YEAR VLOG CHALLENGE DAY 10 | The E-Commerce Ad Strategy That Keeps Us Ahead!

Tanner, founder of Syndicate Marketing, breaks down his e-commerce ad strategy: acquire customers profitably on the first purchase, or scale spend to gather data and maximize lifetime value through email and ascension offers. He runs a $500 AI Revenue Renaissance program teaching creators to launch AI-driven campaigns in 14 days, and emphasizes that ads must meet customers where they actually spend time, mainly Meta, TikTok, and Instagram.

Happy Friday. For those of you that are new to the channel, welcome to the daily vlog where I basically just go through my day and I teach people how to sell more crap online. I basically dedicated my life to selling crap online and teaching people how to sell crap online. And we do that in a plethora of ways. First and foremost, obviously we have content like this that I'm starting to create to help people just learn how to sell more stuff online, as well as, you know, we have several e-commerce businesses that we run and operate. We have also a marketing agency called Syndicate Marketing where we help, you know, people that are online course creators, online educators, people with online info products, as well as e-commerce business owners. Market grow, build and scale their businesses online. So we've really kind of mastered the art of online advertising. And in recent, you know, I'd say over the last year and a half, have also made it a big, big, big key focus on our business to be early adopters of AI and to use AI to learn how to cut costs and also improve our marketing campaigns. So hopefully you guys enjoy this, this, this channel. If this is the first time you're tuning in, welcome. And, you know, hopefully you guys get something useful out of this today. There's two ways to really go about building and growing and scaling an e-commerce business. One, you can acquire customers at scale and on the first purchase you're able to actually make a profit. Less important to me to make a little bit of a profit on the front end and only be able to spend, you know, $1,000, $2,000, $5,000 a month. That's not really what we want to do. It's more important for me to be able to scale our spend acquire a ton of customers, get the data, and then be able to figure out how to sell them another product in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months from now. And if we can really get crystal clear on that lifetime value of a customer, what that number looks like on how many more purchases we can get them to make over a 3-month period, 6-month period, well then by all means, then it gives us the confidence to go and spend and scale on a first purchase, even if we're maybe going in the hole. Why? If you're watching this and you're an e-commerce business owner, it's some food for thought because if you can't acquire a customer profitably on the first purchase, you have to become ninjas at your email marketing and on creating other offers and other ascension products to sell your database. If not, You can't operate, you can't build, you can't scale, you can't grow. So anyways, just pulling into the office here shortly. Um, got some good things on the, on the docket for today. I want to kind of go over the main goals. It's Friday. I want to wrap up a ton of loose ends. There's a lot of things that I've got to do to kind of get ready for the weekend. Um, gotta send out some proposals, you know, respond to some emails, etc. Um, I'm doing a live Q&A artificial intelligence call for my AI community. We actually have a $500 product that we sell called the AI Revenue Renaissance. Essentially, the program is all about how to, how to create and launch your first AI-driven marketing campaign in 14 days. And, you know, every Friday at 3 PM Mountain Standard Time, we go live for an hour in that community. So I've got that today, which I'm excited for, to kind of talk to my students, see what they're learning, see what questions they might have. It's always good to kind of communicate with them and yeah, talk about AI. All right, recapping the week here, heading home on the Friday night, and it was a good week, but I definitely did some things that I probably regret doing in the sense of like wasting some time, wasn't as productive as it probably could have been with my time, and it happens. So I'd give myself in terms of productivity, probably a B-. Um, was able to land that one e-com client today, which was great. So he actually ended up, uh, signing and we got, we got their stuff ready to rock and roll. So that's going to be fantastic. Really excited to be working with them. It's a pretty large e-commerce client, which is once again our bread and butter. So that was good news. Um, regarding, uh, the content for the week, definitely could have done a better job on the content. I've been really thinking through a lot of Viral hooks, viral video templates. And I spent the majority of the week kind of brainstorming and creating kind of outlines rather than maybe creating the content itself. So I'm excited that next week we can maybe hopefully make some big breakthroughs there. And that can kind of be a big deal for us, which would be great. I had a conversation today that I wanted to recap with a potential prospect, or the potential client, a prospect. And I was talking about the importance of advertising and advertising primarily on social and Google. And you know what was really interesting? This guy was hearing me out, hearing my spiel. He knows he needs to be advertising, but as I was kind of explaining the importance of spending money on Meta, right? Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. He told me, he's like, Tanner, but, but, you know, I'm, I'm not on TikTok or I'm not on, I'm not on Instagram either. So that's not where I want to be advertising. And it was so funny to me because I said, okay, well, timeout. You're not your prospect. You are an outlier. You're a business owner that is not in any way, shape, or form the person that you're trying to attract. So I don't care where you're at. I don't care if you're actually on Instagram or TikTok or not. Where you need to be is where your customers are. And I can promise you, your customers are on these platforms. And it's a matter of you having the strategy and the creative that's going to attract and strike a chord with these individuals, resonate with them deeply, and encourage them to first and foremost, click on your ad, engage with you as a business owner, and take the next step to becoming a customer and a client of your business. It has nothing to do with where you spend your time. It has everything to do with where your customers spend their time. And it just made me really start to think about a couple different things, mainly in the sense of businesses that have had a hard time adopting this mindset are the businesses that, that, you know, sizzle fizzle. If you don't want to be a sizzle and fizzle type of a business, then you've got to consistently adopt the newest media. And newsflash, that's social. You're going to be able to cover the overwhelming majority of the population of the world using just social media platforms. So that's my, that's my take. I'm sticking to it. Hopefully you guys found something, here in this little rant that was valuable and useful. And once again, if you guys are new to the channel, I would encourage you to like and subscribe. Also hit that bell notification to get notification reminders whenever I post a new video. I'm posting 5 vlog videos a week, as well as a ton of other resources and assets for trainings. So the vlogs are kind of just more day in the life, more my thoughts, things that I'm seeing, things I'm thinking about, things I'm experiencing day to day as an advertiser and an agency owner, an online business owner dedicating my life to growing and building, uh, and getting better at selling things online. But if you are wanting to learn more about simply how to make more money online and sell more stuff online, this is probably the channel for you. So with that being said, check out the other video resources we've got, and I'll see you in the next one.
