REPLAY: Intentional Living w/ Caleb Brown
3 Jul 2026 · 39 min
In this replay of a December 2021 conversation, host Tim Pratt Jr. and guest Caleb Brown explore what it means to live intentionally as a Christian husband, father, trainer, and minister. The dialogue weaves personal stories, biblical passages (Matthew 6:31‑34, Isaiah 40:29‑31, Moses’ leadership), and insights from leadership authors such as John C. Maxwell. Central themes include the necessity of transparency in ministry, the distinction between intention and direction, the role of prayer and relationship with Jesus, and practical steps for applying intentionality in marriage, family, and work. The episode ends with concrete take‑aways—cultivating a personal relationship with Christ, maintaining a vibrant prayer life, and deliberately applying God’s word—plus contact information for Caleb’s “Let’s Talk with CB” ministry.

Hey, this is Tim, and welcome to the Student Life Podcast, where we explore the everyday challenges and big questions of life through a biblical lens while navigating the realities of a secular world. Enjoy. Yo, what's up? So this is Tim Pratt Jr., and, um, and I'm actually going to do a replay episode. I'm doing this for the first time on this podcast. It's not that I don't have anything prepared, uh, but I was looking at— I was in a used bookstore, was traveling with my, my family, my wife and I. We went on a family trip with the kids, and I was in a used bookstore and was picking up John C. Maxwell's book Intentional Living. And of course I'm familiar with that book, I'm familiar with a lot of John C. Maxwell's stuff. Uh, I actually got a chance to see him in person last year at the Global Leadership Summit to see him receive the Lifetime Achievement Award or something like that, dealing with the leadership, Global Leadership Summit. But anyway, I digress. Um, but I was like, man, I was in prayer and I was like, you know what, I went back and listened to this episode with Intentional Living with my bro Caleb Brown. And at the time of the recording, uh, and I had not yet met in person. And now, you know, in 2026, man, he's like, he is definitely like in my inner circle. He's a brother like none other. I mean, just what he's called to, you know, he's a husband, a father, a minister, fitness, like just he just about every Friday, man, does Let's Talk on Facebook. I'm dialed in, Bible, notepad, definitely pastoral, man, a shepherd's heart. And like I say, man, I just, one thing I love about him is that he's so biblically sound. That what he teaches, man, is really timeless. And so again, this is from 2021, December 2021, but I guarantee you, man, if you just, uh, stick with it— I'm jumping right into it, I'm skipping over a lot, like the intro and all of that— but, um, like, you know, he, again, he has a wife and a daughter, and we— I got into all of that. You go back, listen to the original episode. But I want to get into the heart of the conversation and how he unpacked intentional living. And so, man, if you, uh, if you're doing anything, I just encourage you to stop, uh, or if you are doing something, man, dial it up, put your headphones in, and just really listen to this brother navigate the text and navigate it, what it is to be, to live intentional. So enjoy this replay.
Caleb, man, I want to welcome you on the show. Uh, just like I said, this topic is near and dear to my heart, man. And once again, I just truly appreciate you for jumping on today, man.
Absolutely no problem, Tim. I appreciate you for having me. It's a privilege and an honor, brother.
Awesome, awesome, man. Awesome, awesome. Well, guys, we do— I know that y'all been rocking with me. You all know that this is more of a faith-based show, but also too practical, keeping it very practical and simple when it comes to the gospel, but at the same time calling us to mature more and more in our faith. And so today, like I said, Caleb, within this episode, we're going to talk about Intentional Living. And kind of as we segue into one of the first things that I was just meditating on, John C. Maxwell is by far one of my favorite authors, a man of many books. Some people think he's redundant, but I do think repetition is a good thing, just like we study the Bible. But in John C. Maxwell, a few years ago, I came across a quote that— and Caleb, I'll read this and just let you unpack it. But John C. Maxwell said something that was very interesting to me that I also think that you can back it up with scripture, but I'll read. When you live each day with intentionality, there's almost no limit to what you can do. You can transform yourself, your family, your community, and your nation. When enough people do that, they can change the world. When you intentionally use your everyday life to bring about positive change in lives of others, you begin to live a life that matters. So, Caleb, I want to ask you first, man, How does this look in your life, especially considering the different areas God has called and graced you, uh, graced you for?
