Day 52: Low Energy. Bad Mood. No Motivation. Still Moving Forward.

Tony Stark Policci documents a rough day of low energy, poor sleep, and emotional drain, but pushes forward anyway on his 90-day challenge. He argues that energy is a choice and professionals act without waiting for inspiration, even when leaving the gym feels easier than facing what comes next.

Okay, today is Sunday and I just got done in the gym. I think a couple hours in there today. It was slow going. I was kind of slogging through the lifting part and had this upset yesterday. My mindset has just not been right. I've allowed things to get to me. Patient yesterday. And, you know, I feel it in my body. I feel exhausted, not sleeping well, got pain in lots of different places. And I, like, the motivation to do what's on my plate today is just at an all-time low. I'm fighting everything in me that wants to just go to sleep, or, you know, just like not deal with the things that I want to deal with. I am feeling a sense of anger and sadness and shame, fear. I've got all of the you know, the draining emotions going on today. And in spite of that, you know, so I'm— my schedule is off too. I did not get the morning sunlight because I came to the gym when it was still dark. And by the time the sun was up, I mean, I was— I would have had to interrupt my workout to go stand outside for 15 or 20 minutes, and I just didn't feel like doing that. So, um, the— like, nutrition is off. I had, um, like a brownie for dessert last night, and I feel like just the sugar throws me off. I don't know what it is. It could be a combination of things. Bottom line is I don't feel on top of the world today. So I've done my declaration, right? You know, stated, stated, you know, my mission and my contract. And if you guys don't know what that is, I'll, you know, just comment and I'll explain it. But, you know, I have very important things to accomplish today, commitments that I've made, and I'm going to see them through. I'm going to push through it because, you know, when you're a pro, you don't wait for inspiration, right? You just do the work and think about that in just relation to your life. You know, God bless the people that always wake up and feel ready to go and just take charge of the day, right? God bless you if you have like an absolute direction every single day, and you know from one hour to the next exactly what you get to do, what you want to do. And for anybody that's struggling, you know, maybe you wake up and you don't know what to do. You've got problems you can't solve, you don't have solutions for. You know, I understand what that feels like too. But here's the thing, you know, as disappointed as I am with the way that I showed up yesterday and as lack— lack of— I don't even know what the word is. I want to say non-energetic, unenergetic. That's not great grammar for a copywriter. That's pretty bad. But for the complete lack of energy and drive that I actually feel today, that's not going to stop me from doing what needs to be done. I will muster up the energy and the excitement because energy is a choice. And I will do everything I can to make this an outstanding day. I'm just sharing this with you because whenever I get to my next video, you know, I'll be able to report how this went and whether my intention made a difference. Again, that's one of the points of this 90-day stretch, is to shift my mindset and to overcome the normal natural tendencies and inertia and things that bog me down, and that can bog you down. So, um, walking out of the gym felt unsafe in a way. It was very strange. Like, I'm— I'm— it's like I'm safe in the gym. I'm comfortable here. I know what to expect here. And now I have to leave and go address the things that I don't really want to do. So that's, I'm sure, where that came from. Very interesting to just sit with that and be aware of it. So that's it for this video, and I'll see you next time.
