Day 34: Delay is destructive

Tony Stark Policci, exhausted on day 34 of his daily-video challenge, admits he's struggled to keep the promise and hit a creative wall. He talks about a men's meeting on gratitude, a bike ride where a problem solved itself overnight, and introduces a "new moment" mindset: resetting multiple times a day instead of waiting until tomorrow to recover from missed commitments.

Okay, it is now almost 11 o'clock at night on day 34, and about 6 hours ago I was saying to myself, "Dude, you gotta make the video for today before you forget all the things you want to talk about." And I just kept working because I have, um, a lot of things that are coming due at the same time. And I've got to get them done, right? People are depending on me, and here I am, like, exhausted, and I have absolutely no idea what I was going to share with you today. So, it's super frustrating because I'm extremely tired, and I want to be able to just push through it and you know, like be able to spit off all this cool stuff that I thought about today and recognized, and it's just not there. So, I'll tell you what I do remember. Yesterday I shared about what happened after the men's meeting that I hosted. Now, we had this talk about gratitude and language. And today I was really hyper-aware of being grateful and really just being thankful for what I have, including the challenges. Two days ago, I posted a video after I'd been on a bike ride, and I talked about how I had a problem that I didn't have a solution for, and I didn't know how I was going to solve it. And lo and behold, I came up with a solution the next day and solved it, like out of nowhere. So there's an awful lot to be said for this, you know, speaking what we want to happen. Speaking blessings, not curses. Speaking positively, not losing hope, not giving up just because there's no evidence that things are going to work out, and to continue to press in. You know, everything in life that is worthwhile is hard, right? And I think everybody battles with trying to just deal with their own demons, physical maladies, things happening, and, you know, I'm so tired. I'm not making any sense right now. I really hate that. So, I apologize. I'm just going to chalk this one up to I'm making the video because I've started this challenge, uh, the stretch, and said I was going to do a video every day, and I have not done that. And I went back and looked at some of the videos today and realized, wow, you know, I'm out of integrity. I said I was going to do a video every day, and I have not done a video every day. So I'm working to change that. And I guess that's one of the things I wanted to mention today was if you make a commitment and then you fall short, rather than beating yourself up about it, pick yourself up, start over. Do moment, new moment, new moment. And sometimes we need to have new moments multiple times throughout the day, right? You start off great, you get off track, new moment, start over. Don't have to wait till tomorrow's another day thing. Like, this moment's another moment. So maybe that'll be beneficial to somebody, and I will talk to you tomorrow.
