AI itself isn't scary, but how we use it is. Throughout history we've replaced human labor to gain efficiency and predictability. AI is a tool that can transform our lives, and that same power that makes it seem frightening is what makes it capable of improving them.
AI is scary. At least that's what people think, right? And ultimately it's not going to be the AI that's going to do that. It's going to be the humans that actually make decisions with the AI.
Now me, I was scared, but Lieutenant Dan, he was mad.
Any time that human beings have ever had an opportunity to replace another human being, they've done that. As human beings, we want to be able to be more efficient. We want to be more productive with our time. We get sick, we get colds, we don't want to come into the office. We have to go on holidays and vacations. We're also incredibly unpredictable. This technology is allowing us in real time to create systems and processes that are predictable and to increase our efficiencies and our outputs. To be completely honest with you, AI is scary in the sense of how much it can actually improve our lives.
