Wandering & Bunny Spotting LIVE! | Unwind, Chat & Explore

In this informal livestream, Jason Nicholas takes his dog Olivia on a 20‑minute walk through New York City, narrating a casual "bunny spotting" adventure while noting the orange‑hued sun caused by wildfire smoke. He reports seeing eight bunnies (and no deer), interacts with chat participants, mentions his brief experiences with geocaching, and reflects on the mental refresh of stepping outdoors after a day of desk work. Throughout, he comments on Olivia’s tendency to pull, the atmospheric haze, and his habit of livestream sketching architecture and landscapes. The stream ends with a playful scoreboard (bunnies vs. deer), calls to like, subscribe, and join future sketching walks.

You're having an awesome day today. Just out taking a, uh, quick walk here with my friend, and we are bunny spotting. And do I see one? I just saw one that hopped away. So we're out walking, bunny spotting, and, um, check out the sun. So it's hazy, smoky, um, we're getting some of the effects of the wildfire smokes here, and, uh, I don't want to be out here too long. But yeah, so I just wanted to pop on and say hello, and we've seen one bunny so far. On the live stream. How cool is that? Hope you're having a good day today. So actually, before I decide to live stream, I've already seen 7, 7 bunnies, so They're out and about today, which is awesome. But I'm really curious to see what the sun's going to look like here as we go up to the Thinking Tree, and, uh, we'll see how the sun looks up there. Got my pup here with me. There she is. Oh yeah, so there's the Thinking Tree. Yes, so the sun is really just this amazing orange color. I know it has to do with the smoke in the atmosphere. Olivia has her own agenda here. She is definitely pulling me along. Slow down, Liv. So we're actually kind of working on this where I'm trying to get her to slow down and not pull all the time. It's definitely a work in progress. So any pup owners out there, I think you know what I mean, right? But here, we'll see that sun in a second. Boom! There, you can see it right there in the distance, right? Hey Jeff, good to see you! I see Nathan. Hello, good to see you. Hope you guys are doing great today. Bunny catching? No, no, bunny spotting. We're just looking for them. Um, yeah, I know you're being silly, but yeah, so I've seen, um, 7 plus— I've seen 8 total since I've been out here. Been walk for about maybe 20 minutes. So we'll see what else we can— who else we see as we're walking around. Like I said, Olivia definitely has her own agenda. We're not gonna be out here too, too long. I could smell the smoke in the air, and you can see the haze in the sky. It's crazy. So I hope everybody's safe where, where the wildfires are happening. Um, yeah, well, and also obviously the creatures out and about. I hope everybody is okay. Oh, like geocaching. I got it. I've only gone geocaching like a couple times. I'd love to do it again. It's kind of cool. I know some people are really, really into it. Um, I've stumbled on like a geocache find by accident. Yeah, geocaching is kind of cool, right? It's like a, like a scavenger hunt basically. Let's go down here and see if we find our friend down here. There's usually a bunny that hangs out down this way a little bit. So I'm so glad to be outside today. Today was one of those days where I was just, uh, inside all— pretty much all day at my desk doing adulting stuff, like bills, paying bills and finance stuff. And I have a headache from doing that. Um, it's just one of those necessities that has to get done, right? So I decided I would do it today and lock in on it. So it was good to have the time just to lock in on that task. But, um, I definitely need the outdoors right now. It is open, open expanse, get out of the small room I was in. So it's really amazing how— I always say this, but our environments can really affect us in different ways, make us feel differently, think differently, be inspired differently, lock in differently. Hey Tara, good to see you. Hope you're doing well. Jeff, never been geocaching. Yeah, I think I've gone once or maybe twice at the most. Nothing serious, but it's, it's a pretty cool concept. I know there are big geocaching clubs and groups. Um, I kind of like just going exploring. I love these flowers here, they're so cool. Tara Estwick's in the house, great to see you. Hey, if