or if you can. I'm just sketching on 140-pound watercolor paper. Always good to see you guys popping in here. Hope you're having a nice Saturday morning. Hey, to all of my workshop inklings, holy cow, the castles you guys have been posting your sketches and paintings of are off the charts. Off the charts. Wow, I'm so excited for tonight's workshop, and we'll do our show and tell. You guys are incredible. All right, so I'm sketching just a little skyline scene here. All right, trying to know how can I see what you guys are seeing. This is really weird, my screen is not letting me see what you're seeing, so I hope you're seeing my sketch. Um, what do you got going here? Yay, Water Tower, good to see you again. All right, good, so you can see what I'm sketching. I might have to go to my— come here, I can see it actually. So just have a water brush, I'm gonna bleed some of this ink. Hopefully the lighting's okay out here. It's a little overcast. I like this ink because it bleeds really nicely. I never thought— I never thought I'd be saying I like something bleeding, but When ink, ink bleeds, it's pretty cool. People, not so much. So I have a little bit of show and tell. I'll break that out in a sec. Something from my college days that I pulled out.
Cool.
So I'm using this new software. I don't know what the delay time is from me talking to when you guys are hearing this, but if you take a look, I love the way this is bleeding like right in here.
Here.
Might be a little hard to see. Let's see if I can come a little closer, like right in this area here. Cool. I wish I could see a live preview, like, so what I can see what I'm showing you. Awesome bleeding shadows. Thank you, Becky. Clear and bright on the pad. Hey, thank you, Genesis. Janice, that's awesome. You guys are amazing. Voice seems in sync. Thank you guys for your, uh, tech feedback. I really appreciate it because I have no way of gauging what it's looking like on your end. Yeah, this, this really is bleeding nicely here. Alright, let me just break out some show and tell. I'm gonna see if I can see full screen interface, maybe. Playing around with some buttons on my computer screen. Oh, hey, now I can see the live view. The chat box is huge, but that's cool. Alright. So this is, um, I may have showed this to you guys before. This is an ArtBin container. I've had it since college, so I mean, I finished college in '94, so it's pretty old. But what I like about it, it's pretty cool for— I like to put all my kind of pens and stuff in it. I'll open it up and show you. You have to be careful opening this because its design is a little tricky, and I'll show you why in a second.
But oops.
So if you open it, it has some really nice compartments in here. So I just have some pens on one side, some refillable leads. I have this really cool lead holder here. Maybe we'll do some sketching with this. You can replace these leads. It has another smaller compartment on this side here. I keep the refillable ink cartridges in there. But here's the bonus. If you lift this little tab here— I thought it was a candy bar. I wish it was a candy bar. This would be a really delicious candy bar. Janus, it does look like that. Um, yeah, it looks new with the sticker on the front. It does look new. So you gotta be careful. So you open this little flap. It's very dramatic music for this presentation. Let me know if the music is too loud or not loud enough. But anyway, you flip this open and you have all these other little compartments right here in the lid. So I have graphite sticks, some brushes, more pens. Some leads for my little lead holder pencil. These are different points for ink pens and compasses. So here's— this is like a little ink pen with removable tips on it. So I could pull this tip out here. Ooh, it's kind of stuck in there. Well, trust me, I could pull this tip out and I could replace it with other tips if I wanted. But one of the things— this is really awesome— but one of the things I've learned to be careful with is over time is when you open this, sometimes I have a habit of opening this flap, and when I do that, everything in this top part spills out. So you got to be careful how you open it. Yeah, this is cool. It's Arpin. I don't even know if you can make it any— if they make them anymore. Like I said, this is pretty old. Yeah, I left the sticker on there like Becky said. So I just want to show you guys that. So it's a pretty cool case. Let's play around with this. I have this— it's a lead holder. Koh-I-Noor is the company that makes it. There is a sticker on here, but I don't know the exact I can't really read it. And this is just a multicolor kind of lead tip. It actually almost feels like a crayon, so it might be almost like a wax pastel. Let's play around with this a little bit on here. I'll just flip this over. We'll do a little sketch on the bottom. I'll zoom in closer. Hey, Becky's going to Maine! That's awesome. Putting way more thought into packing art supplies than clothes. I hear you. That's funny. I— that is so awesome. I'm so jealous. Maine is probably— it is probably my favorite destination for a vacation. But I am not going there this