You Know Your Funnel. Now Let's Map It Out. | Coaching Corner #012

Rob and Tyson walk through mapping sales funnels before building them in ClickFunnels. They show five methods, from whiteboards to Canva, then demo a lead funnel with traffic, opt-in page, thank-you page, and email sequence. A visual map acts as a checklist and helps predict performance.

Doing it.
Oh, double click.
I was trying to put you up first.
What's up, guys? I thought Streamyard does it. No, we're just having fun here.
What's going on, guys? Happy Wednesday. It's Wednesday again. I feel like we were just here.
We were just here. It does feel like these weeks are flying by.
We got another fun one today. Another. A lot of, A lot of fun back to back episodes. I feel like yesterday or last week we covered what types of funnels you want to actually create. Hopefully that helped reduce some sort of, I don't. Limited belief or maybe like some, I don't know, uncertainty, I guess, as far as where to go and how to get started. If it didn't. We got one more thing today that might help, like move the needle even further beyond that point.
I definitely know people did reach out and say this was very clarifying for me.
Okay.
People were very scared about just getting started with funnels and they're like, okay, now this all makes sense. So we did get that feedback, which is really nice.
That's what we're looking for. So that's good.
Yeah. But even with our even offering that clarity of what funnel to start with, what funnel to go with next and like how the whole ecosystem works, even with all that, if people still feel like there's a lot, it's still daunting, right? Because then they have to build all the pages, they have to build all the automations, they have to write all the emails right. And they want to make sure to get it right. And they just like thinking about it in their head. They're like, this is too much to cover.
Absolutely, it is.
And I'm not gonna lie, it's a lot. I've gone through it multiple, multiple, multiple times. It's, it is a lot to cover. But today we're going to show you that it's not so scary.
It might even be more simple than you would expect. We have some live demos that might just rock your socks off. Rob specifically has a surprise for everybody and I enjoy this one myself.
You're calling that a surpr.
A live prop, shall we say? All right, we'll, let's go and share the screen here and we kind of walk through what we're talking about today. We're piggybacking off of last week. Not piggybacking, but we're taking it a step further to kind of make it even more simple. You have the funnel. You know what we, we talked about last week? We have three different funnel categories that we gave you or funnel types. And now how do we actually map it out for yourself? How do you make it so it is a actual journey that you can create before you even get to clickfunnels, before you get into the actual funnel editor, which is usually the scariest part for most people. Like you, you're looking at a blank canvas. You're like, God, I don't even, I don't even know what we're doing anymore. I don't know where things go. I'm not sure how this connects at all. What about the emails? You know, is anybody gonna talk about emails? We'll get to it, right? There's a, there's a way to make it simple so that way you can design it before you ever even try to build anything. And there's three ways that we're going to end up walking through, actually four. Like I said, there's a surprise. Today, Rob, Rob is bringing all the stops and basically we're just going to be mapping out funnels. We're mapping it out so that way you have a clear explanation of what you're doing before you get to it.
And just if you think about it, it's the logical next step. You know what your ecosystem looks like, right? Like you know how everything maps out at a grand level. But now you need the outline. Or just like you're writing a paper in school, right? You got to put that outline together. Once you write the outline, everything just comes. It's just so much clearer what the next step is, right? When you first start like a 10 page paper or whatever, your dissertation, whatever it is, it's really, really scary at first. And then you start working at it and you start defining the topic and then you start learning more about it, what has to go into it. And then you get to the point where like, all right, I'm ready to put things, put pen to paper. And you don't just start writing right off the bat, right? You don't start just like writing out your dissertation. You outline it first. So you know what you're going to work on first, second, third, you know what the end goal is, you know what, what every step of the way is. And that's what we want to talk about today. We want to talk to you about just putting it all down on paper, making the outline of your funnel so it's not so scary. Like, yes, it's a lot. But once you map it out, once you actually put pen to paper or what, we'll show you some cool tools. It's not so Scary. And it just becomes like a checklist.
Yeah.
