How to Set Up a Premium Podcast in ClickFunnels 2.0 | Coaching Corner #026

Todd Dickerson and Tyson show how to add a members-only podcast to ClickFunnels 2.0 using Castos as the host. Two Zapier automations handle access: one adds subscribers when someone enrolls, the other removes them if payment fails. They walk through tiered pricing, workflow setup, and embedding podcast episodes into lesson pages.

Hey, hey, hey, we're back! What's going on? What's going on, everybody? How are you doing today?
Welcome to Coaching Corner yet again, around, uh, 26, and, uh, going strong, going strong, going strong.
26 weeks, oh my goodness, here we are.
Ah, yeah, we have a fun one. I said that last week too, but we have another fun one this week. This Tuesday for you. Um, and this is something that's— I don't know, I feel like Dave has been trying to get this one going for a little bit now. We're like, uh, I don't know.
And then, yeah, it's an important topic.
Yeah, I got a question on this probably last week, and I was like, you know what, where have I heard this before? Where have I heard somebody talking about setting something like this up in the platform, right? Yeah, David.
Oh, okay, David.
Yeah, maybe we should share this with the people.
Exactly. Free this information. So, uh, you know, once you stop on into ClickFunnels a couple of times, you'll start to find out that it's always fun here. Uh, if you're, if you're new, welcome in. My name is David, this is Tyson, and, uh, we are— this is Coaching Corner. We're where we dive into, uh, very specific topics of ClickFunnels and how you can use ClickFunnels to build your business and help other businesses out there. So albeit, here we go. Today we're talking about how to set up a premium paid only members only podcast inside your course, your ClickFunnels course, and how to remove access if somebody stops paying, uh, if somebody cancels your ClickFunnels course, okay? Your ClickFunnels membership. All right. So who here wants to learn that?
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do. Yes, I'll say hands. I have my two hands raised.
Yes, everything. It's a super good one. All right, so this training stemmed from actual Russell's training. He's talked about this live on stage several times where the, the goal of your content is to get your content in front of your members in as easy of a way as possible, right? And of course, the goal of your course and your membership is to bring about a transformation. Or a change in somebody's life. And so that means it, it, uh, it's kind of up to you and up to us to make it as easy as possible for our customers, for your customers to absorb and to consume your content. And so one of the easiest ways to do that is to make a podcast where they can just push play on their phone, in the car, and listen to your content as they go, like about their daily life. Okay, the long-standing dilemma is like, well, how do we sync that up with our, you know, ClickFunnels paying, you know, our subscription service and then actually cancel that whenever they cancel, if they cancel? But why would they?
Why would they? Why would they?
Yeah, they love you, they love your content. But just in case if they happen to stray from, from your course. Let's go, let's dive in, and we'll show you how to set that up today. So, uh, in this we are talking about premium podcast functionality, uh, and how to bring it to your course, your membership, and what a premium podcast is and how it differs from a standard podcast. Next, we'll also cover how to create the premium podcast inside of your ClickFunnels 2.0, and we'll also talk about ways to use it as a paid offer or an added bonus inside your membership. Okay, so stay tuned everyone, this one is fun. So the quick and easy answer is Kastos. This has been— if you're, uh, yeah, if you're, you know, give me the answer, this is it. All right, we've done some research and, uh, this turns out to be the best, um, bang for your buck, right, is the best way to put it. You get 100 private subscribers for only $20 a month. There are some other ones out there. I think Transistor FM is another good one, but they only offer— they offer less than this at the same price. And so I would recommend Kasos. Okay. And also what we were looking for, part of the criteria was that it has to be on Zapier. So this is how we're gonna make it work. We go over to Zapier and you're gonna have two zaps. You're gonna have one that will add them to your premium podcast, and then you're gonna have one that cancels them, removes access from that premium podcast if they cancel your course. Okay? So what we do, once you get your membership to Castos, go ahead and sign up for free. Then you're gonna come over here to Zapier. By the way, let's see if we have it over here. Did you know that you have— we have Zapier inside ClickFunnels? So there's hardly ever a reason to leave your ClickFunnels ecosystem. How cool is that? How cool is that? All right, so once we dive into it, uh, the trigger event that we're looking for by ClickFunnels is course enrollments created for contact. So this triggers when a contact is enrolled in a course. Okay. And then you are looking for Gastros, you guessed it, and choose an event, create private subscriber, bing, bang, boom, you're done.
You know, maybe we should do a whole episode on Zapier. I don't know if that would be helpful for anybody, but if it is, put it in the comments or message.
