How To Reorganize Your SEO Topical Map In Floyi

In this tutorial, Yoyao Hsueh demonstrates the new Organizer feature inside Floyi’s Authority Planner, showing how users can clean up and restructure their SEO topical maps. The video walks through the UI, explaining how to move topics between pillars, combine similar topics, rename them, and promote sub‑topics to pillar level using three view modes (table, column, tree). It highlights practical nuances such as deciding where a low‑FODMAP meal‑prep topic belongs, the importance of staying within a four‑level depth limit for crawler accessibility, and the need to run a recalculation after hierarchy changes to refresh scorecards. The demo also covers undo/redo, reset, and save functions, and points out UI cues like yellow dots for changed items and disabled combine buttons for mismatched levels. Overall, the guide equips SEO strategists with a step‑by‑step process to streamline their topical maps, maintain SEO health, and generate an updated focus plan for content creation.

Hey, it's Yayo from Flowe. We just shipped the organizer feature inside the Authority Planner. So now you can move and combine topics, clean up the topical map, and get a simple focus plan for what to ship next. Let me show you how it works. Let's take a look at our planner. We have a lot of topics on IBS here, um, and gut health in general. So now you'll see that there is a new organizer tab right here next to plan. So now we have 2 views. We have the organizer where you can move the topics around and combine them. You can even rename them if you want. Then the plan is the view that we always had before, right? This is also where your competitor matrix sits. Here we go. You can see your competitor matrix here. Now we want to go to organizer. And you could see, we have a lot of topics here. Maybe you start seeing that there are certain things that you want to combine, right? Because you know that inside your industry and your niche that you don't need as many little topics. Maybe you start seeing some of these topics overlap a little bit, even though they weren't clustered together because the SERP similarity was not there. This is where knowing your niche, knowing your topics and the nuances will really help you. So let's say I'm looking at scrolling through here. You can see how big this list is, right? We can collapse them all. Then we can go through and we can look at the pillars that we want to focus on. Maybe meal planning. And maybe there's some things in meal planning where we can say, okay, these 2 topics seem Very similar. And so these are ones that maybe I want to combine, or maybe you say, okay, here is low FODMAP meal prep and batch cooking tips. But then we also have a low FODMAP diet for IBS down here. So is it a better fit that this low FODMAP meal prep and batch cooking tips is under low FODMAP diet? Or is it better under meal planning? Because meal planning is about batch cooking. Right. And meal prep. So this is where these little nuances is where you really come in and you can move things around. So let's say, okay, I want to move it to low FODMAP because low FODMAP diets are the focus here, the priority in this pillar or in this cluster. So let's take a look at, we just moved it. Where is it? So it went to the bottom of the list. You can see a little yellow dot, meaning that this one was changed. And you have buttons up here. You have an undo, you have a reset, and then you have a save. A save will obviously save it so that when you go back to your plan, you'll be able to see that the low FODMAP meal prep— let's go back real quick. Low FODMAP. Let's see here, down here. Low FODMAP meal prep is under low FODMAP diet. That's just one example of moving around a topic. Now, what if you want to combine topics? Let's say, let's go back to that meal prep. Let's say this meal prep one is similar to, is there another meal prep or meal planning that we want to combine? Let's see, meal planning and recipes for IBS. Let's say we want to combine those 2 into one article. So we combine them. You'll get a little popup. It'll ask you, which of those 2 topics do you want to be the primary topic? So you'll have to pick one and you can even change the name if you want to. And then you just click combine. What it'll do is it'll combine them both. Now you didn't lose that topic either. That topic is actually inside the low FODMAP meal planning and recipes for IBS topic. And once you save it, it will be a keyword inside this low FODMAP meal planning. So let me copy this real quick. Plan. Let me look for the topic. Here it is. Now you can see your link management. And now you have your low FODMAP meal prep and batch cooking tips all ready to go. For when you create your content briefs and your content, right? It's all ready to go so that you are able to use it as anchor text when other pieces of content are linking to this article on low FODMAP meal planning. So that's an example of combining. Now let's say you make, make a whole bunch of changes. Let's just