year, unfortunately. But we're going to Disney, which is awesome, so I'm not going to complain. Disney is our winter trip. Anyway, if you look at this, let me know if you guys can see that. Maybe I gotta zoom in closer. I have to focus. This is like a manual focus, and part of my finger is in the way. Hey Deborah, good morning guys. Let me know if you— music, yes or no, just put Y, put yes or no in the chat. Let me know if you'd like to hear the music. So this is cool. So you can see the different colors. It's got some reds and blues, some yellows, some greens it looks like. And I'm just going to sketch around there for a minute and you let you guys just see what it looks like. You know, you can kind of rotate it as you're sketching. So if you see like a blue color you like, you can kind of stay there, or you can just kind of spin it around and get different colors. All kinds of effects you can create with it. So is it water soluble? I don't know. I was just thinking about that. We'll try it. Hey, thank you! Good to see you guys in here. Daughter's bringing her camera. Oh, awesome, Becky! Thank you. Yeah. Love to see the photos that your daughter takes. So cool. My heart is always in Maine, always. I, I do think, and I'm not even kidding, I think about Maine at least once a day. Hey, we may have a visitor. Looks like Red Bull, my cat, might come out. And say hello. "Low music is fine, not too loud." Thanks, Janice. Red Bull's making his way onto the porch, I think. Red Bull is my cat, if you haven't met him. And my— eh, he might not come out. We'll see. Anyway, so this is kinda cool, just sketching maybe a Abstract Skyline. But let's see if this color is water-soluble. Actually, I don't think— is this the box for these? It is. So this is the box for these. It's called Gioconda 6 Artist Leads. Koh-I-Noor is the company that makes them. I'm trying to read. It's in all different languages here. I don't really know much more than that, but let's play around. I have some water, an Aqua Brush. Let's see if it's water soluble. Uh, not really. So it looks like it's not really— I'm getting a little bit of runoff, but that just might be I'm just seeing the water, so it's not really water— they're not really water soluble, which is cool. It's good to know, right? Sometimes you have to just play around, learn what you're using. Here's actually— let's try this. What does it look like if I just put some water here? I try to draw on top of the water. Oh, you kind of get a little bleeding, so you could do it that way. Maybe lay down the water first and go on top of it. This is a really, really fun pencil because it leaves, leaves, you know, things up to chance, kind of. You don't know what kind of results you're gonna get. So some people, you know, if you like to pre-plan your colors, which a lot of us do, which is normal, try something different. Don't pre-plan your colors, just go random. So this is like the Random Color Generator LED. Random Color Generator V1.0. Maybe, maybe Koh-I-Noor could use that in some of their marketing. Um, yeah, so this case I showed you guys before from my college days has a lot of good memories and a lot of, uh, stressful memories too. College was interesting when it came to my architecture classes and sketching. Um, the professors were really, really, really critical of our drawing and sketching techniques, which I guess is fine, right? I'm in university learning how to sketch architecture. Um, but they were really I would say 75% of them are really not nice in the way they would talk to us and kind of scold us for drawing things improperly. Um, and my big takeaway from that is that's how I don't want to teach and how I, I am not teaching my students. There's a way of critiquing people in a pleasant kind of manner. You don't have to be so aggressive and kind of nasty. Um, did it make me a better architect in the end? I don't know. I don't, I don't think it did, actually. It made me more aware of empathy and how to understand people and how to talk to people and listen. More importantly, listen to people. So that was a big thing I took away from college. Um, but you know what, some of those professors, I have to say, were extremely gifted and talented. Um, and I feel like maybe they were frustrated in trying to teach us their knowledge, and they took their frustrations out on us sometimes. You know, teaching is not easy, so I'm not blaming anybody, but there are all kinds of different methods. I know I'm going off on a riff here. Hope that's cool. What do you guys think of this pencil? You like the way the effects it's coming up with? You know, it's— you know I love my loose sketchy lines and this really lends itself to that kind of quick loose sketchiness. There's a lot of energy I feel in this sketch. The way the lines are moving. Right, a lot of kind of energetic vibe. All right, let me go in the comment questions here or the chat box. Hey Patty, good to see you. Chris, good to see you. Hey Kim, hi. Red Bull, I love it. Yes, Red Bull, he did not come out. Red Bull is my cat, so he was originally named after— actually, let me show you the sketch here. Well, we're talking about Red