you guys like this kind of stuff, just make sure you hit that thumbs up, hit that subscribe. I like to come out and do these walks and talks, very casual. Um, here. Sometimes I do it when I'm in New York City, and I'm also always sketching, livestream sketching, mostly architecture stuff. Although I am working on doing— trying to sketch landscapes for the kind of first time ever. So you might catch me doing a landscape sketching stream, very loose style. That's Kind of how I like to sketch. Lofty, hello, hello, hello. I like that they're letting this get really overgrown up here, these kind of wildflowers. Olivia wants to go down there, but I don't know what she sees. Liv, we're going to stay up here. We're going to go back this way. Come on, buddy. Livy is my pup. She's definitely, um, just see what she's looking at. Come on, buddy. But yeah, oops, hold on a second. You can kind of see there's that sun up there. Come on, Liv, let's go this way. Come on, buddy. Good girl. She's such a good pup. Yeah, you can— I could smell the smoke. I can actually just kind of, kind of taste the smoke in my mouth a little bit. It's kind of gross. So I think we're going to head out soon. I don't want to be outdoors too, too long. There you go. You can kind of see— you can see that sun back there. I think it's really cool. It's so beautiful. It's a just a perfect orange ball in the sky. Isn't it interesting that sometimes it just takes, um, I say bad circumstances to make things look beautiful. That's not the right phrasing, but like a bad situation is making the sun look amazingly beautiful. You know, the smokes, the wildfire It's just, it's kind of ironic. Isn't that a song? Isn't it ironic? I really do think— Alanis Morissette. But yeah, there's definitely irony to that whole concept. All right, should we go down the hill, buddy? Wanna go down? All right, we are leaving the Thinking Tree level. We're gonna head down to Middle Earth, and I think we're gonna go out through Bunny Alley. Actually, last night was really cool. After I finished live streaming, literally like 5 minutes after I'm walking out and these 4, like, baby bunnies hopped across the trail. They were so cute. All right, Middle-earth. No deer tonight. There's Middle Earth. Livia, slow down. Slow. Walk together. Together, Livi. Liv, why don't we go down the hill? We'll go out this way. Come on, let's go down this way. We'll see more bunnies on the way out. Ready? Come on, Liv. Alright, alright, we're gonna head down the hill. We're gonna head out through Bunny Alley and see what we can see on the way out. It's okay, Liv. There are people playing, uh, maybe baseball or something down at one of the fields. We can hear them, so she's hesitating a little bit. Livy, that field is way down there. Okay, let's go. Good girl. All right, welcome to Bunny Alley, and I already see two down in there. We have two kind of hanging out. Sorry, down that way. And I see one up ahead on the right, way up there. There's one way, way up here. Kind of walk here, so So this is kind of where I saw those little bunnies yesterday. They literally were just kind of crossing here. Olivia is so good, she doesn't even bother with them. Good pup, Liv. There we go. Have a good night, bunny. Have a good night. See you. Yeah, she's so good, she doesn't even bother with them. All right, I think we're going to end here, guys. All right, Liv, let's just end the stream, buddy. All right, thanks for watching. If you liked this, um, kind of quick walk, hit that thumbs up. I'd love for you to do that. Subscribe for more like walks, talks here in New York City. And, um, yeah, come catch some of my, my livestream sketching. Um, yeah, I love doing this stuff, and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Until we meet again, sketch boldly, live creatively, and embrace imperfection. And there's our bunny right there. All right, thanks, see you. Oh, I guess we're not done yet. My pup is saying we're not done yet. So, um, I saw a total of— not counting the ones down here because I've seen them already— so I saw a total of 8 8 tonight. 8 bunnies, no deer. So if you're keeping score at home with our bunnies versus deer walk, I lost count. I think bunnies, it's like up to 21. Deer, 3. So bunny sightings are definitely winning. All right, be sure to hit that thumbs up button. See you— is it a button? That thumbs up, whatever. See you soon.
