Vince Reed says speakers should give one immediately actionable tip that lets someone in the audience actually make money or get results from the talk. State the problem, solve it on stage, then pitch your follow-on offer. Skip the high-level hype.

If someone is going to speak on stage for the first time and they're going to sell from stage, how do they prep themselves? So what I always do to this day is my goal is that I want to deliver information that the person can make them make money immediately. Because I tell everyone that goes to an event that you just need to get one thing, one piece of information can change the whole trajectory of your whole business and life. I want to be that speaker. I want them to remember my talk. I make sure that I give useful information that they can use right then, something that they can execute and get results. So that was my main focus. I knew that if I could get someone to get results from whatever I was sharing on stage, that clearly they would want whatever it was that I was offering. So I would tell someone that as well. So some people speak from stage and it's a lot of high level things where it's big picture and they'll really exaggerate problems and they'll say, buy my thing and I'll fix it. So what I try to do is tell them the problem from stage, solve the problem from stage, and then the awkward beaters, several other ways to solve this problem. I can teach you those as well.