Bull. You guys may have seen me post this one. So Red Bull was originally named after the soccer team, the New Jersey Red Bulls, but his name has since shifted. He's 6, I think, now. So Red Bull now refers to the energy drink because he has a lot of energy, especially when it comes to scratching our furniture. So Red Bull was an appropriate name for him. So let's talk about this sketch for a second, or two, or three. This was done with my Sharpie, and did I bring it out here? I don't know if I brought it out here. So I don't think I brought it out here, sorry, but this was done with watercolor ink, but a nickel color watercolor ink. Looks kind of sepia tone, but it's actually, um, nickel, and it has some metallic flecks in it which you can see in certain lights. And this is kind of a different sketch for me. I'm really starting to get in more and more back into sketch journaling, and this was just a scene that came to me uh, one day when I was sitting out here on the porch, actually. And I wanted to keep it kind of a clean sketch. And you guys know I'm really great with animals— not. Um, so that's why most of the cat is behind the computer screen. And it looks kind of like a rabbit cat with his ears. But I thought it'd be fun just to do this little scene just to create a sense of place, right? So you know, some kind of computer desk area. I have some kind of plant here. This is all imagination, by the way. This is not a scene or anything that I was looking at. This came from my brain. But I want to create kind of a cozy nook, computer nook, or writing desk area maybe. So this was a kind of a fun sketch to do, and it's— I like it because it's really only the black ink and this Nickel Watercolor Ink. Just the two colors on there. It's a very clean sketch compared to this, right? I mean, this has very few colors. The lines are a little more wonky and wavy, especially this one here. I mean, this is crazy with color. So sometimes it's fun to play around with different color palettes, try to go crazy, go wild like this here. Maybe go simple. Or maybe go somewhere in between. Hopefully that's making sense. Red Bull Janice says hi to Red Bull. If I'm missing your comments, sorry guys, I can only see a few on my screen at a time here. Um, positive feedback is important for growth. Yeah, I agree. What college? Um, I went to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. I was— I lived down there for 5 years and it was awesome. Coral Gables is a really beautiful area. It's kind of affluent, um, you know, I'm just saying that because it affects the style, the houses and the architecture. Everything's really kind of beautiful and well-kept. And the campus— I had a choice when I went to college of— let me do some sketching while I'm talking here. I had a choice of when I went to college of either going to Syracuse or University of Miami based on scholarships. They both were providing the same amount of scholarships, and I went to visit Syracuse in, um, I think it was end of April. It's a kind of college tour, and it was snowing, um, and I had— so I had a choice between either going somewhere where it was snowing or this incredible, beautiful campus with palm trees for about the same cost. I see a face here, actually. Do you guys see a face happening here? So I picked the University of Miami. It was a huge risk because— and I am not a risk-taker— I had never visited the campus. I went to a presentation here in New Jersey They had a presentation somewhere, college fair. I saw a video about the campus and that was it. I had never actually visited before I signed up to go there, applied to go there. And I'm from a small suburban town, you know, I was what, 18, 17, 18, 18, I don't even remember. And had really never been anywhere on my own. So for me, going to a different state by myself was a really awesome, life-changing experience. I got to learn a lot about myself and, you know, things. I learned some good things, a lot of good things, a lot of great things I learned, actually. I learned what bad habits to stay away from, and it just helped me to become more independent. And actually, let me, I'm gonna change this, put my international tunes on here, if I could figure out how to minimize my screen. Uh-oh. Hey, if you guys are, let me know if you're enjoying this. Give me a thumbs up, say hello in the chats. I know I'm talking a lot today, I hope that's cool. I am trying to, uh, oh man, I can't— trying to minimize the screen on my computer so I can— by the way, I don't know if— sorry if you've been looking at my profile or the top of my head. I'm just trying to—
oh, what did I do?
So I'm trying to minimize my screen, I want to switch my music stream, but So if you guys are just tuning in, I'm using a new desktop software today. I'm just trying it out and I'm fiddling around here on the computer screen. I'm trying to escape and get a view of my— weird. Ctrl+Alt. Hopefully I don't end anything here. Hey guys, how are you doing? Ooh, this is really interesting. I'm trying to zoom out and I can't. Oh, I just did it! Yes! All right, so let's play. I want to go to my international soundtrack here.
There we go.