Yeah, I think this, um, that particular quote can be applied to pretty much every area of my life, um, with training and being a husband, a father, and a minister, um, because with anything that, that you do, if you're not intentional in, in doing it, you won't do it well. Um, that's what I personally believe. And so, you know, um, just speaking to, you know, my marriage with my wife, um, if I'm not intentional about, um, even when we have topics that we don't necessarily agree on or viewpoints that, that may have a little uneasiness to it, if I'm intentional about listening to her and then intentional about applying what it is that she has communicated to me, then I'll be more effective in, in, in, uh, making the change on my end, you know, not being necessarily concerned on her end, but being intentional about making a change. And so, um, and vice versa with my, with my training, um, I have to be intentional about what, what it is my client want and not necessarily having goals for them, but being intentional about listening to what they want and what they're seeking to do, along with providing my wisdom and my guidance with that. But, but being intentional about listening to what it is that they have to say, and that way we can better get to our goals together, um, both as a trainer and as a client, um, and that way we both have a commitment to the goal because on their end they understand and on my end I understand. And so, you know, if we be intentional, um, in every area of our life, then I, I think it'll yield better— no, I don't even think, I know it'll yield better results, right? I know it'll yield better results, but I think sometimes we just we go in it with, um, I, I, I dare to say this, with such a lack of faith, hoping more so than really believing with intention that, that we can do it.
That's good. Hoping rather than believing.
That's good.
That's good. Yeah. Yeah. So I like what you said there, speak, because, you know, because I'm married too, man, and my wife and I, uh, we'll be going on for 4 years, and, uh, I'm real big on it, man, real big on being intentional. With her. And one thing that we just— we've been looking at is Tim Ross. It's just— I don't know if you've heard of him, but based out of Irving, Texas, he's one of my favorite communicators of the gospel. And I tread lightly when I say that because I don't want people to take this and, you know, get caught up on personalities. But at the same time, just studying him, man. So my wife and I have been following this Upset the Vow series, that 9-part series that he did. And then him and his wife— what made it interesting is that he was preaching and teaching this 9-part series that the Lord put on his heart, and then after, him and his wife sat down to unpack the message. And so kind of having that, that woman's perspective as well. And you hit on some of the things that they said. And so for me, the reason why I said that about intentionality is that, uh, with me, I can be a very passionate person, which if not careful, it will lead over to me being very defensive. And things like that. And so early on, you know, my wife and I, when she would say things, especially when I know, like, I'm like, okay, I know what I'm doing, I, I know what I'm bringing to the table, I know I'm trying— this, this is in my mind— I, I, and when she would say things, uh, I— we will always do okay, then boom, it's like we right back at the same thing again with Tim, I'm trying to talk to you, Tim, I'm trying to talk to you. Then it started to fester in where my wife didn't really feel comfortable opening up to me because of the defensive uh, that's what I was going to show. And so all of that being said, uh, it— what I was doing is just on autopilot. I'm just like, ah, you know, I'm listening to a few messages and reading a few books, I'm praying here and there, but I'm not really— and so, and then now I'm putting the blame on God, saying, well, God, I'm reading my word, I'm, I'm praying to you. But it all came back to, well, Tim, you got to be intentional, you have to apply, you got— and even when you get it, you have to keep going and chipping away at it through the power of God. And it was that level of intentionality. I was like, okay, you know what, this is uncomfortable for me. This is my default setting, but, but I am more— I don't believe in the terms like, well, I just— oh, this is how I was raised, this is how I grew up, this is just me. So it was a very uncomfortable, uh, dialogue, a very just uncomfortable process on myself. And then eventually, through the power of Holy Spirit and a life of intentionality, uh, I can truly say today that's not my default setting anymore. I don't even— I can't even recognize that person anymore. Of just being defensive. And so, man, so I just want to say that because I really think it unpacks even more, just more so add on to, I believe, the point that you were making, right?
Right. And I mean, that's, that's very valid. And see, the thing is, is, is what you just did, that transparency is what's needed, you know what I mean? But oftentimes, I, I, I, you know, I hope you can, you can attest to this, um, but a lot of times in ministry, even when we minister, um, um, the reason why I think a lot of times with, with the generation that's coming up, and even with us as well, our generation, um, there, there's, there is a, a disconnect because of a lack of transparency. So, so I can't—
I—
if I, if I'm not intentional about sharing my flaws and my downfalls, then my, my blessings and my, my triumphs become bragging, you understand? It's often seen, it's often seen as bragging because you didn't tell me the pitfall that you fell into, you didn't tell me the trial, you didn't tell me So if I'm intentional about showing that I was flawed and I am flawed, then I can be intentional about sharing to you how God brought me out in the practical ways. Not just—
I must share with you scripture.