Yeah. Let us know. Yeah. Zapier is pretty good. Let us know. Yeah, for sure. Hey, by the way, where are you watching from? We love to see in the comments where you're watching from and to go back and forth in the comment section with you to have that conversation. Also, if you have any questions that you would like answered on these episodes, then you can, let's see, and you can always reach out to us at outreach@clickfunnels.com.
Okay. I was wondering what you're looking for there. I was like, what, what are you looking at?
It is in. Yeah. Okay, great. We got that easy now. Perfect. Okay. Let's dive back in. So that's the one that we're going to create for whenever somebody buys your course. Okay. Now let's say we need to create the one to remove them. So this one I'm titling Podcast Removal and The trigger that we're looking for from ClickFunnels is contact enrollment suspended from course. We click in there. Here it is. This triggers when a contact is suspended from a course, and we'll show you how to set up the workflow in just a second. Okay, and then just connect your account. And then the Kastos event that we're looking for is to revoke a private subscriber. There you go. And we're done.
With the Zapier steps, like, it couldn't have been simpler. I guess 4 if you count both, both Zaps at once, but yep.
All right, now we just need to create the course and then to create those workflows that give them enrollment access and that revoke enrollment access. So let's do that. Let's say we're gonna do this for the Home Gym Setup course. Okay, so we created the course. Great, good job, you're done. Once you get that set up, now we can go to the automation. Okay, so we're going to create a workflow. Now here in the workflow, we're going to do start from scratch, and the trigger will be based on whenever they most likely purchase a product. Okay. And it can be, you can get it all, uh, uh, granular and specific if you want. From this funnel, I'm going to select, there's no products attached to that one. So we're going to back out, take out that funnel. All right. We're going to call it FitLife Pro Membership and save. There we go. Now we add I don't wanna go too fast. We're gonna click this little plus icon right here in the middle. Click it. And then we're gonna scroll down and we're gonna do enroll contact in a course. You see it? It's over here on the right. We're gonna click on that. It's gonna bring up the menu. And now we just select the course. Boom. Nice. Easy. And then you can obviously get as granular as you want. You can enroll them in specific modules if you want, or you can enroll them in all of it together. Okay, so if you wanted to do like a couple of tiers, here's a great way to do the tiers. You could actually have— let's say Welcome to Fitlife Bootcamp is Tier 1. Then you could have all of your sub-modules inside of that with all the lessons. Okay, that's Tier 1. Let's say that's $47 a month. Then you could have another module that is tier 2, that could be $97 a month, and you can have all the submodules in there so that you can upsell people from tier 1 to tier 2. And then tier 3 could be $300 a month with submodules in there, and so on and so forth. Okay, easy enough, straightforward, easy enough. So that's all that's required in this step. You can obviously add as many emails and tags and notifications that you want, but that's all that's required here in order to make this Zap work. So next, I just want to kind of highlight some things in order to turn your workflow on. So notice how it says that the workflow trigger has zero active triggers. That's a problem. It means that it's not going to work. There's nothing that's going to make this thing fire. So we got to go in there and we just got to simply toggle this one on. Okay, now we have an active trigger. Check. Next, notice this yellow, um, what would you call it, a highlighted message, not a warning. It's not really a warning message, it's more like, yeah, it's like an attention banner. Okay, this says this workflow is disabled and will not run, so to enable it, let's go to settings. Oh, okay. All right, so we could also go to settings up here in the top right-hand corner. You see that? Both of these buttons are going to take us to the same settings for the workflow itself. We have to turn on the entire workflow, otherwise none of the triggers will work. Nothing will run in the workflow either. Okay, so if you have members inside of this workflow somewhere in the middle of it and you turn the whole workflow off, they will all freeze in place.
Okay, that's going to be terrible. Yeah, don't, don't do that. Also make sure that you are live before you turn this on. If you're doing a bunch of tests and whatnot, obviously. Well, I don't know, I guess when you're ready to go live and start testing. But if you're not at the points where you're ready to start sending stuff through Zapier and having all these other random triggers appear and whatnot, don't, uh, don't have it active.
Yeah, yeah. Hey, uh, just wanted to highlight some people. Thank you, uh, how do you say that, Adil Kriel 2278. Thanks for watching, appreciate your support. And thanks, Andrea. Welcome in. We appreciate you guys being here. Thank you for watching. Glad these are helping. Okay, so now what I'm going to do is sync up my, my workflow, enrollment access, and the course with my Zapier. So I just need to know the name of the course. That's it. And the name of this course is FitLife Bootcamp. Okay, I got it. Now we're going over to the podcast, where is the new podcast member ad, and we are going to do this for, uh, okay, once you select your account, you're going to get in here, you're going to configure it to the— yeah, I can't really do that part right now, but you're going to continue to configure it. Yeah, you're gonna— it's gonna force you to select the account, your ClickFunnels account, and then you just select the course, uh, on the configure step. Okay, that's it.
