You're an e-com, you gotta check this out. A lot of brands are trying this new style of pop-up which converts up to 250% better in a lot of cases. And so let's break it down, like, what is it doing? So it's saying you've got this discount, to claim it you have to answer this question. So then somebody is prompted to answer like a question, and what happens here? Once you click one of these, then it asks sign up for your discount to receive this discount. Now this works so well because people feel like they earned their discount, and it's commitment bias. Once somebody starts doing something, they answer that question, they're much more likely to enter their email because they've already committed themselves. So this is a really powerful form of in marketing.
You all should be aware of this commitment bias, the idea or thought— it's been well studied— that once somebody starts taking action or making a decision, they're going to continue that pattern of action, and it's easier and easier to do so. So think of it the last time you're filling out a form or starting a multiple choice test. You get that one question done, it's easier to complete the second one, the third one, so on and so forth. And I mean, think about it this way: an object in motion will stay in motion. This is a really awesome tool and trick for you as business owners to apply into your pop-ups, to apply to your websites, landing pages, etc., to try to get people to take these micro commitments that will lead to bigger commitments.
