A short YouTube video (short) where Vince Reed tells Mike about being camera shy early in his business—he avoided showing his face for a year or two and used slides instead. A viewer messaged that he couldn't trust Vince because he never showed himself, which prompted Vince to start recording himself (initially with a flip cam). The clip advises people hesitant to make videos to practice by starting small.
Did you know, Mike, that for the first year in business, I never showed my face? I would just, like, show, like, keynote slides. I'd write and I'd talk. No one ever saw me.
Really for the first year.
The first, like, probably maybe a couple years, no one saw me. And then this guy. So when did.
You start showing your face?
A guy messaged me one time. He's like, man, I love your stuff, but because you don't never show you. You never show yourself. Like, I don't trust you. He's like, you're like the guy from Home Improvement. The guy that, like, looked over the fence. Oh, you never saw his face. Yeah, he's like, that's what you like. So I can't buy from you. Yeah, yeah. So, you know, afterwards I got off that, like, well, maybe I should show my face. And that's when I got my first. It was like a flip cam back then, these little flips. It was before, like, you had good cameras, high tech camera and everything. Yeah, yeah. So just thought I'd throw that out there. So I just wanted to revert back. So you guys know, you know, if you've never made videos. Just a little practice.
