A short spoken segment (YouTube video) offering advice to entrepreneurs on preserving relationships by practicing presence and single-tasking. The speaker recounts a client who reduced work hours to be with her children but still mentally worked while with them, and advises turning off devices and committing fully to whichever role (parent or business) you’re in to perform both better and avoid guilt.

I was having a beautiful chat with one of our clients and she was saying she has dropped back her work hours so she could be more present with her kids. But then when she's with her kids she's constantly thinking about her business. That is counterintuitive. You may do just work because you're doing nothing well in that situation. So my biggest piece of advice to you is like if you're going to make time to be with your kids, shut the frickin laptop, turn off your phone and choose to be present with your kids. Like there's nothing you can do in your business so there's no point bloody thinking about it. And when you're focusing on business, don't be thinking about all the things you're guilty about, like oh, I should be spending time with my kids or I should be making time for my health. If you just do the thing that you said you were going to do in the time that you did it and you didn't get yourself all emotional and overwhelmed while trying to do something else, you would actually do everything a lot better.
