A short YouTube conversation (Tim Frey and another speaker) critiquing the idea of "passive income," especially as applied to online courses and paid-ad strategies. Key claims: selling a course isn’t truly passive unless you already have a large audience; ad funnels require continual maintenance (creative, copy, targeting) and creators with big followings still produce regular content to drive sales.

Here's passive income, a scam. I could go and build a course right now on Facebook ads and sell that out, but if there's no one actually driving the sales of that, it's not going to go anywhere. Even if you did have an ad strategy, that ad strategy would stop working and then you would need to change creative copy, targeting all that type of stuff. There's nothing passive about that. It would work passively if you had a massive audience and people were going through your Instagram, finding it and then buying it without you doing anything. But it basically only works if you're famous or you're really good at ads.
And you create a lot of content. Like, you know the people who are spouting low ticket courses right now on Instagram, they've got big audiences, but they're still showing up every, every single day making content to sell that stuff to sell on their stories. They're showing up, they're writing new ads, they're creating new copy. How would you recommend someone to get started in passive income?