All right, cool. I'm getting the hang of this stuff. So one of the things I loved about going to Miami was it was a very international school. I had friends from Malaysia, from Korea, from Cuba, from Barbados, Jamaica, of course all across the US. Spain. So that was one of the really awesome benefits about going to the University of Miami is it just was so eclectic and I got to meet all kinds of people and different cultures and customs and foods and it was very eye-opening for, you know, this boring kid from suburban New Jersey. It really made me learn to appreciate the world in different ways. And to just, you know, slow down and just observe things more. I have to say, my biggest takeaway ever in college is I feel like I can learn something from everyone I meet. Like, there's always a takeaway we can get from everybody we encounter. Even if it's someone we just run into briefly at the supermarket. Just don't run into them with your shopping cart. Um, but there's always something we can learn or take away, you know, even if it's a habit or something that some— something that someone's doing that we don't want to incorporate. Or maybe someone has an inspiring story, or even you could just take away their energy. I mean, look at the way someone smiles at you. Um, so that's kind of one of the things I try to live by, is taking away and learning something from everyone I meet, and hopefully, and hopefully paying that back. I mean, I'm always— I try to put good out there, and that's just kind of what my nature is. Cool. So what do you guys think, guys? Do you guys like this, this sketch? I love I love the way this ink is bleeding with this kind of skyline scene. So I think— feel like I'm all over the place chatting this morning, but I hope that's cool with you guys. Maybe because I'm freshly caffeinated. Yeah, this is looking cool. I really love using Aqua brushes as well. Um, sometimes it takes a while to get the hang of them. You know, when you squeeze the reservoir here, you know, more water comes out. So it's kind of a sense— it's a sensitive thing, but you develop a feel for it after a while. You know, if you want to add a lot of water, you can squeeze it hard, or if you don't want to add any water, just don't squeeze it at all. I know it sounds logical, right? But it's, uh, it's just for me, I feel like they're very convenient, but especially since I don't have a cup of water here with me. I love water towers. So I'm just trying to create some light shadows or grays in the background here, just trying to create a sense of depth with this, right? We have some darker areas, we have some lighter areas going on. All right, let me check, see what you guys are chatting about. Love your Red Bull sketches. Hey, thank you, Becky. "Teaching is its own talent. Not everyone can teach no matter how talented they are." Oh, hey, thank you. That's nice of you to say. Teaching is a challenge. It's something you gotta love doing. And I am not good at it. And I have to say, Becky, you guys, and Patty, and Dawn, I don't know if anybody else is on from our workshops, but you guys are all amazing teachers as well. Thank you so much for your sharing. You guys inspire me. Looks like Linda might be on. Hey, Linda! Sue! Looks like Sue might be on. You guys are awesome. Hey, I love the simplicity and complexity at the same time. Hey, that's awesome. Let me know if you're talking about this skyline sketch here. I'm gonna start— I'm gonna add some texture on these buildings. Maybe some kind of brickwork or something. Oh, got you, the evolution of the castle. Oh, you guys, like I said, um, hey Kim, good to see you. I thought you said rebel. Hey Janice, yeah, it does sound like rebel. It's actually Red Bull. Red Bull. That's so funny. He is a rebel, um, for sure. Yeah, you guys, um, the castle— wonky castle sketches from the workshop are incredible. Um, so much fun. The latest one I saw was Sue's castle with the reflections. That was awesome, off the charts awesome. Um, uh, you guys are just— we're definitely gonna do our show and tell tonight. We'll talk about them. Just amazing things. I know Patty did some creative and kind of 3D modeled a castle with stuff in her kitchen. That was awesome. You guys are just incredible. Becky has all these colors and You know, Linda with her small sketches. Thank you guys for bringing your A-game. When you guys bring your A-game, it makes me— forces me— inspires me, I should say, to bring my A-game plus, right? I feel like I need some kind of smokestacks in here somewhere, kind of a factory vibe. What I like about this LAMY pen is I can get really fine lines if I want to, like these kind of brickwork I'm sketching in here where I can get really heavy lines. Let's flip over. I know I'm kind of multitasking, but this was the other sketch we did with this. So one of the things I like to do, um, is after I do this kind of an abstract sketch like this, is I'll come back and try to pull out shapes that I see in here. So let's use our Lamy and try to pull out some shapes.
What time is it?
10:51. I'm going to wrap up at 11. Thank you guys for tuning in. This was just kind of a test. I wanted to see if I can get this streaming software to work this morning. Um, I tried to do a live stream last week, and I think of the week before, from one of my favorite places in New Jersey Botanical Gardens, and it wasn't really successful. So I'm just trying to learn new techniques and new technology to help me be out and about more and stream some sketching sessions. So you can see I'm just kind of outlining some of these shapes with my— with the pen. I'm not being 100% true to what the shapes I'm seeing, but they're just influencing, they're inkspiring. Get it? Inkspiring? Yeah, it's a joke. Inkspiring, um, where I'm putting down the black. And then we'll do a little bleeding on top of this and see what happens. So you guys know I am obsessed with drawing skylines. It's my— just my natural go-to. Hey guys, if you're watching, hello! If I didn't say hello yet, I'm sorry. I not able to see everybody's names when pops on the screen here. I think there are like 25,000 viewers right now watching.