You know what I mean? It's like you're going to see all the different steps that you have to add. And once you do the first one, check it off. Right. Then you do the second one, check it off. And then the automations, you'll check it all off. So it's. We're just going to break this down for you really easily and it's going to be fun.
There's a couple of different tools, but before we do, in case you don't remember what we talked about, there's three different categories. There's a few different categories, actually four technically, but there's three different main funnels you need. One is lead funnel, one is a tripwire, one is a core offer funnel. We're really only going to be talking about how to map it out for a lead funnel, but the process is the exact same for any funnel type you do. This is like ground zero. Okay, well, ground one, maybe ground zero is finding the funnel or deciding the goal. So then you can decide the funnel. Now we're going to actually lay out the funnel and wireframe it, I guess. Is that ground level three? I don't know what I'm talking. What ground.
It's the next step.
Okay. We're talking about lead funnel. Either way, we're tackling the first funnel and out of the three that we covered last week and asking me lead funnels, if you need examples, you can actually go to. For this week only. This will change. Okay. This URL is not going to be a consistent one. Just, just put it out. There it is. Builders.myclickwindels.com coaching-corner There are links on here to live examples. I'll put this in the chat here just so you have it. But if you see that's different next week. That's because it is. And we use this, we use this page here for presentations and whatnot out.
If you want the link next week, you got to show up.
That's right. That's it. You got to be here 100%. But that will take you to a page where. Which is what we're looking at right now. And there's examples that you can go through for each of those three funnel types. We got the lead funnel, tripwire and core offer if you need them. Okay. But without further ado, we're gonna be walking through how to actually map it out with different tools. There's one not listed on here and that's gonna be the first one. We should probably Cover. It's the one that. I don't know where he found it. I didn't even know these existed anymore. And I'm happy that we're able to pull one. As a paid actor for this, I.
Think everyone should have one of these at home because it's my favorite thing to use whenever I start. I still love just Tyson. I didn't tell you this, but like before, my one. My one comma club roadmap was on here. My one comma club value ladder was on here before I had to wipe it all off.
You got rid of. Do you take a picture first? You. You gotta take a picture before.
I built the funnel already. But if. If you don't have those tools, if you don't like technology, if you like working with a pen and paper, you can pretend there's pen and paper. I like whiteboards. So do my kids. They totally use up the black one. So I have to go with the green one. But. But let's. Let's talk about a lead funnel, right? On your lead funnel, what are you gonna have? Like, right now you're thinking about a lead funnel. I have to do all this design. I have to do all these things. Stop thinking about that. Just break it down really easily. You have your traffic. So let's do. Let's see. Like this, this circle here is your traffic. Can you see it?
Can you see it? Yeah. Let's see if I can make you larger. Does that make it larger on your side as well?
A little bit, yeah. This is your traffic, right? Where are you sending them to? You're just sending them to a page here and then a thank you, right? This is opt in and thank you, right? How scary is that?
Okay, we got two checks. No, we got two checks on our checklist here, right?
This is your lead. This is lead funnel. I have terrible handwriting, and that's why I type most of my life. This lead funnel. It's also really hard to write this way. But then from here, you have your email sequence, right? So you have your email one, email two, email three, email four, whatever it is. But this is it. Like, this is what you have to think about. This is your. This is the lead funnel, right? A lot of people think, like, I have to build the opt in page, the thank you page, all the emails. Like, this isn't scary. When you put it. When you put pen to paper, it's not that scary.
Just one time, Just one time.
Once you build this, cross it off, right? Then you build this one. You cross it off and Then you have your emails. All right, that one's done. If you want to add like a delay here, say like you want to delay it for one day. Add the delay step. We'll show you how to do that. And then you do the second email, the third and the fourth, and so on like this. I know the whole thinking about the whole ecosystem of your funnel and how you're going to have traffic come into your funnel and how you're going to do the follow ups and how you're going to make money from it. Like, stop overthinking it. I know we've said it a lot of times, but just don't overthink it. Just get this on paper first, put the architecture together first and it'll seem a lot less daunting when you really sit down to do it. And then it's just so easy to like clickfunnels. Makes it super easy to get each one of these steps done right. You, if you sit down for a couple hours, I'm sure it can be done. Um, but this, this is what Tyson was really excited about. Present.