You already signed in, you might, might be able to let you in.
Possibly. Uh, I don't know. Let me—
maybe let me try your share for a second.
Yeah, I'm scared about, uh, obviously revealing too much. I get it. Revealing— a magician never reveals his secrets.
You're in a magic—
that's right. I don't see why not.
Uh, if not, it's okay. I just— it looked like you already signed in.
Let me try, let me try. We're in the, uh, nope. Okay. Not gonna happen today. That's okay. You can just imagine in your mind, use your creativity for what the next step looks like. It's pretty easy. Just, just go there. Okay. You'll find out. All right. Next, we needed the workflow for how to remove them from the membership and the podcast in case if they, uh, cancel or discontinue your service. So By the way, did you know, here's something just to highlight, as soon as you create a workflow these days, um, we just wanted to get you inside the workflow editing as fast as possible. So it defaults the name title of the workflow to My Workflow until you change it. Okay, so this is the one, this is my workflow. I'm going to go ahead and change that just for ease of life here. And new Todd Dickerson. Course Purchase Workflow. Cool. Okay, now we're going to do another one, start from scratch. This one is removal or canceled or failed payments of that course. So we're going to do Settings, and this workflow is Cancelled course membership. And we're going to turn it on. Okay. Just so you know, back to back, the run type is the most common one that you're going to be using. Okay. There's also simultaneous, which means people are going to be able to jump into the same workflow multiple times, but be very careful with that one. That one's kind of a rare use case. You just don't want them to be going through the same workflow with a lot of emails and getting the same emails you know, at the same time.
And then as you go.
Yeah. Yeah. And then every now and then you're also going to do the only once per contact. But for the majority, they're going to be back to back. Okay. And the trigger that we're looking for is failed recurring payment decline. Okay. That's it. And subscription FitPro Life membership. There we go. And turn that toggle on. Okay, now what we're looking for, because we added that trigger, and that trigger only, is going to give us this option down here called the Exit Dunning. Okay, so we're going to add that. And what that does is that pulls forward, it listens to your payment processor for the signal that a customer has exited the dunning process.. And when a signal is received that matches the subscription and the trigger, the contact is moved forward in the workflow to the step following the exiting step. Okay. So basically if they fail to payment or if they stopped a payment, it's going to put them in here. Then it's going to be listening for whenever that payment is either successful or it failed one way or the other. And so then we just need a conditional split step to to listen to whether they continued the payments or if they failed the payments. So now we need a conditional split step, and we do, uh, has current membership, and we clear out any filters there, and we just search for the product as active. Let's see, as active subscription. There we go. Of the specific product. Okay. And you can have it be several of your courses, your memberships, if you would like. So if you want to select multiple, then you can say this is one of Maybe it's this one. Maybe it's this one. Maybe it's that one. Okay. Yeah, you could actually. That's great. Let's just go for one right now. Okay, apply. So this is saying that if they have a current active subscription, as active— oh, something—
escape.
Has active membership, then they're going to go down the yes path. If they don't have it, then they're going to go down the no path. And here is where we will remove enrollment access. And if you want, you could do stuff like sending them an email, uh, just to like give them some reminders. But this would be like a personal thing. And just so you know, your payment processor, like over in Payments.ai, you can actually set up the emails to be sent from there reminding them, hey, your payment failed. So this may be a redundant step. Okay. But if you want to do it, throw it in, you can add a little personal touch, put a video in there.
So, hey, we miss you. Yeah. No, don't go.
Yeah. Yeah. Be like, what's going on, you knucklehead?
Let's hop on a call.
Exactly. Okay. Ooh, hello, Tyson. Do you see what I'm seeing? Oh, register for countdown event. What's up with that? Oh, okay. There's some, there's some new chunky chunks in the sauce here. Okay.
Okay.
All right. We're gonna have to go back to that. All right. Some more potatoes in the gravy here. All right. Let's get back on track. So now we're going to remove enrollment, unenroll contact from the course. Okay. And this will trigger. All right. So this will remove them from that course and that will fire the message over here to Zapier whenever you select the same course.
Okay.
Yep. That's it. Cool. Now we just got to worry about how the heck do they access your membership inside the course? Well, my friends, that's easy too. All right. Uh, so over on Zapier, sorry, over on Castos, if you have to, you could just Google how to embed the Castos episodes into a webpage and you'll come up with this. Okay. Uh, Tyson, can you add this in our notes for this week?
Oh, absolutely.
