The AI Impact: Get In Front Of This Billion Dollar Industry | The DM Recap #12

Vince Reed and Mike discuss AI adoption for marketing teams, VSL best practices, and Eboov's encrypted video platform. They recommend testing AI internally before scaling, aligning ad messaging with proof points, and using case studies in video sales letters.

Stevie Wonder can see AI is going to have an impact, right? I mean, clearly it's going to have an impact.
Yeah.
I mean, but Stevie Wonder could see that digital marketing would have an impact, and still people don't see it. You have to practice what you preach. You know, I think today people really just care about the result.
What's up, everybody? Welcome to the DM recap show here with our main man, Mr. Vince Reed.
What up?
I see you got some new kicks there. Yeah, you know, looking fresh.
Trying to. Trying to, you know, got to spice it up. New season, that.
That jump, man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, Jumpman accent.
Probably the first time I saw you wear, like, white shoes.
Yeah, you know, I changed it up a bit.
I change it up. How you feel today?
I'm good, I'm good. I just made Mike just laugh like he was standing at a Chris Rock comedy show.
This guy thinks he's a comedian.
Yeah. I had him dying over here. I wish you guys would have caught that.
Was pretty funny, though.
Yeah. But what I was saying can never be aired.
No, no.
Yeah. I would get canceled.
It's only.
I'd be canceled.
Bleep, bleep, bleep. Yeah. So we're going to pretty much talk about things that happened in the past week or so. What's happening here in the office. Previously, this show was all about recap being a recap for the DM episodes. But we wanted to open it up because we've been getting a lot more questions from, you know, people in the DMs about marketing in general. And we kind of wanted to give you an update on what's going on with our company Eboove and other shows like Ad Roulette. But first, we're going to start with the DM the previous episode. So. So you talked about heading into that, I guess we'll call it like a treasure chest of digital marketing relics.
Yes. The secret weapon. The secret weapon was introduced this season.
How was that walking into that?
It was cool, man. I had just never seen anybody with so much marketing content in one place in my life. So it was definitely like Christmas.
Did you return them?
Some of it. I still have some of that. He actually just started coming over and stealing it back slowly. Stealing. He's like, I'm still for myself. But it was cool.
But it worked out. I mean, that was a lot of, like, stuff.
A lot of good stuff.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Geez. So then after that, you get called to star in a movie.
I wouldn't say star I was in the movie. I guess technically you are a star if you're one of the featured people. Okay, I'll take it. I'll take it. Yeah.
How was that? You didn't believe him at first.
What's that?
When they called you, you didn't believe it.
I thought, I mean, even right now, like you get these people in the DMs, like asking you stuff, but then they always have a pitch, they want some money. So I was just waiting for the, you know, to be in this film, you have to wire $6,000 to, you know, some bank account.
Yeah, those same people are asking for Mike's only fans.
Yeah, exactly. And they're getting into. Mike is. He is. No shame he's letting them in.
I'm not going to confirm or deny that. It's up to you to find it. Yeah, but I don't have one. Maybe in the future, I don't know.
Hey, always keep your options open, Mike.
Exactly. Especially in today's economy.
So we want to also talk about what's going on with Eboov.
Man, Eboov is, first of all, what is Eboov? Yeah, so, yeah, we don't really talk about Eboov a lot. So Eboov stands for entrepreneur, business owner, Online video. It's a SaaS company that I launched and it's been a roller coaster of a journey. But we feel like we're changing the game and we're really excited about it. We've got some new technology that we're about to drop here any day. And it's been really fun using this whole like smokescreen of a message. When people find out what our real intent was, it'll be really cool. Yeah, well, okay, so can you, can.
You give them one feature?
Ibc. Okay, so long story short, eboov is a video hosting platform that encrypts all the videos. So if you're using any video platform, you can't, you can pretty much illegally download and steal most of those videos that you're hosting with other platforms. You can't do that with ours. But we also built this technology that allows you to capture leads and sell your product right from the video with what we've kind of coined as in video conversions. So this technology allows you to like create an opt in form that extends from the video or create a sales form that extends from the video. A person can opt in or buy fire from the video. Anyhow, we've been using it to drive traffic to webinars and VSLs and it's increased our opt in percentages anywhere from 40 to 60%. And the standard opt in performance you'll see is typically 20%. So we're seeing like 200% on average return on just lead flow. So we've used that message as we've been building the real technology as like the thing. So people think that's the thing with eboov, but it's just really one of the things.
Yeah, yeah, one of the.