I love whiteboards. I used to have a giant one in my, my room. My wife does not allow for that at this moment in time. She's said it's not very attractive on a wall, unfortunately. But if I could, I would have a whiteboard room and that would make me totally happy.
And you know, like in today's world, everyone's remote on the go. Maybe they bring their laptops or their phones. I can't really bring this around to wherever I am. All right, that's fair.
That's also true. That's fine.
So this would, this would be in my home with like the whole architecture maybe laid out. But I think technology has advanced far enough that we can have it on the go.
And funny enough, that's kind of what we're talking about today as well as just walking through another thing you can do outside of whiteboards. So you want something on the go, you said. I got you. Okay, first things first, your notes app, if you use an iPhone. Okay. The notes app on your phone let you draw. You can do the same thing he just did on a whiteboard directly on your phone or an iPad. Okay. Android as well. I double. I checked that you can use, I think it's called Google Keep is like the default Notes app on Androids. You can draw on there too. There you go. Okay.
That's one way we don't discriminate.
Don't discriminate. Not at all. Android Whatever you want, it all gets you to the same. Same goal. Um, but the other one is Canva. I feel like a lot of people at this point are using Canva for design work for. I mean, anything design, right at this point. You can create any background you can think of, any images for your funnels. You can create anything. But you also create whiteboards. And let's head over to Canvas so I can show you. They have a free three accounts and a paid account. I believe you can do the whiteboard session on a free account as well. You don't need a paid account to do this. So another. Another option. And you can also download. Don't download that on your phone as well, so you can keep it on the go. But up here at the top, there's an option for whiteboard inside of your canva account. And once you click on that, it'll take you to a page just like this. Boom, we're in the whiteboard. The whiteboard is basically the same thing Rob is doing, except it's with your mouse here or your finger or however you prefer. And you can draw, you can add shapes, you can add lines, whatever you want. If you want to get real archaic here, just draw. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna try my best. Please don't make fun of my drawing. Good luck. That's not good. You can make fun of that. That's okay. Hold on. You're not gonna know what that is.
You didn't need. You didn't need Windex to get rid of that.
Didn't need Windex, man. We're saving the environment.
Oh, man.
One ugly drawing at a time. Okay. This is often page. Boom. O, P, T. Beautiful. We have one page. We can lay out the sections and stuff later on if we want to, but, you know, we're not going to do that right now. We're going to move on. Next step that we have to create in a lead funnel is a thank you page. Okay. So we're going to draw another rectangle here. Oh, geez. Oh, geez. The mouse on here is not the way to go. Using the finger is probably way easier. And this is going to be your thank you page. T, Y. There we go. Okay. Thank you, Paige. Beautiful. We have two steps in this funnel now. Now, what else do we need?
Let's go with the elements. Elements.
Okay. I like that.
There's a cheat code here. You want to do like Tyson's in mine.
Okay.
You can use the canva elements.
You can use canva elements. They have graphics they have photos if you want. Over here. I would say this one right here looks great. You can actually just drag an image, a graphic on the page.
Oh, that's. I mean, I think yours is nicer, but I think we should use the elements.
Okay.
You know, let us know what you use in the chat. What. What tools do you use to build out your funnels? Do you build out your funnels like this before you start actually building them out on Click funnels, I'm curious.
There we go. Okay. Actually, I could just copy paste. Yeah. Boom. Okay, cool. We have two steps here. In this funnel, we have an opt in page. Now we have a thank you page. Now we have the flow down. We understand that there's two steps here. That's it. Now, emails. Right. Again, we'll just stick to the elements theme here. I think I already had one, but we could do email. Boom. There we go. Drag and drop a little bit larger.
Living large on the pro version.
You gotta. Man, I. I don't know how I would survive without Canva. I hate. I'm not a Photoshop person. I used to use it. It's just. This is so much faster.
