Hey, happy Thursday. Hope you're doing well. I don't usually start with this camera view me looking directly or actually you guys see me in my background, but you get a kind of a cool little glimpse of the area behind me. That's where I usually do all my sketching. Back in there, you can see my. A lot of my New York City sketches hanging up there as well. Thought it'd be cool just to give you a little inside peek behind the scenes. And I'm here kind of with a message and also we'll do a quick sketch. So my name is Jason Nicholas, and this is the Ink Spired Life. Let's talk creative mindset. Maybe creative practices or habits. I am tired. It's been a long, long day. I am exhausted, just drained. And I'm not saying that as a complaint. It's just, it's been a busy day. We all have those kinds of days, right? I was gonna go to sleep tonight without sketching and I stopped to think for a minute. If I missed my sketching time, it just wouldn't be the same. I try to make at least 10 minutes a day just to set aside to do some kind of a sketch. Even if it's just scribbling nothingness, it's just getting stuff out of here onto paper. So join me for a few minutes as I kind of push through the tiredness and continue thought that creative mindset, that creative push, and we'll see where it goes. All right, let's switch to the desktop view. Just noticed there were some cool light streaks on that shot. Pretty fun. I'm actually going to listen to some music. Pardon the noise, a couple of things. One, I have a different setup right now. So I'm not using my awesome clear sounding microphone, just recording right off my laptop mic. And you might hear that noise in the background. That is a 3D printer going. So I am 3D printing the lid to a box I designed for my colored pencils. So yes, sorry about the noise. All right, let's do this and put some tunes on and we'll see what happens. Again, I might just be. You might scribble and not. Don't have any intentions other than just putting something on paper. All right, so I'm just scribbling tonight. Nothing in particular, Just having fun. Like I said when I first started. Almost didn't sketch tonight. I'm so exhausted today. But not a complaint again, just to show that, you know, even if you put in 10 minutes, push past it, spend five, 10 minutes sketching, it really could Transform your state of being. Just the past few minutes, sketching this and coloring it, it just has put me in a really different place. A great place for unwinding for the night before I head to sleepy land. So let me check the chat, see if there's any questions or comments and say hello. I always love seeing who's watching live. Let's check in. Let's see. I'm actually ready to go back to the other view. Hey, guys. Hope you're doing well. Thought it'd be fun to have this camera view on. You can see a little bit behind me in the studio back there is where I actually really do all my sketching here. That's kind of my creative station. I'm sitting down at my table, so a little different setup. You can see a lot of my sketches in the background as well. Paula. Hey. Paula says good evening. Wow, this is cool. What are you sketching, Paula? Great question. This is just something totally random out of my brain. So honestly, I have no idea what to sketch, and I wasn't gonna let that stop me tonight. And when I don't know when to sketch, one of the things I like to do is just start throwing down ink and colors and just being playful. So, yeah, just. I know sometimes we all have what I like to call blank paper syndrome and not know where to sketch or what to sketch or how to start. My best. One of my best pieces of advice is just pick up a pen, marker, anything, paint. Just throw it down on paper and see what happens. So that's kind of what I'm doing tonight. Just playing around. Now that I'm looking at it, I don't know. Looks like a mishmash of. Maybe it's inside a cathedral. Cathedral somewhere or a church. You know, I'm seeing a bunch of arches kind of happening here. This could be. Let's see. This could be some kind of a vaulted ceiling or. Vaulted ceiling is a curved ceiling. Sorry, my. Sorry. My whole arm was in the camera there. Like I said, it's a different. I usually stand up as well. I am standing, sitting tonight, sketching. And it's kind of interesting. I feel like it constrains me a little bit. Great question. So I guess we'll just call it abstract. It's abstract art. Although when I hear the word abstract, I think of getting teeth removed. And we're definitely not removing any teeth tonight. Super cool. Thank you so much. I appreciate that you're just enjoying me, kind of just scribbling a little bit here and there and add a little More color. We'll grab some colored pencils and we'll kind of wrap up. I just, like I said, I'm just trying to push through being tired and I didn't want to not sketch today. It's great for just keeping a creative habit going and just getting that time in. There we go. I guess. I guess I picked up the pink. I literally don't even know. I'm just grabbing and going. And that's part of the fun too. No expectations, just throwing down stuff. And then the other side. I'll show you that in a second. I have this. This is actually a cool zoom out. This is fun. Empire State Building inspired sketch. I did sketch painting. I did. I don't even know when I did this. I could tell it has acrylic paint, so I brought out some acrylics and some ink on that. So just a kind of a fun interpretation of the top part of the Empire State Building. It's kind of cool. I just literally just grabbed a sketchbook. I don't even know what's in here. Scribbles the copper building. New York City, scribbly skyline thingy. I'm really bad at organizing all my sketchbooks. This is a cool door sketch. Oh, this is a cool one. This was. I sketched this at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is their. In their galaxy. Galaxy's Edge part of the park. Their Star wars part of the park. This came out pretty cool. I like the colors a lot. More. Scribblies. There's a cool water tower sketch. There's a kind of a Disney castle inspired sketch here. Here's a. Well, I like most of this Statue of Liberty inspired tired sketch. You can notice where I stopped. So the head is way out of proportion. But I still love the colors on this piece. Check out these colors. Sorry if the lighting is a little bad. Really fun colors. Maybe next time on I'm on. We'll do a Statue of Liberty sketch. I haven't done one in a while. All