Yeah, the main thing is something we're about to release. So I'm excited to kind of do the curve ball and people will be blown away, especially if you haven't got it yet. How far out is it that I'm using it now? Yeah, I'm already testing it and using it. So we're probably, probably by the time people see this, it'll either be released or just weeks away from our users being able to access it, which is just not going to be fair.
It's going to be nice, real nice. Especially for in the marketing space and not even the marketing space, just anyone that uses video.
Yeah, really. But we'll save that for the next. We'll talk more details when it's out.
Yeah, once it's launched. Once it's launched, we'll talk about that.
But I will say check out eboo. Especially if you are selling any products online and using video, you'll be happy you did.
Yeah, yeah. Game changer.
Yeah, sure.
So what's one of the biggest problems that you see right now when, when it comes to just marketing?
Typically tracking is really a big deal. Attention, being able to get people's attention. I mean, every app with short form content, it's making it tough for you to stand out. So a lot of people are just saying, hey, let me just double down and produce more content and more noise. Which is good in a sense if you've got good content. But because so many people are creating more noise and more content, it's kind of like drowning out the market, making it harder for your message to really get out there. Which again is why the whole EBOO movement is just a game changer.
Yeah. So what is like some tips people can do to kind of like stand out with their marketing?
I think really you have to practice what you preach. You know, I think today people really just care about the results. Right. So what you see a lot online are people like, if you're probably, if you're seeing this clip, it's me telling you how things should be. Right. It's a lot of that. It's different from me showing you, hey, these are the campaigns we created. Here's the results we got. And I can show you how to do these exact results. Right? So once you have the results behind you, then you position yourself to be able to kind of share tips and strategies. So I think a lot of people, to answer your question, are struggling because they're sharing all the tips and they have no bang for their buck, nothing. No one can even find anything they've done, you know, of any type of result or success to make what they're saying seem valuable. So I think that if you can start to show your results, then I think people take what you're saying a little bit more seriously.
Got it, Got it. Okay, so I'm going to check right here. I saved a couple questions I asked.
What are you, how are you gonna just come in here with unprepared questions?
That's what I'm gonna do.
It's a setup, y'. All.
He doesn't know what's coming. Don't worry.
I need to call my lawyer.
This is still, this is still under the digital marketing umbrella. So, you know, it's your specialty.
All right, let's do it.
All right. Okay. So we asked a couple questions on your Instagram.
Okay.
And people sent in a couple stood out to us.
Before you get to this, I actually thought nobody replied because I didn't, I saw it, but I didn't really see was it. I didn't keep checking. I saw when you posted something about questions and I'm like, damn, can't even get one question back. It's like social media that bad? Well, so you will get the question. Okay.
We screenshot them and just to make sure that, you know, we don't miss them. Okay, but one of them here, how do you set up or how do you determine a good VSL from not so good vsl? I'm paraphrasing, but that's what it says.
That's loaded. But for the purposes of keeping this kinda direct. Right. So there's two ways, right? So number one, a good vsl, it actually starts before they land on the vsl.
Well, first of all, what is a vsl? What does it stand for?
A VSL stands for Video Sales Letter. So back in the day when marketers would write sales letters, they. It'd be like a one page sales letter and it'd be super long and they would get this one page in front of a large amount of audiences and people would read to the bottom and purchase. So a video sales Letter is basically that in video form, right? So you're selling a product directly from a video. So that's what it is. So I would say what determines a good VSL is what happens before they land on the video sales letter. And I think this is where people go wrong. They create the video sales letter, but the messaging that happened before they got.
There, it doesn't match mean like on the ads.
Right. So I'll give you an example. On ad Roulette episode, yeah. There was a person that was talking about a webinar script that they've used to make like $5 million, something like that.
Okay.
Yeah, right. And that was the ad. But when you landed on the page, it wasn't necessarily a video sales letter. It was, they were just trying to get the person to buy. But the page said automated system. It wasn't get my automated system. It didn't say like the ad, learn my webinar script. That made me 5 million. The page said something about like get my million dollar automated system. That little like differentiating factor will determine how well the VSL is. So if the VSL would have started talking about some automated system, but not a webinar system that has helped that person make 5 million. But that little disconnect will affect the VSL.
So meet them where they're at.