I have to.
Yeah, amen, amen.
Because that's what really got me through.
But I have to share with you the practical way of how I applied the scripture. And so if being intentional, even in the form of ministry, if I'm being intentional about not just sharing, uh, or portraying a perfect version of myself, but, but betraying or showing the, the flawed version of myself and being secure in who God says I am and what God has called me to do, then I can then be intentional about sharing the blessings of God and sharing, sharing the triumphs and the victory that God has brought to me through the word and through the applying the word. You know, and so I, man, I applaud you.
I applaud you.
I like, I listen to a lot of your podcasts and different things that you, that you've done. And it's the transparency that gets me.
I love the transparency, man. Man, man, do I praise God for it. And it's likewise. And that right there was so much substance. And honestly, man, you actually ministered to my spirit as you flowing. And that's what I love about the Beauty in God, man. Just God's people. You know, we have an intent to do one thing and here it is. That I truly believe you also ministering to me and my spirit, man. And so I love that, man. I definitely was making some notes as you was talking to just really unpack that and meditate on some of those things, uh, there, man. So I truly appreciate that, Kayla, because I— and I can attest to it, uh, just here on out. And like you said, I, I was telling my wife this recently, man, you know, God's been laying some things on our heart as we transition because of just the state of marriage. And, you know, we're a blended family. We, we had our first daughter together about 2 months ago, uh, but both of us started 1+1, uh, we were both married young in the name of religion and then divorced, you know. So it's like these things that we look at, like you say, uh, this— it's like in this day and age, you know, and, and I know, you know, people that's been tracking with this podcast, I'm pretty sure people following you, we are conditioned to always present a finished product. No flaws, no, no practical— it's just, this is what it is. This is— I just arrived here. And I believe when people look at that, they like, okay, like, what does that look like? Because I know, like, what does A— you know, you're showing me Z, but what did the middle look like, right? You know? And so, and it's like, and we can see this and we can back this up with scripture. We can go straight to the epistles with Paul, you know? And but Paul was confident and secure and who he was in Christ Jesus. And we can name many more. So, man, I truly appreciate that substance, man, uh, that you, that you dove in in there, uh, because it is a blessing. And it all comes down to, especially with ministry, man, and this is what I believe in my spirit, Caleb, is that, uh, people say, you know, people are running away, people are, are leaving the local churches and things like that. But I believe what you just said, like that level of balance with transparency and authenticity Uh, it's what's going to reach the next. That's what people want to see. They— for so long when I was coming up, like, I grew up in a local church, but for so long I used to think pastors was dang near just as close as to God and a perfect walk and stuff. And so when I started seeing things, I'm like, wait a minute, this not real.
These people—
but it was the, the way I was like just taught over the years, man. And then it wasn't until like, you know, my dad, the revelation, and a few others uh, when they came in, I'm like, wow, okay, this is the way that it truly was supposed to be taught, right? And lived out. And, and the most important thing, lived out and demonstrated with our lives more than we're just sitting up there teaching.
Absolutely.
So, man, I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Well, Caleb, man, it's kind of staying right there with just a slight twist. Uh, one, I think I learned this from Andy Stanley. It might have been Greg Croeschel, but something, and I literally had this written. I used to write this on my mirror all the time when my wife and I were on— I mean, not with my wife, but my first time around on our debt-free, on my debt-free journey. Then when I got married, I used to leave it in my phone when my wife and I were trying to become debt-free in a lot of different areas. And it was a simple quote: Direction, not intention, determines the destination. I'm going to say that again. Direction, not intention determines the destination. And just real quick for our listeners, I want to just quickly explain that this is not a contradiction to intentionality, because sometimes we have intentions, we want to be measured by intentions, but we're not doing what we truly needed. Kind of going back to what we were saying earlier is that I intended to communicate well with my wife, but it didn't always look like that because I didn't have the level of intentionality that backed it.. But when I had the level of intentionality, it moved from intention to intentionality. So just want to make that clear for our listeners that this is not a contradiction. But going back to you, putting it back on you, Caleb, I want to actually just kind of give me a little context from the Bible, if you don't mind, on how God has always been intentional and provided direction for his people.
