Vince Reed recounts hosting a large webinar (over 500 in the waiting room and roughly 700–1,000 live attendees) and uses the experience to assert a marketing thesis: customers primarily pay for speed (faster results) and access (connection to top people). He framed his webinar offer around those two values rather than the specific content attendees would learn.

So I remember I told my right hand man, I'm like, let's plan a webinar where I can, you know, make an offer and, you know, try to essentially fill this event. So I remember I get into the waiting room on the webinar. It's launch day. You know, literally when this thing started, it just went up. And we were over 500 people in the waiting room for the webinar. We got somewhere between 700 and, like a thousand people on this live webinar. I'm like, okay, now I've got to deliver. I remember being so nervous, I was sweating. I had my slides ready and I got to it. And, you know, what I did on this particular webinar was I'm not gonna make it about the. To make it about access, right? Because I believe that what people really pay for is one of two things. They pay for speed, they want to get a result fast, and they pay for access. Okay? That's why you want to get the picture with your favorite celebrity. That's why you want to be in the room with the people that are making money. So I wasn't going to make this about what you're going to learn at the event. I was going to make this about speed, getting to your end result faster and access to the best of the best, the best players in the industry.
