As somebody who has lost their dad to alcohol, Sober October always brings up a lot of complex emotions and just a lot of thoughts around my personal relationship and journey with alcohol. Some people drink socially, some people abstain completely, some people like to participate in these challenges like Sober October, and the reason behind doing them all means different things to us. So I'm curious, for those of you guys that are participating in Sober October, what are some of the reasons behind it for you? What are the things that you're hoping to discover in this process, if anything? Or if you're not participating in Sober October, I'm curious about if and how your relationship with alcohol has evolved over time. I guess I'm really posting this to open a conversation around sharing our relationship with alcohol. Personally, there was a time for me where I felt like it was a little out of control for myself. Thankfully, I'm not in that situation anymore, but I feel like the more we can open up and share where we're at in our journey of our relationship to drinking and alcohol, the more easily we can get support from our community around us if that's needed.