Yeah, um, I, I look back, um, on the times like with Moses You know, I look back on that times where, where even, even when God didn't speak to the people directly, he gave them a beacon in Moses, right? Right. So he, so he, so, and not only did he give them a beacon, but he confirmed it with signs and wonders, right?
And that way they knew you couldn't doubt that God was with him.
Right?
But even, even, even in God being intentional with showing that I back this person, this is my man of God, this is my leader for this time, um, they still doubt it, right? And so God had to bring direction in the form of the law, right?
That's the book, right?
And, you know, I mean, we could, we could take time going all the way down through the scripture But if you know the story of Moses, it's pretty simple, right? He brought the people out of Egypt.
And even in— even the first sign and wonder, you know, uh, once they came out, they get to the sea, right?
And the Lord parts the sea, right, using Moses.
Okay, come on now.
If I'm standing there at that point in time, you ain't got to show me nothing else, you know what I mean?
Come on, come on.
I don't need to see nothing now, you know what I mean? But, but I understand because it's, um, I caught one of your—
I caught one of your topics, uh, on your podcast, podcast where you're talking about thirsty.
It's that same—
we take, we take that same thirsty mentality with God.
It's as if we, we make God prove himself over and over because, because that first, um, blessing or that first uh, answered prayer becomes forgotten if you don't have a level of appreciation.
And so I always think about— I take it back to the scripture.
Let's— if we go to Matthew chapter 6 and 33, Tim, this is, this is one I live my life on right here because it makes me conscious of where my mental state should be.
But it's, it's also a directive from the Father, you know.
And so I'll read this one.
This is Matthew 6 and 31. Let's start in 31. It says, so don't worry saying, what shall I eat or what shall I drink or what shall I wear?
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
He already knows our needs, right?
Verse 32 says— or verse 33 says, but seek ye first the kingdom and his righteousness. So seek, seek ye first the kingdom. Kingdom ways, kingdom thinking, kingdom processing, kingdom living, kingdom giving, kingdom loving, all that way. You seek ye first the kingdom in the right way of doing things, right? And all these things will be added. So I know that my directive is to seek ye first God and his will and his purpose for my life. And God is responsible— I dare say God is obligated— because that's Scripture. He said— he says that all these things will be added unto me. It's God's responsibility to then take care of my cares. He says, cast your cares on me because I care for you, right?
And so if I understand that, then in verse 34 I can do this: therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own. I have to understand that it is my directive to not worry. It is my directive to not have concern.
Because check this out, Tim, this is the wonderful thing, and this is why I keep my mind all the time.
If I have an intentional mindset of knowing that my troubles are God's concerns—
oh Jesus, oh my goodness—
if I, if I'm intentional about knowing that my troubles and my needs and my desires are God's responsibility, why? Because I'm, I'm intentional about seeking ye first the kingdom.
You understand?
So like, so if I'm, if I'm conscious, if I'm intentional about seeking the kingdom and doing my, my now purpose, not trying to get to the pulpit or the mic, but doing my purpose today, doing my purpose today and fulfilling what God says, my daily bread for today, then, then I'm intentional about keeping God's word and I'm intentional about seeking the kingdom. And therefore I don't have to worry about tomorrow. I don't have to worry about bills.
I don't worry—
I don't have to worry about protection because Jehovah Jireh is my provider.
If I'm truthful and I'm intentional and I believe that, right, then I, I can't be concerned about tomorrow.
It is a distrust and almost a disrespect to be concerned about your tomorrow when you have been intentional about the kingdom.