No, I'm kidding.
You know, for me it's not about the amount of people watching, it's really about the quality of person watching. And I am so blessed to have such amazing, high-quality, imaginative, friendly people like you guys just tuning in and commenting and sharing. I really appreciate it, guys. All right, cool. So I laid out some pens so you can kind of see, right, how some of those shapes pop out a little more with the pen.
Let's check that out.
And just checking the tech here, make sure everything's up and going. Hey, you guys, if you're watching, let me know, say hello in the comments. I want to make sure the stream is working here. All right. Let's throw down some water. And I have to be careful because I don't want to cover up all the cool colors happening. So just kind of give it maybe a light wash in some places, kind of like me this morning. I gave myself a light wash in some places. No, I'm just kidding. All right, well This isn't a show about personal hygiene, right? It's a show about creativity, sketching, painting, posit— you know, I like to think of this as more than a, uh, just a creativity kind of show. Sketch— more than sketching and painting. I want it to be kind of a, kind of a mindset, mind growth kind of My words are very choppy because I'm sketching and listening to music. I want to be kind of a mindset show as well, and just how to see the world differently and how to see the world positively, how to pay it forward positively and all that good stuff. So hopefully, hopefully I'm bringing some of that to the table and you guys are taking getting to take away some of that as well. So you can see I'm just adding, I'm not really going too nuts, just putting in some black here and there. Break out this cool colored pencil again. Hey, my music stopped. Hope I don't lose my internet. Hmm, it is possible. We have very wonky internet here. There it goes.
Alright, cool.
Alright, so I'm gonna use some more of this colored pencil on here. Again, I like this multicolor tip on here. It's just fun. It's kind of— what do we call it before— the Color Randomizer V1.0. We're using the Color Randomizer. I'm trying to have a lot of sense of energy with this, with the skyline.
The music take over here for a minute.
Sue— if Sue Kane is out there, you— Sue, you've inspired me to try to maybe do some reflections down here. Maybe this is on the, uh, the river, maybe the Hudson River. It's not really a— not trying to recreate the New York City skyline, but let's just say that's a city at the edge of a river. It's our Inkspired City. So I'm just grabbing some of that ink and just pulling it kind of straight down.
I don't want to overdo it, right?
So maybe the water edge is somewhere like up in here. Trying to keep the pen very shaky. There we go, just to create that kind of energy feel. The color randomizer. Yes, Patty, I got the color randomizer. We are randomizing some colors. Cool. Hey, there we go. So let me know if you guys like this. I have a— I have a poll. It's poll time, it's question time. If you are watching, put in the chat right now, do you like— we did two sketches today. You like Sketch A, which is this one, the multicolor sketch, we'll call this A, or do you like Sketch B? Better. A or B? B is kind of the black, white, and gray one. So B— so A is the color one. You can see I'm multitasking on one sheet of paper. B is black and white. I just got a weird message pop up, some kind of bitrate thing or something. It's time to check something. Check my encoder settings. Recommended 2. I don't know what that means. Might mean I'm lagging a little bit. Donald says, I like this a lot. Dawn, thank you, Dawn. Dawn, you're awesome. Hope you are feeling better. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for tuning in. Alright, so, another— be on for another minute or so. Should we do the cowboy outro song today? I don't have my cowboy sketchbook, but you can do it if you want. "Both, but I like B more," Chris says. Hey, B is so cool too. I'm rolling with B today. B is winning. Yeah. "I like your C sketch B with the outlines and colors before." I like sketch overall. Awesome! Another sketch A overall. Thank you guys for your responses. So I am— if I had to pick one, I would pick— I'm with you guys, I like B. B is my favorite one. I like the contrast of the black and whites. You got the grays in there as well. I like that it's kind of empty, not a lot of detail happening. Here. You know, sometimes you feel like if we're drawing a scene, we have to show everything, you know, from top to bottom. If you notice, I don't even have a bottom. These buildings kind of bleed off, so I'm not even finishing the ground level. So I like— I would like B. What I like about A is just the playfulness, and I was trying to capture some energy. Vibe with it, with the lines, so I feel like I got the energy going on here. Oh, so Patty is asking— Patty, A is the color sketch? This is A? That's A? Which means B is the black and white one.