do, get a little crazy here. You make a whole bunch of changes. Oops. Accidentally. Now this is what the undo button is for and the redo buttons. And then of course you can reset it to what it was originally. And you'll need to confirm that you want to discard all those changes and you want to start over. So this is the table view. It's easy to drag and drop. All you need to do is drag on the grip here. If you want to combine topics, only topics that are on the same level can be combined. If I wanted to combine this topic, which is on in the cluster level, and I wanted to combine it with this topic level, I can't do that. You can see that I clicked them both, but there's no combine button enabled here. So you can see that because these 2 are not on the same level, the combine button is not enabled. But if I were to click these, because they're all on the same level, all topic level under medication for IBS, I can combine them, right? Then I just choose one as the primary. All the subtopics will be combined under the primary topic. Okay. So let's clear this out. The handy little clear selection button here. Now let's say you want to make a whole new pillar level. Let's say we want probiotic foods for IBS to be a pillar level topic. All you need to do is click it, drag it to the left a little bit, and you can see the little drop area, drop to pillar level. And so now it will become a pillar level topic right down here. And then all the subtopics come with it as well. So the probiotic foods for IBS will be made a pillar level and everything under moves up a level. So let's reset this. We have 3 different views. First one is table. The second one is columns. If you're on a Mac, you'll be very familiar with this. So you can just click through any of these. The second view, some people love this. For me on a Mac, this is what I'm used to. I can click around. I can click on these handles and move it around under a different topic. Let's say. Probiotic supplements comparison. So you could see here, you can drag this wider. Here's the yellow dot again to tell me that this is what I moved. If I want to just move it here, I can. Here it is. I can move it somewhere else. Here it is. I can see it with a yellow dot. And then this one, if you want to combine, you just click the plus buttons here. So you just click the plus buttons, combine, and then you get the popup again. And this one, if you want to make something a pillar, you just click and drag it and over here to this drop area up above. And then now you have it as a pillar level topic. Okay. Let's reset. Now this last one is the tree. Here we have all the pillar levels and we could, we have a few buttons here for viewing. We have a fit to view, expand all, and collapse. Now, if you look at expand all, you can see it's, it's kind of hard to manage, right? It can be hard to manage. There's always collapse all as well. And you just zoom back in or click fit to view. And it's over here. So here, this is one where, because of the nature of the tree, there's no way to select it and combine them. So you have to do that with columns or table views. But here it may be easier sometimes just to see little things, right? And then it will also warn you if you try to drop topics that have a lot of subtopics and then it takes it past 4 levels. That's what we don't want. That's bad for your site because then it gets too deep for crawlers to get to. So we want to make sure that we stay within the 4 levels. And so if you were to grab one of these that had many levels and you dropped it down later, you'll see a little message down here, depth limit 4 levels max. And then if you saw it really quick, you also, you also see this red border, right? And then this just goes right back. So you can click this, got it. And then of course you can always rename here, click the little pencil. Here and then just rename. Same with any of these others. If you hover over it, you have the pencil, you click it and just rename it, whatever you want, blah, blah, blah. And then you could always reset it or undo it. So this is super handy. Really cool. Whenever you come back to your plan, it'll all be automatically updated here and refreshed here. Now, one of the things you do need to be aware of is when you're moving around topics and reorganizing, combining and everything, your scorecard will go out of date. Not to worry, because now we have this little recalculate button. It'll say recent hierarchy changes are pending. You'll need to run a recalculation to update scores. And because these scores take a long time to calculate, depending on how large your map is. This one is 518 topics. This could take about 20 to 30 minutes. So it's going through all the new topics. It has to analyze all that. And then you'll be able to see your new scores all in one place again. So you can expect your score here to change. And in a nutshell, that's it. That's the organizer view where you are able to Move around your topics, combine them, change the topic name and everything. Have fun.