Oh my God. Oh my God, okay. Oh my God, man, that right there, man. I hope I didn't cut you off. That right there, brother. Oh my God, bro, that— see, man, we, we gotta connect for real. But man, no, see, you, you, you— and this is where iron sharpens iron, man, because— and this is why I say, and this is in my scriptures real quick— this is why I say we never can say that we are so familiar with the scriptures, because I have read that verse so many times, but the way God just used you to unpack that, bro, my God, my God, man. God is so— the thing is, bro, like, which— what you're saying to me, and, and this is kind of like— I'll share this with you real quick. So people that's been tracking with me know that my middle son now— I keep saying youngest because we have a little daughter now, but my middle son now is two-time cancer survivor. And, you know, before my wife and I got married, we got married in the midst of that. So just, we're trying to, you know, navigate this season of life where my wife now will be in Memphis for about 6, 7 months, you know. And I was remote, thank God, my job, you know. And then we have our oldest son at the time. And so we're going through this life, and Caleb, before that, you know, I was real big— and there's nothing wrong, I tell people, there's nothing wrong with, you know, planning and, you know, uh, being kingdom stewards, kingdom stewards of our finances, our health, and all of that. And so I was following Dave Ramsey stuff and here I am. But what started to take place is that I started to become my own provision. I was no longer looking for God. So the intentionality was more so like everything was pointing towards me. And when I went through this season of life, man, I just start so much that I couldn't control, like with this medical, this medical, I had to do this, this, this, and this, that, this. And just it seemed like all hell started to break loose. But what it really taught me and what God was doing, that's why now when I'm— whatever season I'm in in life, I'm like, listen, I know that I'm doing what God told me to do through the power of the Holy Spirit. The lesson in there somewhere. The lesson is in there somewhere. And in this time, and he was stripping me of everything that I had basically had my mind or the areas that I was intentional that I should have never been. And so that intentionality started to focus more on being like seeking the kingdom of God, truly seeking the kingdom of God. And I can say today, man, what you're saying in that mindset where you're at is there. My wife, anytime— like when COVID hit and people were getting laid off left and right, and my wife, you know, then my wife tell me she's pregnant, Caleb, I honestly, God, man, it was not saying— I'm, I'm human too. Now my humanity did try to rise up, you know, and be like, but no, no, no. And as you was talking, the Lord was even speaking to me. It was like saying, this is also to where we have to be intentional about taking captive every thought and making it obedient. And so when I sat down there on the stairs, it was like, no, no, no. I'm like, God, I know. Start reminding God of his word and quoting the scriptures back to him. Not that he doesn't know, but all through scriptures, when, when God would speak, it was never revealing to himself, it was for the person. And so all of that to be said, it's like, okay, God, This is where I'm at. This is how I feel. I'm going to be transparent with you because you already know this is for me. This is where I stand. I'm not worried about nothing else because if I do, man, I will lose my mind. And I can truly say, man, through that, through those seasons, okay, it taught me. It taught me. And I'm to the point now where I'm saying it is illogical to doubt God. It is illogical not to trust him, right? So, so I agree with you, bro, and I truly appreciate you for that, man.
Yeah, and I— and you know what, even, even as you were saying that, you know, it reminded me of scripture over in Isaiah, um, chapter 40, um, verse 29. And, and that says he gives, he gives power to the weak, and those who have, have no might, he increases strength.
Look, check this out.
In verse 30, it says, even the youth shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fail. But listen to this, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
The ones who are intentional and believe that I know God is going to come through. I don't see how he gonna do it. I, I don't, I don't, I don't see how I'm gonna communicate this. I don't see how we're gonna work this through, but I'm gonna— I know what I'm gonna be sure to do. I'ma wait on God because God, like Moses said, Lord, if you don't go before me, if your presence don't go with me, then I'm not going. Oh my God, I'm not moving because I have to be intentional about being in step, not before you. If I go before you, then the breaker cannot go before me. You see what I'm saying? And I need the breaker to go before me to break up barriers and obstacles and yokes and burdens. That way I can do this. In verse 31, it said, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their See, I'll use my strength going before God.
Wow.
I burn myself out. I burn myself out going before God and not allowing the breaker to go before me. So when I'm in, in step as I walk with Jesus, then now the breaker can go before me and he can tear down all those obstacles and barriers. And now my strength will be renewed. And, and we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength. So I know I have joy in even tumultuous moments, even in moments of trial, and even in moments that may look bleak. Folks will be looking at you like you crazy because you smiling, you have joy, you have strength, your family looks well, you know. I mean, but they don't know what's going on. They have no clue. You see what I'm saying? Yes, man. And so, man, I truly believe it.
Hey bro, and what, like, that's all I can say.
What, man?