right, cool. Let's go back and just wrap this one up. And this is a church I did the other night. St. Patrick's Cathedral. Inspired. This came out kind of cool. What the heck is that one I was working on? All right. Again, this is just loosey goosey fun. Playing around. No intentions. Playtime 9:51. I'm going to wrap up very shortly. Have to get up a little bit earlier. Earlier than usual tomorrow. Just want to pop some yellow on here. Some more yellow. Let's just do a lot of yellow. Why? And let's. Let's give this a little bit of perspective. So I'm going to sketch in. Let's go grab a Sharpie. Let's just sketch, like floor tiles in here and see if we can add a little bit of depth to this. I'm seeing a perspective view in my brain. I think I picked up the Sharpie. That is not working. That's losing its juice. That's okay. There we go. So we created a kind of a perspective grid, a floor grid here to help give a little bit of depth. And the last thing I'm going to do tonight is I feel like coloring in. Maybe we'll use black. I have a black creative marker here. I don't have my black creative marker in front of me. So we'll just go with. We're gonna go with red. Yes, Yes. I did say red. Let's do it. Do like a checkerboard floor pattern. It. So I think by adding that kind of checkerboard pattern on the floor even has more of a little perspective going back. Notice in the front, the tiles are bigger and as you get in the distance, they just get smaller. Just to create the illusion of a little bit of depth. On this totally abstract sketch tonight, get a little bit more. Cool. All right, let me see if there's any final questions or comments, and I'm going to wrap up. So again, this is just a fun abstract loose out of my brain. Just grab goak create kind of a session tonight. Not inspired by anything in particular other than my brain. It's brain inspired. So sometimes if you don't know where to start, grab a pen, pencil. There's the camera. Grab a pen or pencil, put it down on a piece of paper. Close your eyes even. Don't worry about what comes out. Close your eyes. I call this med ink tations. Close your eyes, listen to music. Just let the marker, pen, pencil, crayon, it doesn't matter. Close your eyes and let it just go. That is a great way to get your creative brain primed to sketch something. Hey, Linda says love red. Hey, Linda, great to see you. Hope you're doing well. You guys are amazing. So good to see you, Linda. I know I need to put together a day for day and time for our inklings to get together in zoom. So it's probably gonna either be on a Friday night or a Sunday because I think set my Saturdays are kind of taken up for the rest of January. So I will put. Put a date out there and see if you guys can make it and do a little Creative zoom. I appreciate you guys so much. Gonna pull this out. I imagine as I was sketching, I saw some kind of a wall or something here in the foreground. So just again, just to kind of create a perspective, I think. Did I say. Did I say I was gonna stop? I don't know. We're gonna do a red and black hair. All right. I kind of like the black on there better. Any. Anybody like elton john out there? Got some elton john playing. Let's put a. I like this song here. The circle of Life. All right. All right, let's do the wrap up for the night and we're gonna go back to the studio. Camera view, you can see a little bit what's happening behind me and. Yeah, let's do it, guys. Thank you so much for watching commenting. Whether it's live or it's not live, it's a replay. Right. I do appreciate you all so, so much. It's fun to come on here and connect. I love sharing what's on my brain, my creative brain. Hopefully I can give you guys some pointers and tips, some a little bit of motivation, a little nudge maybe to just draw something, sketch something. As you can see, it can be simple. It doesn't even have to be anything. They can be totally random. So that was a good example. I wasn't gonna come on tonight, but I wanted to just show that even when I'm exhausted, I still try to make some time to do something creative every day. And it's a good, good habit for me and it keeps me going. You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for putting up with the 3D printer in the background. It is printing the lid to the pencil box I designed. I'll show you guys the pencil box on another show. I'm really getting more and more into designing products and 3D printing stuff. So be on the lookout for some really cool 3D 3D printed art related stuff that I'll be creating. Appreciate you guys so, so much. I'm Jason with the Inkspired Life. Keep using your creativity for positivity. And if you want to sketch architecture, you definitely can do it because if you can scribble, if you can sketch lines, you can sketch the world around you. All right, guys, take care. I will be on again sometime soon. It is Thursday, maybe Friday night. Saturday I am going to be going into New York City. Yes. And sketching in Grand Central Station. Well, terminal actually. So that'll be fun to show you guys what I'm sketching. So, Paula, great to see you on the YouTube side of things, I always appreciate you. Take two. This is live, unrehearsed, unscripted. As you can tell. Next time I might use cue cards. Paula, great to see you on the YouTube side of things. Linda loves the red on here. Yeah, let's go back to the sketch view. Yeah, this is a cool red. That red is just using the Sharpie creative markers. I think it really added to this. No hurry for your inklings. We know you're busy. Yeah, it's not an excuse for me. Even if we're all busy in one way or another. But you always got to make time for the people you really care about. No matter how busy you are. So we'll get together. Good night, Linda. Hey, Mickey. Great to see you Mickey. Hope all's well. Have a great night. I appreciate you watching live. Thank you guys for the thumbs up and the hearts. More people are starting to watch. This is exciting. Let's take this up level. If you could do me one favor before I go, let me know in the comments how the sound is off my Mac microphone. It is definitely not as good as my usual microphone. But I am curious if do you like this setup? Does it sound okay? And it's fun to do this. I just like showing you guys this what's going on back there in the studio. Alright, I'm really hyped up now. Now I won't be able to sleep because I'm hyper. But that's okay. I'm in a positive mood. Alright guys, take care. Peace out.
