We're just crapping on the miracle of life. So our job isn't to be perfect and never scroll on Instagram, never watch a movie that's kind of dumb, but you watch it anyway. That's not our job. Our job is to be aware so we do that a little less and we focus on what matters a little more. Welcome to this special episode of the Direct Your Life Podcast. I'm Tony Suriano, your host. And today I want to get you motivated and create a feeling so you will actually take action. How are we going to do it? We're going to review the acronym DIRECT, okay? We're going to jump right into it, and then I'm going to challenge you at the end because it's not enough to listen passively. I'm taking you from passive mode to power mode, okay? We want you out of your head. I want you into your body, and I want you in alignment with what really matters to you. By the way, welcome to the warehouse. If you're watching on YouTube, this is a really cool warehouse. If you're on the podcast audio, you can envision it. There is a lot of warehouse items all around me. Let's get into it. Direct your life is all about don't think. Don't overthink is really the clarity we need. I used to be an overthinker, never served me. Don't overthink, just do it. The I stands for initiate. Sometimes I change the I to other things. Today it's initiate. Okay, you know what you need to do. Initiate. It's a great word. The R is for recite your why. I've said this in the past. If you don't recite your why and your reasons, you're not gonna do it. But think about that time in your life. There was a reason you showed up. You must have reflected. You must have been told something or thought of something of a why, and that's what helped you show up. Recite your why. Now, before I go into the rest, I want you to know that if you're watching, You are of the few. If you study any personal development, you're of the very few. And if you want to change your life so others around you can have a better experience, you're in the top percent. So I thank you for being here. Let's continue. Envision your end goal. Envision the future. Envision the present right now. When I say envision, I want absolute clarity. I want you to realize you're a creator. You can write, you can draw, you can take pictures, you can gather pictures on the internet and have a vision board of what you want your life to be like, what you want the next goal to be like. And I want to say straight to you, you don't hear it enough. You can grow. You deserve to expand. Don't let your lifestyle right now dictate what it's going to be tomorrow or in 5 years. Don't let your past experiences dictate what you can or cannot do. Yes, some of the past has the confident moments we can call back on and help us in the moment. But a lot of the past has doubt and fear and uncertainty. You don't want to bring that into today. You don't want to bring that into your future. So when I say clarity is power, it is. Get clear on what you know you deserve. And if you don't know you deserve it, listen to me tell you, you deserve it. You can grow. And that's why you're here. That's why I'm here. Let's go to the next letter. Okay, what is it? Anyone listen to a past episode? You might know it. It's not the R, it's not the E, it's the C. Direct. The C stands for care for yourself deeply. Not enough of us care for ourselves deeply. I know I'm guilty. The other week I started getting down on myself. Luckily, I practice awareness. So much that after about an hour, I caught myself and realized this isn't serving me. It's not serving my wife or anyone I talk to. So get out of it. So I started to recite the old self-talk, and I would tell myself, all right, Tony, uh, you're going into a downward spiral. It's not going to be fun. You have a choice to do the opposite. So what are you going to pick? All right, make it fun. Think about good things and what cool, fun, interesting experimental actions can I take right now to get myself out of it? So I started be— being that experimenter, that action taker through creativity. And I invite you in. That's one of the challenges. I want you to get more creative with how you become more self-aware. First thing that comes to mind Write on your walls. Please write on your walls. And I mean that figuratively. I mean that literally, whatever you're okay with. But get some stuff up on your walls that are meaningful. They call it a vision board for a reason. You see it every day. You look at it, and before you know it, your reticular activation system is focusing on it, and now you're here. What do I mean by that? I mean, this warehouse is where I'm filming an interview for a very important event and a very important concoction to be hired for events. So this happened because I kept manifesting it. I kept writing it, researching. I was in the struggle phase of flow where you're just overwhelmed with information. I need this, I need that. I want to speak at that event. I want to contact that event planner. I went through all that, and then I took some time off, and then it started coming to me. I started realizing, oh, this is what I have to say. This is what this interview should be like. Now that I have the ability, let's plan an interview because that's what they need. And I did it, and I'm here at this really cool warehouse filming the interview. And I decided, you know what, let's keep the camera rolling and let me be here for you. That's the reason I shared that, because the more you think about, the more you bring about. Envision the end goal, the goal, the present, the fun, the beautiful person you're going