Like, I'm telling you. And, and, but it's like I say all the time, and this is why I tell people when it comes to God, I tell people this all the time. And because I used to just say it, but now, as my dad always say, now I believe through the power of God I'm one with it. Yeah, either he's God or he not, right? It's just like, it's no gray area. Either he's God, he's not. Either he's gonna do what he said he gonna do or he's not. Now, I don't know, like you said, I don't know what that's all always going to look like in the context of my life and when he pairs scripture with our life. But at the end of the day, either he's God or he's not. And that's where I told my wife, that's where I'm at. That's a non-negotiable for me. As people like to say, that's non-negotiable. And so, bro, and the thing is, one of the biggest takeaways for me, a lot of them a lot of them, it's what you talked about with— it's basically, it is disrespectful.
Yeah.
To not truly believe in the promises of God. It's— that's the one of the biggest takeaways for me, uh, man. So I'm gonna— as I'm cleaning this up, Caleb, man, just in all honesty with you, as I'm cleaning this up, this is gonna be one I'm gonna meditate on, but I'm gonna do my best to get this out by Monday, man, because this right here, bro, I thank God for you, bro. Thank God for you. I thank God for your obedience, man, because it— when I was just watching you, and, and I follow people for a while, and this is— I just want to share this one last thing, man. Never hesitate to reach out, people. Never. You, you never know who God is speaking to and why God— when God puts something on your heart, do it. Because honestly, Caleb, I was like, Man, he seemed like he busy, you know. Here go this voice. Now I know I'm praying like, God, I'm looking for certain guests. I don't want to just go out and just try to get— God's like, direct me. And as you was like just in the top of my news feed, got him. I'm like, I don't even know me like him. And so this is what obedience does, man, because this really blessed me. And I don't take no credit, man, it's just a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. And so, man, Kayla, with that being said, that's one of my big key takeaways. Of course I have a lot of other ones, but I want to, uh, turn it over back to you, man, to give 1 to 3 that, uh, just for the guests or the people that's listening, just as a recap, man, like 3— 1 to 3 things of what you really feel like they should have took away from this.
Yeah, um, I would say, you know, the biggest thing is, is, is to understand first, first and foremost, um, as both me and you were talking um, is, is that there has to be a level of relationship, um, for you to even be intentional, you know. So those are— those are— those of you who are, are listening and may not have, um, a relationship, or you want to know, uh, what it is we're talking about, or who we're talking about— who is this Jesus, you know? Who, who is that, you know what I mean? Then I encourage you, I encourage you— and this is why your local church is great. This is why, you know, um, you know, there's a necessity for your local church and a necessity for, um, pastoral this, right? Um, I encourage you to, to, to, to first come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Um, and that way you have the Spirit of God on the inside of you. Um, and then, you know, now the relationship can begin. And as the relationship begins, then you can be intentional towards that relationship, be intentional of, of your prayer life, which is number 2. You have to, have to, have to have a prayer life, and not a religious prayer life. Oh, I can go into that. So much, but I'm not. But, but not a religious— I mean, talk to God as if you talk to your wife, your husband, your best friend, whatever the case may be. Communicate with God because he already knows. He just wants you to communicate it. And once you communicate it, I, I implore you to take time to be quiet in your prayer life, to be quiet. Give, give God the chance to respond. Give God the chance to speak to you. Give God the chance to communicate because that's a part of your covenant. That's a part of the New Covenant, is that now we can go to the throne of grace and commune with God, you know. And, and that's, that's part number 2. Make sure that your prayer life is intact. And then after that prayer life is intact, after you get confirmation through the word of what God told you in your prayer life, then I implore you to apply it. Have faith in what you heard. And apply, be intentional about the application of the word of God, the logos word, the word of God, and also the rhema, the promises of God which he's given to you in your prayer life. Okay, and so I would say be intentional about pursuing a relationship if you haven't already, but if you have already, maintaining the relationship, maintaining your bars, as I use for Wi-Fi You know, maintaining your bars, making sure your bars at 5G all the time within your relationship, but also maintaining a prayer time, a line of communication daily to where you can hear the word of God or you can hear the voice of God. And then once you hear the voice of God and you've prayed, then get up and apply the word of God, being intentional about applying that. And that's intentional living, because when we intentionally live according to our understanding, that's faulty. We have to live according to the will of God for our lives, and then all our prayers is yes and amen, you know. And so I— that's, that's what I would say my— the 3 takeaways would be is, is those 3 there.
