Zahara - Adjunto foto del café verbena (Live) | Vevo Live Performance
In this live performance, the singer delivers a vivid, poetic monologue that weaves together surreal imagery and cultural references to portray a night at the Café Verbena. The lyrics juxtapose contrasting emotions—anger and calm—within a floating pool, describe bodies as closed‑eyed stars, and reference waterfalls, shadows, and old souls. The narrative references Spanish singer Peret, a DJ, Trip Advisor‑recommended restaurant, Electro Pop Latino, Coyote Dax, and even octogenarian neighbors dancing like Michael Jackson. A recurring refrain questions the value of being so intelligent that no one understands you. The piece ends with a farewell, a “game over” moment, and a promise of tomorrow from a character named Carmen, encapsulating themes of fleeting joy, existential isolation, and communal celebration.
