Welcome. I'm Tim Frey and I help online coaches scale to 100k months. In this video, I'll show you how to pick a profitable niche so you're not working with broke clients who can't afford to pay you. And your marketing message will cut through the noise. If you guys want to get this sheet that I'm talking through today with all the questions, prompts and whatnot on it, go to the description, enter your details and I'll send that to you straight away. So proof on how to pick a profitable niche that this actually works for online coaches is our client. Becca went from 2k to 40k months inside success school. She did it with Facebook ads, but. But she picked the right niche. And that's the point I'm trying to get through with this video is I'm going to show you guys how to pick a profitable niche, what to do, what not to do and how to do it. So the key concepts today, guys, is, so you've probably heard this before, but the riches are in the niches. And that's very American. In Australia, we don't say niches, we say niches. But you kind of get. What I'm saying is the deeper you go with these things, generally the more money there is to make because there is less competition. So you want to think about your niches going deeper, not wider. So generalists get general results, so they get general money. Specialists get paid more. Also, what you want to think about in terms of your marketing message is the more broad you are, the more broad your marketing message and you will start to speak to everyone. Therefore, when you speak to everyone, you speak to no one. Your marketing message will be blunt and won't cut through the noise. So most people don't niche because they can help everyone. And that is something that happens when you first start in business because basically you will just work with anyone because you just want to get some reps, you want to get some customers, you want to start making some money, which is great. And, and then people refer you other people to work with who specifically might not be in your niche. So let's talk about an online fitness coach. They might start out doing fat loss and nutrition. They'll do it for moms, dads, people with injuries, like whatnot, and they start working with heaps of people and then they hear someone like me, a coach or a marketer, and they say, hey, you need to niche. And they're like, well, I'm working with all these people at the moment, so I don't want to cut them out. And the problem is because you don't want to have a specific marketing message, it's very hard to speak to one type of person or attract the right type of person. That's warm versus cold marketing. So if you take that generalist marketing and you start running with it on Facebook ads, obviously you're going to get nowhere on meta ads because your message won't cut through the noise. The more you scale, the more you have to niche generally. So I would suggest picking a niche. So what I'm going to do guys, is you can get the download, so click below is I've got a bunch of questions, about 11 questions and I'm going to go through each of them on this video today. But what do people call you? You want to keep it simple. So in this right here, you don't want to be like I'm a manifesting generating coach according to the Virgo moon and the Capricorn. And you might laugh and that might be a funny examp example to go through on this, but I've seen people do this before is they get really technical on what they call themselves, but you just want to call yourself what other people call you. Okay, do they call you a nutrition coach, they call you a business coach, they call you a digital marketer. What is that? Keep it super simple. What's the main result you help your clients achieve? Examples is they help them get 10 clients in 10 weeks. They lose 5 kilo in 5 weeks. Get consistent leads, add $10,000 to your business in 90 days. Very specific. And our outcome is best here. General outcomes don't do well for a marketing message. This one's more about who do you love working with. So it's at mums, over 40 online coaches, startup coaches, founders, tradies, accountants, whatever that is. Number four is so I help your niche to get X result. I help online coaches get 10 clients in 10 weeks. So you can see how with just four questions in here and how much more powerful this is already. Number five, what's the average monthly income of your niche? You can use AI, ChatGPT, Claude, whatever it is to find this out, do some market research. Number six is, is how much is your service monthly? And then you just want to ask yourself, can your niche actually afford how much your service is? If no, might be time to pick a new niche. Number seven, what is the problems or other problems that your niche knows they have? Okay. And this has to be in their words commonly where this goes wrong is we, I coach a bunch of mindset coaches and they say things like my clients have limiting beliefs or my clients have blocks, but that's not their words. That's not showing up for them in their life at the moment. So most people don't even know what a limiting belief is. And then you're marketing that online and wondering why they. No one's interested. The other common example in the fitness industry is I'm a hypertrophy coach. Anyone that's not in high end strength and conditioning doesn't know what hypertrophy means, then you are marketing that and people aren't attracted to it. So you need to speak to the problems in their words. Number eight, what have they trialed already before coming to you? This helps position your offer as different. So for a nutrition coach, have they tried Jenny Craig? Have they tried fat loss diets? Have they tried meal plans, templates, low ticket courses? Have they tried all of that stuff? Number nine, what's keeping them stuck right now? We need to know their constraint. So is it they can't lose weight? Is it no leads? Is it no time? Is it fear of judgment, whatever that is, we're in a deep dive that. Number 10, what is their dream outcome here? And you want to specifically be very tangible with this. Okay, so if this is a weight loss example, they want to lose 10 kilos. Okay, that's very specific. Or if it's a muscle gain example, they want to gain 5 kilos of mass and hit a 200k back squat. Or is it a business coaching example, they want to hit $100,000 a month. Like it has to be very tangible and visceral and they have to see themselves in the outcome as well. And that's how you create pointy marketing messages, is where you're very specific with these things. Number 11, where do they hang out online? Is it Instagram? Is it YouTube? Is LinkedIn? Is it podcast? What specifically are they listening to? And number 12, this is more of a gut check and a sense check. Do you actually enjoy working with them? Yes or no? So what you want to do next is go into as much detail as possible with these 12 questions, download it, answer it, and this is going to help craft a profitable niche for online coaching. The next step, if you want to go a layer deeper and work out how to market this better and attract more clients, send me a message on Instagram at Real Timfrey DM me the word grow and I'd love to help you.