I know, amen, man. They— I love them, I love them, man. And I'm— because like, once again, I'm jotting them down myself, uh, man. I just thank God for you. And I'll just say everything that he's saying, I can tell you right now in this season, I was just you know, just level of transparency, transparency moment, uh, with a newborn. My job let me off for 6 weeks, uh, just, you know, for family leave. And, you know, kids— I, I know I'm coaching my middle son. My oldest, he's playing, uh, he's actually playing for the school now, school coach, uh, and so their basketball season is aggressive. I work a very demanding job, ministry obligations, associate pastor. Uh, you know, and things like this. And I'm not saying that to boast in any means, it's just like, it's Caleb, as we was giving his bio. So father of 3 kids, most important, like God, husband, father, 3 kids. So all of this stuff. But what I'm basically saying, Caleb, in the 3 things that you just said, I'm having to do those not just like you said, not in the name of just routine and religion, but it's an ongoing heart posture of just doing those things. Through the power of God. Because this right here, to see it with a newborn, man, I know you've been there before. In the midst of all of this was going on, I told my wife, like, it's, it's no way we should be walking around with this level of peace and joy but God. But God. And primarily those three things that you just said. It's the consent. Sometimes my daughter wake me up at 3, I could be mad because I'm like, man, I got to be online at 6:37. You know, to get ready for 8. But you know what, God, this is a season, it's a community. You know what, God, let me talk to you. And I can rest assured you, although this body is a quickening, man, because God knows, he knows. And so it's just a heart posture of communing. And then like you say, the application, that is one of the biggest things. And my grandma, that's my late grandma, man, she would always say, Tim No matter what. She said, I know you have a desire. She said, I believe God called you. Teach all— everything that you're doing, baby, live it, right?
Live it.
So, so, man, I, I— bro, once again, I appreciate you, man. This was awesome. Uh, Caleb, man, just if, uh, for people that might want to connect with you, I know, like I said, we mentioned Let's Talk with the CB, which is a vlog on YouTube and Facebook, and for people that follow me, I've shared it on top of my page, I've shared it on my Instagram, as well as I make sure to put it on the website that different people track to, man, just to, just to promote that. Because I feel like, uh, people, you all should really plug into it. But, uh, in addition to that, man, Caleb, is it, uh, if people want to reach you, man, how, just how would they, uh, you prefer them to get in contact with you and just touch bases with you?
I, I would say, um, if, if, if you are on Facebook, um, I would say Facebook is, is the best, best place to reach me. And I have a personal page which is Caleb Brown on Facebook, but as well as that, I have a ministry page which is Caleb Brown Ministries, and I, and I post a lot of my Let's Talk stuff and different things to that. And it has the link to my, my YouTube, which is Let's Talk with CB on YouTube. And so it'll send you to pretty much everything that, that that we have going on, um, and that'll be the easiest avenue to, um, to get in touch with me. Um, instant message me, man. I, I, I try to be— here we go— I try to be intentional about responding and, and, uh, you know, and making sure that I, I make myself available, because if you're not available, you can't, can't affect change. So I try to make sure that I, I'm available in that way. So Facebook and, um, in our page, which is Caleb Brown Ministries, uh, it'll, it'll get you, get you connected with us.
Awesome, awesome. Well, people, I once again, I hope you've enjoyed this. This has really blessed me. I'm like, I don't really call myself churchy, but I almost felt like I was in service when Caleb was going in and talking, uh, but man, once again, bro, I appreciate you. I look for many more of these, man. I do believe that God has called me to this space. Uh, like I said, I tell people all the time, I don't too much care about a microphone, if people call me or not, man. I just want to please God, whether it touch one or it touch thousands. I just want to be intentional about pleasing God. And so, uh, man, I just pray, you know, many blessings over you all, Life, man, the ministry, and, uh, and just the people that's rocking with the Student of Life podcast. And just shout out to people just doing the will of God, man, in general. Uh, man, I just pray that you all— this ignites you, it just encourages you to keep going. And most importantly, man, share, share. Not for us to get glory, but share, man, because it's all about God, it's all about Jesus. Uh, and so Caleb, man, uh, once again, bro, thank you so much for being on here, man, and I look forward to doing many more with you.
Yes, sir, it's a privilege.
