In this vlog-style video, Victoria S. Dorsano walks viewers through her go‑to post‑workout protein shake, explaining the macronutrient balance she aims for—protein, carbs, and fats—to curb hunger and support weight‑loss goals. She details why she prefers a plant‑based protein powder (Orgain) over whey, emphasizing the importance of third‑party testing because supplements are not FDA‑regulated. Victoria mixes two scoops of Orgain protein with a banana, a splash of Ripple pea milk, and filtered water, optionally adding avocado for extra fat. She highlights the nutritional profile of each ingredient (e.g., 21 g protein per serving, 8 g protein in Ripple milk, 4.5 g fat) and shares practical tips like choosing unsweetened vanilla pea milk and adjusting consistency. Throughout, she maintains an informal, enthusiastic tone, mentions her Berkey water filter, and adds a light personal moment about her stuffed “Little Buck” figurine. The video serves both as a recipe demonstration and a brief education on supplement credibility and plant‑based nutrition for post‑exercise recovery.

Hey everyone, so I just got back from the gym with Christopher. Say hi, Chris! Hey! So I'm gonna show you guys what I like to make when I get back from a workout. So I'm gonna prop you guys down right here. So I love to try to get— you'll see some protein powders up there— try to get some protein in, number one, some carbs and some fats, getting a good blend of those macronutrients. And macronutrients basically are those those larger components of food that make up the calories in food, right? So we've heard about macros. So fats, carbs, proteins. I like to get a good blend of those things. Those really help to crush hunger and make sure you stay full for a longer time. So I'm gonna grab my protein powder. I love this protein powder brand. I have vetted through so many different protein powders in my past because I always look for something that has a good kind of a reputable brand, number one, because you want to make sure— again, the supplement industry isn't super regulated. I've personally looked into Orgain. I like their products. I like what they're about. And I've gone to several third-party websites that have tested Orgain to make sure that their label claims are accurate, because a lot of people don't know this, any kind of like protein supplement or any supplement really that is marketed as a supplement isn't regulated by the FDA, so they can basically like completely lie on these labels, which is scary, which is why you wanna go for companies that have a reputable business, that have a reputable brand, and that have been third-party tested where you can actually read and see their results online. So this one is one of those that I found had third-party tests done. What I like about this is it has 21 grams of plant-based protein, and for me, I personally pick plant-based protein 'cause my body does not do well with dairy. So I like to pick this because it digests a lot easier for me. Any kind of whey protein. Whey is a protein that's kind of derived from milk products, so it doesn't do well in my stomach at all. A lot of people say, "Hey, whey makes me bloated." So when they say that, I suggest a plant-based protein. This is a great one. It has a blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, and chia seed. It has peanut butter flour in it too, so you can get another flavor that doesn't have peanut butter if you're allergic. But this is my all-time favorite. So I'm gonna go ahead and make that. I like to blend the 2 scoops of this in with a banana to get a little bit more carbs along with this protein. And then I will mix that with Ripple pea milk. And yes, that is my plant-based choice, milk of choice is pea milk. And a lot of people are like, what's that? I absolutely love it. Ripple is kind of the main brand out there for pea milk. And I choose it because it's higher in protein than other plant-based milks. You can get almond milk, you can get oat milk, but pea milk generally has a higher amount of protein in it and it's a little bit thicker. So I actually water mine down a little bit because I don't like to like use a spoon with my smoothies or shakes, you know, like I like it a good consistency that's not too hard to swallow or too hard to drink down. So I'm gonna go ahead and make that. So here we go, guys. All right, so we got our 2 scoops Orgain protein powder, my fave. It smells so good. It smells like, like a peanut butter pie when you open it. It's delicious. So I put this guy in there in my shaker. Scoop 1, scoop 2. I don't know about you guys, but consistency is a big thing for me in protein shakes, especially plant-based ones. I've tried at least 10 different brands, and this is one that blends really smooth. It's not gritty. I promise I'm not getting paid by Orgain. This is not an ad by any means, but I just really am a fan of their protein powder. Haven't gotten tired of it yet. So then I'm gonna go ahead and add a banana in there. And again, banana I add for a little bit of sweetness, but also extra carbs, texture a little bit too. And then I will go ahead and add just a little bit of water. I'm going to bring it over to my Berkey filter. I'm sure I'll tell you guys about my Berkey in future shoots, but there's my Berkey. Love it. It basically filters through your tap water and makes sure that, um, you're not getting any kind of contaminants in there. So I'll do a little bit of Berkey water, probably a little bit more, and then I'm going to add my Ripple protein milk. So 8 grams of protein per serving, so really delicious. I get the unsweetened vanilla because don't need that extra sugar in the morning. I always say, hey, if you're gonna get a plant-based milk, try to get unsweetened. But I like that vanilla kind of flavor to it, so that's why I get the unsweetened vanilla. I will fill this guy up the rest of the way. We are so close. I'll probably need to open another bottle of that. So this is like super simple, nothing fancy. I'm not throwing any kind of greens in here. I'm not doing like, like a crazy veggie smoothie. This is just a basic protein shake after working out, getting my carbs, proteins, and fats. And the fats, you might be wondering where are those coming from? Well, the Ripple pea protein milk has it, has about 4.5 grams of fat in there. Sometimes I'll add like a slice of avocado in here too. Just depends on what I'm feeling for the day. So I'm gonna go ahead and shake this up. So shake is blending. This is how loud my blender is. Alright, so this is done blending in my blender. Let's get this top off here. Bam, bam. All right, so shake is all done. So good, always my favorite. Oh hey, you can see my, um, this is called Little Buck. He's our coffee drinking— we have this debate whether it's a beaver or a squirrel. Um, so let me know what you guys think. Take a look. I know his tail kind of looks beaverish, but it could be like a tucked back squirrel tail too. I don't know, babe, what do you think Little Buck is? Beaver. I'm not sure. That doesn't look like a beaver face to me, right? It looks like a real fluffy squirrel, but who knows. Anyways, just wanted to show you guys what I do after I work out and what my favorite protein powder is and all that stuff. I get that question a lot about protein powders. What are some good ones? You know, why do you drink this particular one? So hopefully that answered those questions for you guys, and I'm sure I'll see you soon.
