Waylee George breaks down on-page SEO using ShredSource.net, a guitar lesson site. What's up guys, welcome to the next video in the SEO for Businesses course. In this video, I'll be doing a quick case study of ShredSource.net and what exactly they are doing in terms of on-site optimization that is helping them rank. So I'm going to open up Google Chrome here and head on over to ShredSource.net. Oops, my bad. Where's my Chrome? Right here. So you can see the homepage isn't necessarily ranking at the top search engines because it's not optimized for anything. And the reason is, is because he is using a silo structure. I'm just gonna see if I can find the silo structure for him real quick. I'm not sure, but again, then again, as you can see, the homepage, there's one picture, there's a nice big headline, he's linking to authority sites Wikipedia and ultimateguitar.com, more headlines, more headlines, more headlines, and of course a YouTube video. And if you go to the pages, and once again there's graphics on the right-hand side on the columns. With his affiliate links and of course a Facebook social button. And then you can go— these are the pages that are actually ranking in search engines: country guitar backing tracks, metal guitar backing tracks. And there you go, there's a video and a Wikipedia link. And then we're on country guitar backing tracks right now. This is a silo structure because he has a link to metal guitar backing tracks. You click on this, it goes to the metal guitar backing tracks page. And my internet's slow, messed up right now, or the site itself is messed up. His server must be down. But as you can see, this is the silo structure. This is what the silo structure looks in real life. So what he has is home, guitar backing tracks, I mean country guitar backing tracks, which then links to metal guitar backing tracks. And metal guitar— let's see what metal guitar backing tracks links to. Guitar backing tracks, the regular guitar backing tracks, which links to this. And then as you can see down here, it says learn how to play the guitar, which links to the home page. So his silo is a regular, like, textbook silo. So it has the homepage linking to guitar backing tracks, linking to country, linking to metal, and then linking back here to guitar backing tracks. So it's a big circle, big loop. And I'm assuming this is another silo, similar silo structure right here, where this links to metal online guitar lessons, beginner online guitar lessons, back to online guitar lessons. So it's a big circle. So as you can see, you can definitely recognize how the silo structure is helpful to him and passing on the link juice throughout the entire site. And this is one of my favorite articles because he does everything really well. He has affiliate links well— you can see the affiliate links very nicely. They're sprinkled throughout the article, so there's always somewhere to click. There's call to actions. There's a nice big headline. And his main keyword is best online electric guitar lessons. So he has that bolded. You want to go ahead and bold your main keyword in the title of the article. And then as I said before, you want to write your articles like you're writing sales copy. And he is giving a story of how he learned how to play guitar. And then there are the best places which he is a member of. Again, review, review, review, affiliate link right here, affiliate link right here, and the review. And then more why you should buy online guitar lessons instead of hiring a private tutor. So more like a sales copy. And then again, a YouTube video, then outbound link to an authority site, which is Zookapedia, and then learn how to play guitar, a silo structure. Which goes back to the homepage. And then we do beginner online guitar lessons. Once again, you have the affiliate link on the right-hand side, and then you have beginner online guitar lessons as bolded on your homepage or your article as your title. And then once again, he lists out the benefits, kind of like sales copy. Countless benefits online guitar lessons equal, equal this. Cheap and effective, bottom line, a YouTube video, once again Wikipedia link, so link to an outbound, outbound link to a very authority domain, and then a silo structure to more online guitar lessons. So you can definitely mess around with the site, see how you can work in the silo structure because he's doing really well. And let me Google it for you. Online guitar lessons, he's ranking number 1. Let's see if he's ranking for guitar backing tracks. Nope, he is not. But I'm not sure if he— let's see, country guitar backing tracks. Nope, not for guitar, but he's direct ranked for online guitar lessons, which is definitely a big keyword. See if he's like ranking for metal online guitar lessons. Yup, he's right here, number 3. And then beginner online guitar lessons, once again number 1. So that just goes to show that stuff like this actually works. If you do what is being taught, you'll definitely see results of it. And his backlink, I'll go into detail in a future video. His backlinking method isn't that complicated as well. Hopefully you guys enjoyed this quick case study and you guys learned a little bit about silo structure, how to write your articles, the best on-site optimization to use, and the fact that there are— there needs to be a quick loading speed and not too many pictures but enough pictures to make the article interesting, and a video or two. definitely helps. And make sure you outlink to an authority domain on your site. That's it for this video. See you guys in the next one. Bye-bye.
