Tim Frey recounts helping his parents with their bills after they told him they were struggling financially. He reflects that a core benefit of entrepreneurship is creating expendable income to directly help loved ones, not merely acquiring luxury goods.
A couple weeks ago, my dad came to me and he said, we're struggling financially. And I sat down with them, went through their bills, and I had the opportunity to take a load off their plate, which was. It felt really nice. The late nights, the hustle, the grind, all the bull, all the people you have to deal with, all the stuff. And it really got me thinking. I was like, maybe this is what it's actually for. This is the benefit of entrepreneurship. You can make expendable income and you can help other people. It's not just about Lambos and fast cars and big houses and these types of things. You can help the immediate people around us.
