In this monologue, Tony Stark Policci recounts the viral story of 15‑year‑old Clara Daly, who assisted a deaf‑and‑blind passenger on a flight by using her American Sign Language skills and spending an hour conversing with him. He shares Clara’s modest remarks about her actions, then pivots to a broader critique of contemporary self‑centered attitudes, highlighting how many people prioritize personal gain, status, and material possessions over helping others, even family. Policci praises Clara and her parents as exemplars of self‑less behavior, and urges viewers to adopt her mindset, coining the hashtag #LiveLikeClara. He argues that widespread love, faith, sacrifice, and courage could resolve many global problems, concluding with a heartfelt thank‑you to Clara for inspiring a more compassionate world.

If you've watched the news in the last 24 hours, you may have seen a story about a young woman named Clara Daly. Now, Clara is a 15-year-old teenager from Los Angeles, and she was on a flight from Massachusetts going to Portland when an announcement came across the loudspeaker that the flight crew was looking for someone that knew ASL. There was a deaf and blind man on board who was traveling alone and needed some assistance. Well, Clara volunteered because she had taken a year of it, and she went and helped the man on two separate occasions to communicate what he needed. But a third time she was requested because the man apparently was lonely. So Clara stayed in the aisle and communicated with him for about an hour. Now, this has gone viral. You know, it went all over Facebook, all over the internet. People are calling her a hero and everything else. And I watched a video interview of her this morning, and what she said was so powerful I just felt like I needed to share it and commented on it. This is what she said: It's crazy that people have been so touched by this story. They've taken it to heart and found comfort in the world through me. I don't know, I think it's just kind of weird. I mean, you just do things because you do them and you're supposed to. Like, that's how the world works. But then people go and call you extraordinary, but it's just something that you do. Huh. Well, Clara, that is so beautiful, and whatever your parents did to instill that in you, I applaud them. But you know what? That's not what the world does. That's not just what people do. In fact, most of the time, people are all about themselves. Selfish, self-centered, what's in it for me? I don't have time for anybody else. I can't serve anybody else. What else can I get? What else can I add to my list of belongings? How nice of a car can I own? Where can I travel? How much fame can I get? Who else can I impress? What photos can I take of famous people and post them? But you know what? People are not helping the ones closest to them. We're not reaching out to the strangers. In fact, I know a lot of people that don't even reach out to their own family members. They hold grudges. They have the means to help those around them, but they don't because they refuse to forgive. They refuse to love. They refuse to be self-sacrificing. Well, you know what, Clara? You are extraordinary, and there are a lot of extraordinary people in the world who do live like Clara, who do love like Clara. And sweetheart, I don't know what your life is like. I don't know if this was just a rare moment and you are like so many other teenagers that really are just all concerned with what they're wearing, how they're looking, how clean their skin is, how their selfies look, whether or not they got the right duck pose in their selfie. I'm not sure. But sweetheart, and I apologize for calling you that, but for that moment, that beautiful, beautiful moment that was captured and has been shared, I applaud you. And I applaud your parents. And you know what I think? I think we should all hashtag Live like Clara. Live like Clara, because that would make the world a much better place. Stop worrying about yourself so much. We were put here to serve one another. Do you know if we would just serve one another, if everyone would serve one another, all of the problems on this planet would disappear. But that takes love. That takes faith. That takes sacrifice. That takes courage. So my charge right now to anyone that sees this: #LiveLikeClara. Love like Clara. Make the world a better place. We can do it. It's not that hard. Thank you, Clara. Thank you for your love. Thank you for inspiring us.
