Vince Reed recounts an anecdote about promoting an author (Russell) during a book tour that used live streams hosted by promoters' business pages. He explains a mentor-taught rule—"be first"—and describes using that strategy to secure the first live with the author so his audience would see it before others, then promoting the dual livestream across his growing community and company to drive book sales and boost his ranking.

Now, shortly thereafter, Russell reached out, and he said he was gonna go on kind of like a book tour, but he was gonna do it differently. He was going to essentially go live with people that were promoting the book from their business page. So I remembered, you know, a rule that my mentor taught me, the same rule that helped him win my affiliate launch was to be first. Well, and that what I mean by being first was try to get Russell onto, you know, my life first. Because I knew if I was, like, the 15th person that he was going live with, everyone would have probably already bought the book. And another way that I was gonna launch myself and catapult myself into the top 10 was to figure out a way to share this information with my, you know, steadily growing community and company. So what I did was simultaneously, by promoting this dual, kind of like, livestream, I was able to promote this event to the entire system, which was growing, you know, rather rapidly.
