Stephan Murtagh says 86% of client loss comes from how companies treat customers, not external factors. He trains 50 salespeople monthly at the Entrepreneurs Academy, teaching that sales is a simple conversation about solving problems. Most salespeople overcomplicate it.
If you look at the reasons why suppliers move from— sorry, why salespeople or businesses lose clients each year, 86% of the reasons are within our control. It's how we treat the clients, how we value them. Now, there's obviously people die, people move away, they're ones we can't necessarily do anything about.
And the market changes, products change.
Yeah, absolutely.
Well, with good selling and good account management, we can control— I think those numbers make perfect sense. I'd say, yeah, you know, that 86% in our control makes perfect sense.
You see, we could do that. I mean, it's like I say, I train probably on an average month, I'll probably train 50 salespeople in one particular company. It's called the Entrepreneurs Academy. It's young companies just setting up. I train about 50 people every month on average. And I say to them, sales is not complicated. In fact, if anything, as salespeople, we overcomplicate things. We've got to make— understand the basics of what sales is. Sales is a conversation between 2 people to come up with a solution. Right. If the solution or the problem isn't obvious, we may have to create a problem. And I don't mean— I don't mean that in an underhand way. We may need to highlight the problem.