So you have to capture what's going on inside the prospect's mind. Number one. So whatever you're saying on the front end, it needs to match what's happening on the back end with the video or the page that they land on. So that's number one. And then in terms of the vsl, I think today because of the attention span of people, you know, it has to be providing a legitimate solution to the problem. Right. A lot of these, the video sales editors, you see, they're kind of based on a webinar script that starts off with an attention grabber and then like this story, story about who you are trying to connect. And I think in today's day and age it needs to get right into problem solution, problem solution. And when I'm creating them, what I'm trying to do is prove the, prove the problem to be true and then basically showing them the solution to fix it. So like for example, you state the problem, prove that problem to be true. Right. So let me give you a legitimate real life example. Ad costs are going up, right? That on most platforms you're going to pay low in a dollar, in some cases as much as three, four or five dollars. I mean depending on the keyword. Right. I can. If I said that, that'd be one thing. But if I said that and then backed it up with a document and proof over the years showing exactly that, how the cost has gone up, that'd be an example of, of showing you the problem and proving it to be true. And then I would go above and beyond and how to fix it, showing examples of different marketers that were paying that or getting charged that and how they overcame that with legitimate examples of how to like, you know, counteract that or lower the cost or whatever it may be.
So backing up with like case studies or proof, things like that.
So yeah, so a good VSL does that. It identifies the problem, proves the problem to be true, and then like puts that problem in a, in a pickle to where it's like, hey, you can continue to have these problems or you can implement these proven fixes to. To fix it.
Got it. Okay.
Those are the good VSLs. The other ones don't do any of that. It's more like, here are the problems. If you buy this thing, I'll show you inside how it works. And it's just a bunch of like, nothing. No, no real value there. No real substance that makes sense. Can't really. You don't really know if the problem is true or not. Yeah. So it's just that that would be the number one thing.
Okay, cool.
Amongst a million others.
But yeah, but at least that kind of like. Yes. States how a great VSO is going to be. So now let's move over to kind of like some current events. What's going on in the space? Obviously the Garcia, you know, Davis fight is coming up.
I'm a big boxing fan. Yeah. As you guys probably see in some of the intros and all that. Yeah. I'm so excited about that fight. How do you think, how do you think they're marketing it though, this week?
How do you think they're marketing it, though?
First off, I think that they are doing a poor job.
A poor job?
Yes. I think it's gonna do well, but I mean, I think that they could have done a lot better.
How so?
Well, what's one thing they could have done?
I mean, they just. Today, in terms of when we're making this, it's Friday, it's the fight's tomorrow. They had. I know they're having some more stuff today. I just feel like the buildup, like, hasn't been as great as.
It's not like the Floyd buildup.
Yeah. Like, I mean, I think that the all access. Yeah. I mean, they had all access or they did.
They.
Yeah, they. They were decent, but there's not a legitimate, like, feud.
Yeah.
Like, I mean, there's not a. There's not a. Like, I think they could have just built it up more, like, for example.
Show a little bit more animosity.
Well, what Floyd did. Well, and this is just my perception of marketing, was he always would pin countries against countries. So, like, he would fight on Cinco de Mayo. Right, right. And I always wear the sombrero, and I always would put my event right before he would wear the sombrero. He'd, like, create this, like, weird tension. Yeah, right. And, like, it would. You know, if you can get two countries behind a fight, that's going to improve numbers. Right. I don't think they did that well in this fight. Right. Where they had the perfect lineup to do something like that. The guys don't like each other, the two fighters, but they're still playing nice, I think.
Yeah.
Like, I feel like with Floyd, he always was like, if you're going to play the nice guy, I'm going to make myself the villain. If you're going to try to be the nice. The villain, and I'm gonna make myself the nice guy. Clearly, like. And there's. They both just kind of this. There. Yeah, that's just my perception of it.
But that makes sense, though. I. I can see how they kind of had. They had chances to push it out a little bit more.
Yeah, I mean, I'm sure they are. I mean, I'm sure I don't see everything they're doing, but I'm just talking about the overall, like, you know, like, I don't believe that the. You took the boxing public, Right. And you asked them who they thought was gonna win. I don't think that, like, they're trying. Like, some people would try to say it's a 50, 50 fight, but I guarantee, if you were to ask, like, the pros or people that really understand boxing, they'd all probably pick Tank.
Yeah.
I think that the way to build a fight was you. If that's the case, you would have had to make everybody believe that Ryan could win because he's an underdog. Like, they would have to, like. And Floyd would do that in every fight. Like, by the end, you actually thought the guy had a chance. Even the worst guys that he was fighting, you'd be like, man, maybe this guy can win. I don't really feel that right now. I could be wrong. I think Ryan's good But I don't feel like they built him up to be like this guy could actually beat him.
Right, that makes sense. So it's just how you position it. Okay, cool. So I know you want to talk about AI because that was, that was another topic.
I want to talk about something genius that my boy Billy did.