And then, you know what I want to do? Can you add. Is there like a clock? Like, let's add a delay or something that we can put in between. Yeah, exactly. Like, put those in between the emails so you know which ones get a delay, which ones don't, which email gets kicked off from which page. Once you have this mapped out, like it's. It's. You're building your own directions. Imagine I use Waze to go everywhere nowadays, right? I use directions most of the time. This is that this. These are just literally directions that you follow to have to get your funnel live. And it just makes things so much easier. You don't have to think about it. You. You build it out once and then you're done, right? And then. And you can repeat it. Like, you can use this for multiple funnels. So in case you forgot what you like, how you built out this lead funnel. Obviously you can duplicate the funnel, duplicate the automation in click Funnels. But if you wanted to change anything up, if you wanted to split, test, you know, emails or how many emails go out in different places, map it out and then take some notes, see what works.
There we go. You can use elements. Elements is the cheat code in Canva to make this look beautiful instead of me drawing it out like this. That was crazy. I don't know why I opted to do that, but I thought it'd Be fun for the presentation here. I wouldn't do that normally. I would just use the elements like Rob said.
Absolutely.
Type it in. Just go up over here on the left hand side of this page, click on elements and you can type in anything. You think of an image, you can see images or graphics appear. But I'll usually use the graphics and kind of copy paste here.
If you have clients you're building funnels for, this could be something cool that you show them, right? This is like how you show them what you're going to be building and what the whole layout of the funnel is, Right. Some people will be able to understand this. They'll be able to understand like an outline like this. Instead of you just telling them what the flow will be like, they'll. They'll say, okay, I get this. Like first there's going to be an opt in page, then there's going to be a thank you. And after they opt in, they're going to get this sequence of emails. Right. And then you can highlight all this. Right, Tyson? If we highlighted the pages and the emails and then copy and pasted it right underneath and we just say they go from the opt in funnel to the bridge funnel and then you just modify a little bit. But it's a great way to show clients what you're going to be building out also and just show them how much work goes into it. But it's, I love the visual. I'm a visual learner and I like to, I like to do this for most of the funnels that I put together, just to know where I am.
Absolutely. And yeah, you can copy the entire thing like you're saying copy paste. Boom. Now we have a couple steps here. We can go and add on to it. You can copy and paste and keep copy and pasting basically so you have the understanding of the flow. Maybe we'll add a couple more emails. Say this is like we're not doing opt in page. Maybe we're doing a cart funnel. Right? Some sort of sales funnel. Well, maybe we would have an opt in page in the beginning and second page maybe would be the order form. And you want like another email sequence listed out here. We can do that. We can just. Maybe I'll just switch this up, put this below, rotate it. Does that look crazy? And then we can go over here, copy paste. And now we have another email sequence. Obviously beautify yourself. But the point is that we're doing it quickly. We're just going in and so we have some sort of rhythm, some sort of thing to go off of. That's it. Absolutely. This is a whole different funnel. I should probably pull this apart. Boom. Okay, cool. You can do it all the same canvas if you want to.
And this is us using our imagination here. Right. But like, what if I didn't have this grand imagination like you do, Tyson? What if I don't know what my funnel structure should look like? I don't know what a lead funnel looks like. I don't know what a cart funnel looks like. I don't know what a bridge. I don't know what anything looks like. I don't know how many emails I should have. I don't know any of that. What do I do?
Okay, so this is magical tool that clickfunnels has in your disposal or I guess available to you that you can use where it has like everything thought of for you already. And so all you have to do is click a few buttons and it adds a template for you. This magical tool is called about guru. Just k giru g r u. If you go to guru.com. let's see if I. Let's see g dot com. There we go. Guru dot com. This is the landing page. Check it out. Enjoy it. Have fun. Join for free. Join. Join today. Free trial.
I don't know if you did get. If you were able to pick up the. The, you know that offer Russell was promoting a couple weeks ago, the 1cc offer?
Yeah.