to meet in the future, or the beautiful person you have now. You want their, their beauty amplified, you think about it, okay? You envision it with clarity. Okay, now the last one is T. That is for time, baby. Time is precious. It is the non-renewable resource, and we all have the same amount. Isn't that scary? And what I mean by that is we have 24 hours in a day. If you go to the gym and you get this done and you do that versus the other guy that doesn't, do you have more hours in your day? No, you don't. You have priorities. You have vision, and that dictates the priority. When you don't have enough time, when you feel stressed and overwhelmed, here is a beautiful tip I learned from Tony Robbins, and it's one word: reprioritize. You have to constantly reprioritize. So get your list, look at it, and say to yourself, which one has to happen to move the needle? Which one has to happen to make me fulfilled, to get that progress that I require for the good life? These are things I ask myself, and when I do, everything's better, and I reprioritize, and then I hit the ground running, and everything is just smoother. Yeah, I'm gonna fall and trip, but I get up because I know the path, I know the target. Time is precious. Don't waste it. The T also stands for take massive action. Don't wait for someone to tell you you're ready. Don't wait for yourself to tell you you're ready. Just gather some information, give yourself a little, a little time, but then go. You only need 60%. You want to be a dancer in public? That just came to me. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to know the choreography. Practice, set a date, and then perform it. And you'll learn because failure is not failure, it's feedback. We're all so scared of failing and looking silly and uncomfortable. And I go through that still, but I catch myself. And the way I catch myself is this acronym, DIRECT. Because if you stop overthinking and just do it, You're in the clear. If you integrate and you, you initiate, you're in motion. If you care for yourself deeply and you recite your why— why do you deserve this? Why do you want it? And it's okay to be superficial first, but keep asking. Ask yourself why, and then say, why do I want that? Why do I want that? Wow, why do I want a good relationship with my wife? That's a weird question, right? Do you ask yourself why enough? Why do you want a relationship? It's a strange question, but I can say, well, I want to have a smooth day and I want to have fun and I want to experience joy. Then I can say, well, why do I want to experience joy? Now, speaking frankly to you, I can say my answer would be, well, there was about a decade that I didn't have that much joy in my life. I was isolated. I didn't have real relationships, and I was a recluse hiding away. And I didn't allow myself— I didn't feel the care for myself to give myself joy. Because we can have joy with a snap of fingers. if your rules aren't so harsh. If your rules aren't so harsh, you can have more joy, happiness. And I was reflecting on that. What are your rules for happiness or joy? Is it to be in a paradise on a beach that's really far from your home and stay there for 6 months? Not everyone can do that. Trust me, I did it, and that didn't bring happiness and joy. It was cool. Yeah, for sure. And I was happy in the moment, but after a while, I had to start reflecting and think about what else makes me happy and what are my rules for happiness. I'll give you a hint. Make it easy. Be in the moment. Look around, or feel around if you can't see. Listen and just be grateful for your senses. It's cliché, it's simple, it almost sounds silly and foo-foo, but it is real. When I take walks, this is what happens to me. I have this ecstasy. It's another word for being in flow. I'm in the moment and I'm present. Right now I'm here alone, but I actually feel like I'm surrounded by so much energy and people because I allow it in. And I'm using my senses right now to their fullest so I can speak freely, I could feel freely, and, and love what's around me and love you on the other end. And I feel like you're there. There is this channel, and I hope that I'm transcending some of the energy if you need it so you can have a better day. And lastly, don't forget Time is so precious. When we waste it on nonsense, which we all do, we're just crapping on the miracle of life. So our job isn't to be perfect and never scroll on Instagram, never watch a movie that's kind of dumb but you watch it anyway. That's not our job. Our job is to be aware so We do that a little less and we focus on what matters a little more. I hope this is an exciting episode for you. I hope you have the energy. I hope you feel good because this is what it's about, transcending my energy and enthusiasm over to you. That's it for this episode. I just wanted to share these things and kind of reconnect with you on this DIRECT acronym. I believe it's a great little framework. And you can come up with your own. Use this, but hey, come up with a word you like. Make an acronym that represents your life. That's your second challenge. Impromptu challenge for you. So your first challenge was whatever I said back then, and your second challenge is to come up with your own acronym that can support your life, the life you want, the joy you know you deserve. That is it for this episode. Again, my name is Tony Suriano. Thank you for being here. If you like this episode, share it with someone. I'm looking to share this with everyone I can. Comment, let me know what you think. I really appreciate your time. Thank you.
