Vince Reed critiques the common practice of "funnel hacking"—copying another marketer's sales funnel and assuming it will produce the same results. He argues that funnels only "work" if the original creator achieved specific outcomes (e.g., substantial revenue) and that failures by copiers are often due to human error or misunderstood components, not the funnel itself.

And this is the problem with funnel hacking. Like, everybody funnel just copies everybody's funnel, and they go, oh, it worked or it didn't work. That's not why it worked or didn't work. A funnel works if it worked for someone else. Like, meaning if they made a hundred. If somebody else made a hundred thousand dollars a month doing that, it worked. Right? If you didn't make. If you do it and it didn't make a hundred thousand, that's because you do something like human error. There's all these different components that people that go try to do that don't understand. So when they go try to do that and they don't make money, they think it's the price, they think it's the. Okay, they think the funnel didn't work. They weren't doing the funnel.
