Two speakers debate Gary Vaynerchuk's claim that flipping thrift store finds is the fastest way to turn $20 into $10,000. One argues it's limited by location and supply inconsistency, while the other says paid advertising and digital marketing offer a faster, more scalable path.
Yo, Gary Vee missed the mark on this video.
The quickest way to go from $20 to $10,000, I genuinely believe, is thrift stores and garage sales. Genuinely. Because it's a place where you can buy things for a quarter, 50 cents, and a dollar and get $20. You can't do that in many other places.
Yeah. Listen, Gary Vee, you're my guy. I love you, bro. But I got to disagree with you on this one. You actually are limited by external factors that you can't control, starting with where you live. There might be a lot of thrift stores, a lot of garage sales happening, maybe in a metro area. But for those that live in a rural area, there might not be be a whole lot going on. Secondly, you have to have a ton of knowledge about different items being worth something else. You can't just walk into a garage sale and instantly know if something's of value or not. Fastest way to turn $20 into $10,000, in my opinion, is through paid ads, through mastering the art of digital marketing and paid advertising, not garage sales.