This is included. So you have this. If you haven't used this yet and you bought that offer, go. You have to check this out. It is awesome. And Tyson will show you why. Tyson, take it away.
Okay. Before I show you blueprints, I just want to show you that what we did in Canva can be done here way quicker and a lot more professional by just dragging things to the canvas area. There's specific page types already listed here for you. For example, if we're creating a lead funnel, I can grab an opt in page and I can grab a thank you page. Boom. Okay, I've connected that. Now if I line it up, I'd rather, I'd rather.
I'd rather my whiteboard better.
I mean, it looks good. I understand that this is great.
And you're right. Like you have the actual page type also.
Yeah, same page type, ready to go. And it has a visual. If you drag it close to an existing page. Like you kind of saw it there. There happened a second ago. If I hovered the thank you page next to the opt in page, it connected by default like a line. So you Know the flow. It's a little fancy little addition there. Now, if you want to add emails, cool. I can just drag an email step in there. If I drag it near a page or step, it'll show an arrow and it connects it just like that. If I want to add a delay, I can do that. I can add a delay in between or just like get close to that email step, it'll connect a line and just like that we have a delay next to an email, next to another email. I did this in two seconds. Now we have the same thing we created in Canva, but it looks way better.
Looks way better. You didn't have to, I mean, you didn't have to go searching for elements because canva is like, it's a global tool, right? It's not built to help you build funnels. You can use it to help you build funnels if you have that subscription and you. And you live in Canva for sure.
Yeah, right.
But like this tool was built to help you build funnels. Like, that's what this does. And I know right now we're showing you that, like, use your imagination and map it out. Show, you know, the opt in page that. Thank you. Then the email sequence is there more?
There's more. I think we cover the more. I think we should cover them more.
Let's show them more.
You don't have to think about it. If you want something that's already been set up professionally for you. Okay, so inside of Guru, if you go up to the top right side of the screen, there will be a little. Looks like a blueprint icon. And that's exactly what it is. This is blueprints within the platform already created for you. Just click on that and it'll show you different funnel types. Just like this. You can scroll through. You can see a bunch of them here. Right. In our case, we're looking for a squeeze page funnel. Right? A lead squeeze. Lead Squeeze funnel is what it's referred to as. If I click on that, it's going to take us to the preview for that specific funnel type. It already has traffic connected. Let me zoom out a little bit here. There we go. You see traffic up here. You see the flow of the funnel steps. Here you see the flow of the emails already connected.
The decision tree like it shows you. If somebody opts in through the email, send them to whatever that page is, the content page. If it doesn't, send them another email. Once they opt in from the email, send them to the content page and then stop sending them the Rest of the emails.
How crazy.
I, I'm just gonna break my whiteboard. I'll give it to my kids so they can draw on it because I don't need that whiteboard anymore. I have giru. Like, this is so cool. And like it has so many different blueprints. We were going over how many type of blueprints there were. It is, they literally have like cart abandonment funnel, ecom coupon free plus shipping funnel. They have everything. Mini courses, survey funnels, webinar live funnels. Let's do a webinar one. Let's, let's see what that. Webinars are huge these days. We've had a lot of strategy clients come through like asking to help us help them with webinars. This one looks a little complex, but all you got to do is go step by step.
Yeah, let's just zoom in here. Forget the rest. Let's just zoom in. Okay, we got step one. All right. Then we got step two here. Thank you, Paige. And then we have an email sequence that happens after the fact of them opting in and joining, registering for that webinar. Boom, boom, boom. You can see the follow sequence here. One email at a time leads you to the webinar page itself. The live webinar. It's just, it's mapping out the entire sequence. The cool thing with this is it's just going to still give you that, that checklist but in half the time. That's just, that's the whole thing. You can do it the old school way. And I still do. I still love doing pen to paper sometimes it's nice, but it's also nice to just be able to start right where you want and then kind of jump into action a lot faster.
