When customers know they have a problem, they need to feel understood before they'll listen to your solution. Mirror their pain and show genuine empathy, because customers won't consider what you're selling until they feel heard.
I can't stand when my wife does this.
I just feel like I'm kind of like feel off today, like kind of low energy, and my stomach is making like all these weird noises. Well, have you eaten today? I mean, I had a saltine cracker around lunchtime, but other than that, no.
So welcome to day 7. We're talking about stage 2, also known as the problem-aware stage. My wife's obviously intelligent. She can clearly deduce that she's hungry, yet before I start to rattle off a bunch of her favorite restaurants and try to find a solution, all she really wants is for me to mirror to hear her pain and to understand where she's coming from. And listen, as guys, it can suck sometimes to take that little extra step to connect emotionally and empathize with her, especially when the solution is so obvious. Let me ask you a question. Do you want to get laid or not? So eyes on the prize, okay? Your customers are no different. They're not ready to talk solutions until they know you understand their problems. And that's what problem-aware ads are all about. Prove that you are in their shoes with them and that you understand their problems. Now, when we get down to making ads in a future video, Remember today and that you're not making money, empathy is. Now that's day 7 of 100 Day Ad School. Tomorrow you'll be learning about stage 3, solution aware. Class dismissed.