Yeah, yeah. Talk about that.
Changed his entire company to Billie Jean. Is AI marketing.
Oh, yeah. Aix are something like. Yeah, yeah, marketing.
Like, how dope is that to be?
That's pretty cool.
Like, that's the thing with business too, man. Just being.
And he talked about that in like the, the last Mastermind in eboof. He was one of the speakers there.
Yeah. So we have these like people. This is another thing we don't really talk about. But yeah, like one of the things we do for members in EBOOV is we have like a private mastermind for pro members. So I bring in special guests. And this month we actually had Billy and we brought in Laurel Poitier, who's amazing marketers.
They're both great.
Yeah, so it was cool because like Laurel is. She specializes in investing in like, well, let me reverse it. She's made multiple millions of dollars and has not even spent a hundred thousand dollars on ads yet.
That's crazy.
So she specializes in low budget advertising at scale, whereas Billy has days where he's spending 10, 20, 30 grand a day almost all the time. So he talked about how to advertise at scale. So all the members in EBU were able to like take that and like run with it, which I thought was really cool. But yeah, Billy was talking about just being first. Right. With AI and jumping on it and you know, where he sees the market going with it. I thought it was really cool.
Where do you see AI being kind of like implemented into marketing? Digital marketing specifically?
You know, I think that.
Everyone can. I mean, Stevie Wonder can see AI is going to have an impact, Right? I mean, clearly it's going to have an impact.
Yeah.
I mean, but Stevie Wonder could see that digital marketing would have an impact and still people don't see it. You know what I mean? So I think that what's going to happen is what always happens, people will copy what they think the expert is doing, which is just a smoke screen.
Yeah.
Like they're not really doing what the expert is doing, they're just kind of trying it. It's kind of like if you go to chat G GT GPT.
Right?
Yeah, GPT. GPT.
Yeah.
Think about it for a second. You can go say, hey, Write me a sales letter using this framework, right? But all the experts have built have already found the great, the right prompts. Basically the prompt is like the message that you put into the platform to spit out a better answer. Right? So that's kind of how marketing is. It's like you need a sales funnel, so everybody just does it. But then the guru has the real one, like the real sales funnel with the right automations and the right messaging and all these things, whereas everybody else just thought it was a sales funnel. Same thing with AI. So I don't think people are going to use it. Right. It's been built to try to help them save time. I think it's going to cause people like make them spend more time when it's supposed to save them time in their, in their attempt to try to figure it out and to try to copy what the other person is doing when I think they should just figure out a way to use it within the, the context of whatever it is that they're doing.
Okay.
You know what I mean?
Like for example, so be one way.
Okay, I'll give you an example. So like if you have a, if you like what a lot of people are doing right now is they're trying to figure out a way to make money with it. I think that you try to figure way out a way to use it to make money doing the thing you're already doing.
Once you figure out a way to make money with it, AI doing the thing that you're already doing that will tell you how you can make money with it. That makes sense.
That makes sense.
So then now you can go show or teach or create something around how you use it. So like again, in practical terms.
You know, we obviously as a software company, you know, there's ways that you can use it with copy. There's way, there's one way that I saw that people are using it for testimonials and to like.
Be able to transcribe certain things. So like, so for me I think it's, I go and I look at the current state of the company that I'm in and I maybe make a list of all of the AI tools and I say what? How can I use these tools that already exist to enhance, speed up or improve what I'm already doing and then if the results come back positive, you take an assessment of what that is and then you can like, like put gasoline on that one element of AI, right? That helps your business and then that becomes a thing that you can like I used it in this way for my business. It worked. Now I'm making this available for all of you.
That makes sense.
It's kind of like me testing the new feature that we've talked about. Right. Is the idea sounded great or even like in video conversion technology, right before we really started to like sell the software, I used it, got leads sole it was, you know, I was getting leads at that point. 62%. Right, right. It was working. And then I was able to go show the messaging.
Got it.
Where I could have easily just said, hey, I got this thing. It's going to help your opt in performance. Go up, go try it.
Get results first.
And then I did it. And then I could say, okay, go try it. Same thing with the newest feature, right?
Yeah.
Like I'm using that, testing it, getting the results, then we release it.
Got it. Okay.
And I can show them.
Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. Use it to boost your business.
Absolutely.
Yeah. Okay, cool. And that's it. I mean, I think that wraps up this episode. DM recap show. Appreciate all of you watching. If you haven't yet, please like comment and subscribe because more of this is going to be coming out to help you on your marketing journey. So with that being said, see you on the next episode.
Peace out.