And I just, I love the, the blueprints here. Like, I know it's, it's really hard to, to picture a full funnel in your mind. And like some people, you know, they just van go it and they like grab a whiteboard and just do it all themselves. But like, if you're not sure, if you're unsure what your funnel should look like with the complete ecosystem, right, from one funnel to another, to the email automations, to the decisions, right? Did they click on, did they opt in here? Did they opt in there? What do I send them if they do, if they don't? I think this is a really, really great tool. And like you were doing before, just zoom in. Just zoom into that front row, the top row first. Just do this first. You don't even. Just do the first page. You don't need to look at the whole thing and get scared that this is too much work. Just do one at a time. Just take it slow. Do one at a time. If you joined us last week, we showed you a preview of the funnel template gallery that will be released shortly. These pages aren't hard to build because we build them for you. You just have to customize it.
Yeah.
Add your offer into it.
The templates, I mean, these templates are also inside of clickfunnels. So the whole point of this is just so you have an idea of what you're building beforehand, but they go and actually grab the templates. Or like you said, it already been created in the platform. It's already been done as well for the same funnel type, if you want to add more steps to match exactly, you know, match the flow that you see over here exactly, then you just duplicate some pages or add another page in there, and that's really it. Most of them are already following the structure. That's the cool part. There's all these templates that you'll end up finding in either area. Guru clickfunnels, like, they're making it so easy for you just to have some sort of idea what you're doing.
Absolutely. And people might be wondering what these numbers are, like, 40%, 100%. So Guru has this cool thing where you can kind of predict what. What the outcome of your webinar, or whatever funnel it is, will be. So you can say, I'm going to get, you know, 500 people to opt in, and then you can give it percentages of, like, how many people actually show up to the webinar, how many people convert, how many people buy the upsell, all the different things, and it'll show you exactly what you would make from this funnel. Right. And it's all hypothetical. It's like you have to play with the numbers a little bit, but you can, you know, build out different models that are just like high, medium and low. So there's a lot of cool features here. But. But I think the. The main message is funnels can look scary. Like, thinking about building out a complete funnel can look scary, but as long as you have kind of like have this direction and you can see what comes first, what comes second, third, fourth, like, it's not that bad. And this is, again, like we were saying, this is just the map. This is the map of or the blueprint. That's the perfect word for it. It's the blueprint of your funnel. Right. And this is Just the blueprint to actually put this in to practice on clickfunnels is super easy. We have all the templates for you. You just have to build it out. Just click one.
You can add phones to your sequences. You can add phone calls. S. Text messages. Oh, yeah.
If you're not using text messages, man.
Oh, you can plan it all out. It's so cool. If you're not planning with it yet, go check it out. Go to guru.com that's really it. We're just trying to make it so this is not an overwhelming process. If it is overwhelming, you run into any issues while doing this. If you need some, some helping hands, reach out to us outreach@clickfunnels.com that's the magic, magic email there. And we're happy to walk through anything. We'll strategize with you. We'll hop on a call just to see where you're at and get you to where you want to be. That's it. That's the goal.
Absolutely. So, yeah, no, it's. I think this was a lot of fun because we were just like chatting about what we're going to talk about this week and we're like, we just showed everybody, like, what the full thing looks like and we got some comments like, that looks a little scary. So we're like, let's, let's bring it back down. Let's, let's bring it back to earth and show them that it's not that bad and show them the tools to use it. If you bought the 1cc offer, like Giro is included. If you didn't, Guru is still available to you. Go check it out.
Guru.com Also, if this, if this seems overwhelming, you can go back to pen and paper. Pen and paper. It goes simpler as you go back, but it also, you lose some, some functionality and features. But not everyone uses those. So if you have pen and paper. Everyone has pen and paper. Go get some pen and paper. Go get a. If you have a whiteboard already, just pull it out of the closet. I know a lot of people have whiteboards in their closets waiting to be used. Make it as un. Remove the hurdles. That's all I'm saying. So if you can just map it out beforehand and you'll feel a lot better about what you're doing. That's it.
Absolutely. If you want to. If you want our help mapping out your funnel. Outreachlickfunnels.com I don't know why I'm pointing here. There's nothing there.