There you go. And if we come back over here, if you would like the link to this directly, then you can go to our link here, get the notes for this week, clickfunnels.com/coachingcorner, and that will be made available for you here in a minute. It'll be over here. I gotcha. All right, thank you. So all we're gonna do is we're going to click the media links button for your episode once you've done your episode. Uh, done your podcast, then you would— you'll be presented with the embed code. You just simply copy the embed code and— yep, so file, copy that one right there. And we're going to go over to your ClickFunnels course and we're going to add it, drop it in an HTML file— I mean, HTML element. So now we go to courses. Fit Life Bootcamp. All right, we're switching gears. We're doing it to this one now. Oops, sorry. We don't need to click the customize button. We just need to customize the lesson. Okay. So we're gonna dive into the lesson itself. And we're going to add element and search for HTML. And there it is. Click that, it'll populate there, and you just click in to open it up and click here to open up the HTML editor and just paste in your Castos episode embed code here. All right. Cool. And then save changes.
Done.
Okay, cool, cool. All right, I wonder if I can find a podcast episode to put it there. Let me, let me stop sharing for now, but, uh, that's all folks. That's it. Here's what— here's the— yeah, here's the updated page. Thanks from Lesson. There we go. Go on in there, grab your link, and have fun. Go nuts, go wild, have a good time with it.
Um, so just to recap what you covered today, all right, so we covered how to add or create a premium podcast that, uh, you could either include in a membership, whatever you decide, you're up to your discretion. Um, but really simple setup. We have two workflows inside of ClickFunnels. We have two Zaps inside of Zapier, um, and that's pretty much it regarding connection-wise. And you're using Castos to do it, to host the actual premium platform or premium podcast, and, uh, embedding it directly inside of your lessons in ClickFunnels.
Did I miss anything?
Was I paying attention?
Yep, you did great. That's the pop quiz for today.
Um, just opens up another few doors. Like, there's so many different ways you can make your offer unique. So if this is— if this sounds new to you and you're, you're curious, just try it out. See, see if it elevates what you're currently offering right now. Does it make it so your, your customers have that much more value, uh, for whatever it is that you're providing them? Uh, it really depends, obviously, per industry, I'm sure. But I don't know, I can see this being a pretty pretty common thing that you could put into an offer, um, without much extra friction. If you're already doing these types of things, like, it's, it's more or less just adding extra. You're, you're making it easier to access what you already are putting out there.
Yeah. Yeah. And what I like about this is you can start low and just scale it up as you grow. So 100 private subscribers is going to be paying you a pretty decent amount of money. Yeah, and then once you get to, you know, past 100, then you can upgrade to $50 a month. And let's see, 200 private subscribers from there, that'll be a decent amount of money for you. And then if you need to, obviously you can keep going from there. $500 on the next tier. Nice. So it's an easy barrier of entry. Um, let's see, do we have any questions?
Yeah, we have, we have 5 extra minutes. If not, It's okay, we'll bring some something fun for you next week as well.
Yeah, thanks Andrew, we appreciate you.
I'm gonna put—
we do it for the fans.
Uh, contact— I added both the outreach.clickfunnels.com to the links, and I'm going to add the calendar to the page as well. Uh, if you want to work through any of this stuff live, it could be something like this, something as crazy as this, or something as simple as setting up a button inside of your, your funnel, make sure things are working as they should, feel free to join us, uh, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at open office hours. Um, there you go, you just got the calendar right there and you see down below, but clickfunnels.com/calendar and you can see all the upcoming live events. That we got.
Got it on your way. Yeah, so that one there is the overall calendar link, uh, and then the office hours link is right here if you want to go there directly.
Yeah, I'll put the direct one in the— I got it on the coaching corner slides there.
Where did it go? Perfect, perfect. Hey guys, let me show you one more thing. You may not know about this. ClickFunnels.com/learn. Where I like to direct all of our new members here. This is a great place to get your account set up, um, if you don't know how, maybe cover the basics, get your account set up. But also you can view the live event schedule right here, and this goes to the calendar page. Oh, nice. Yeah, okay. And I recommend that anybody getting started, uh, that you go through this ClickFunnels account setup right here, and this will help walk you through the basics of getting your account set up. Everything from adding your domain to where can you build a funnel to, um, where can you get, uh, get your emails set up, get your payment gateway added, get your workflows set up, all that stuff. Beautiful. Yes. And there's some other goodies down here as well too.
Very nice. All righty, y'all. Well, that's all we have for you today. Hopefully you enjoyed. Thanks for hanging out with us, and we'll see you next week on Tuesday. Same time, same place, same day.
Yeah, sounds good, everyone. Thanks for joining, and we'll talk to you later.