That's okay.
No worries, sometimes I get my letters mixed up too, especially when I'm spelling my name. Yeah, try spelling Jason with like a Z. Zayson. Zayson. All right, Zayson. Sounds French. Zayson. Um, oh, let's look at this upside down, guys. Let's look at Sketch A or B in the black and white one upside down. It's fun to look at your drawings from different views. So when I turn this upside down, I'm actually seeing— what am I seeing? I wish I had my sketch paper. I don't have it. I am seeing— I'll have to trace over it later today. I'm seeing a few things. I'm seeing either vignettes. I'm seeing like a small cityscape vignette right here in upper right. If you look at the overall composition, I am seeing kind of a negative image of the buildings. I'm seeing the white space as skyscrapers here, right? So this would be like a building here, another building, building. So the white would be the buildings in this view. It's always interesting to look at your art from different angles. Upside down is still a skyline with reflections. Yeah, oh, that's— yeah, that's true too. I see that.
You guys are awesome.
Let's look at it sideways. Ooh, cowboy music's on. Alright, let's save this. Let me pause it for a sec. We're gonna pause it because we're gonna wrap up. All right guys, so thank you for watching and tuning in. I appreciate you all so much. We're gonna wrap up with— we're gonna do our little outro sketch that we've been doing, kind of this cowboy sunset sketch. I don't have my cowboy outro sketchbook with me. So I'm just gonna grab a sheet of paper here. This is my other— I think I've showed you guys this with my portable art kit. Let me zoom out. I think I've showed this a bunch of times. This is kind of my metal clipboard, and when I open it, I got little goodies in here. Sketch tiles. Um, let's do— I've been doing the Cowboy Sketches, kind of just regular sketching paper. So let's use this sketch— little sketch pad I have in here. So typically I would have brushes in here and pens and pencils in here as well. Um, I love the clipboards carrying the field with me. Clip the art here and you have a nice surface for painting or drawing on. All right, cool. Hey, this is fun. Thank you guys for letting me tune in Saturday morning and joining me. So we're gonna use this sketchbook. Here's some scenes I did in here, kind of a fun little sketch. A lot of colors happening on this. This is colored pencil. All right, so we're gonna cue up the music and I'm just gonna sketch with whatever I have here on the desk. That's kind of how I end the show. And we'll play the music. Guys, you're awesome! Um, Inkling Workshop, Wonky Workshop peeps, I will see you tonight at 7:30. I posted the Zoom link. Look at the camera. I posted the Zoom link in our group, so I'll be on 7:30. We'll start off with some— it's going to be incredible show and tell tonight. Um, wow, I kind of am speechless about it. You guys are amazing. Um, and then we're gonna just sketch some wonky cottages tonight. So with show and tell and then onto wonky cottages. And then we're gonna talk about our last workshop. Um, we might have to change the date because Rue has an auction on next Friday. That was gonna be our last workshop, but we'll, we'll work, uh, we'll move it to a different time and day. So we'll figure that out tonight. Anyway, thank you guys for watching. I'm gonna cue up the music. Before I do that, I just want to say peace and live creatively. Keep paying it forward with your creativity, guys. You're awesome. I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for watching and liking and sharing this. Let's keep this thing growing because, I don't know, I feel like this is fun and maybe some other people would like it as well. Thanks, guys. All right, we're going to cue up the music and do our little sunset sketch. All right, here we go. Oh, they changed— they changed the name of this music. Used to be a different title. Looks like they changed the title of it.
Did they?
Hold on a sec. Am I playing the right one? Yeah, hold on a sec, let me try something. Are these two different songs? Whoa, did I just figure out I have two different whistling songs on here? Hold on. Welcome to the tech end of things. I feel like I just figured out that I have two different songs. I never knew that. Alright, they have to be different songs, they have different titles. Alright, let's just play. Alright, new discovery, we have two different cowboy songs, which is good to know. Then I can play them back to back and have longer sketch time. Alright guys, with that note, let me play this and do some sketching. We'll figure out this interesting thing later. Have a great day, guys. Thank you for watching. See you soon. I just gotta figure out where the off button is for this. Patty, have a great day. Janice, take care. Dawn, see you. Susie, take care, have a great day. Chris, have an awesome day. If I missed anybody, have an awesome day. Karen, you guys are incredible. See you guys. I'm stalling as I could find the exit button here in this software. Somehow, someway, we will stop the stream.
Awkward pause.
Alright guys, take care, have a great day. I found it.
