What Do You Want to Start, Stop, and Continue in 2023?
28 Dec 2022 · 67 min
In this end‑of‑year episode of The In Between Podcast, hosts Astrid and Alexis (Alexis Teichmiller) record the day after Christmas and reflect on their recent in‑person community workshop, noting how the diverse audience deepened their sense of purpose and collaboration. They then launch a structured "start‑stop‑continue" exercise (including "more/less") to set intentions for 2023. Both share personal goals: a dopamine detox to curb instant‑gratification habits (social media, sweets, snoozing); intentional budgeting and weekly finance reviews, plus selling unused clothing on resale platforms; expanding movement practices (Pilates, yoga, hiking, 5K/10K runs) and integrating more varied workouts. Alexis discusses balancing masculine (hustle, discipline) and feminine (rest, intuition) energies in motivation, while Astrid focuses on shedding people‑pleasing and external opinions. They explore accountability styles, emphasizing "tough love" check‑ins, weekly date nights, and community support. Alexis outlines plans to relaunch the Deeper Life podcast, grow a private community, increase video content on TikTok and Instagram, and automate business processes. Both talk about personal growth themes—letting go of past trauma, embracing vulnerability, deepening friendships, and seeking coaching. The conversation also includes heartfelt gratitude toward their listeners, reflections on the podcast’s evolution from its March conception to a July launch, and excitement for 2023 resources beyond the show, encouraging listeners to envision their own future possibilities. The episode weaves together reflections on past achievements, challenges with overworking and social media, and a hopeful, intentional roadmap for the new year.

Friends, welcome back to Welcome to another episode of The In Between Podcast. This is one of your hosts, Astrid, and the other host, Alexis. And today we are recording the day after Christmas.
I know, look at us making time for the pod immediately after Christmas is over.
I love it.
This is our Christmas.
It really is.
This is my gift to you. Your presence is a present to me.
I love this. This escalated quickly. I know.
I also love being home Well, for a lot of reasons, but I love that we can record in person.
Yes.
Like, it just genuinely makes everything so much more fun.
I agree.
I love recording with you virtually, but recording in person is like top-notch.
I want to stare into your eyeballs.
I want to look at you the entire time. Exactly. Um, last week we hosted our first event, which was unreal. Like, so thankful for everyone that came out. We had people drive, you know, an hour, 2 hours to join us, and Uh, our first workshop, and that was really meaningful to me. And just like hearing what people were celebrating, hearing where they wanted to grow in the new year, like just the community piece of it and normalizing that conversation among other people who also were interested in personal development was really special. So I am like really glad that we made that a priority. I know that we both had a lot going on and I'm so glad that we made it happen.
Me too. I think it was just humbling to see so many people show up that we didn't know.
Right.
I think especially when you're starting something, you expect, or you might have more of your closer friends and family be the ones there. But to see that our, like, some of our most loyal listeners are people we hadn't known previously and getting to know them and being like, they know so much about us. And it just also felt, it added this layer of like intimacy. That was so great because we know we align with those people based on what they're listening to.
Right.
And then the conversations it brought, like there were so many people that showed up by themselves.
Yeah.
And I admire that so much because I've also been the girl that, you know, moved from Miami to a new town. I had to show up at places by myself to make friends or just because I wanted to be there. And then seeing everyone that drove separately come together and have those powerful conversations. It was just very rewarding and very humbling. And yeah, it's just one of those things where I'm like, wow, we, we put that together and it's not about us. It's, it's truly a collaboration. Like it wouldn't have been as successful if it wasn't the people there that spoke up and brought that conversation to the table as well.
Yeah, I agree. 10 out of 10. And it was cool that we had people there ranging from 22 to like mid-60s, 60s. And, um, hearing, oh yeah, I've. I listen to the podcast every single week. And I was like, you do? You know, I think we record these episodes and it's like, you know, is anybody out there?
I know. I know.
And it's like, we see the numbers, we see the podcast growing, we see how many downloads we get, but it's like meeting people who you've never met before and they're like, oh, I listen to the podcast every week. Um, and I talk about it with my daughter who also listens to it. It's just so like humbling, like you said, and it's surreal. And it also shows that When you do commit to something and you start something that has an impact beyond yourself, and then it starts to actually take shape, it's a really beautiful thing to see, you know, as the creators of something turn into something that's way beyond us. Right. And I think that's kind of like the, uh, when you start to see the impact of what you're building, it really kind of solidifies like, okay, we're on the right path here. Like we're building something that's really special.
Yes. I think whenever we started the podcast too, or whenever you start anything, You get that imposter syndrome of like, oh, well, there's already so many fill in the blank. There's already so many best friend podcasts or like all these different layers of it. And then just, just peeling back and be like, you know what, we're doing this based on what we're passionate about, what we bring to the table. And it's not about the result. It's about the impact, whether that's 5 people or 500.
Right.
And so, yeah, it was incredible. I'm excited to see where this leads and what we could potentially do next year too. Um, but overall, I'm just so happy that we challenged ourselves outside of, um, our mics and our laptops and brought it to, to real life, um, in-person interaction with, um, our community. And yeah, if you're listening, thank you for being a part of our community, whether you were able to come to the event, whether you have been listening for the past few months.
Mm-hmm.
Or interacting with us online. We're so grateful for you. And yeah, this is also our last podcast for the year, dude.
Oh yeah, you're right.
Last podcast of 2022.
Oh my God, let's go!
We're really in between years.
Literally. Literally.
Um, speaking of, if— what are you in between right now?
Oh, that's a good one.
Um, like you don't know I'm gonna ask it. I know, I know.
I don't—
Oh, good question. We never cover this. If you're new to the pod, we ask each other this at the beginning of every, every episode of What Are You In Between Right Now? And yeah, anyways, what are you in between right now, friend?
Um, I am in a new layer of letting go of what people's opinions are about me and my life and my decisions and my choices.
Yeah.
Um, I feel like I've let go of some of that, but as you grow. I feel like each layer brings another layer of shedding what people will think about you, whether it's your smaller circle and the people whose opinions you really value, or whether it's on a, on a bigger scale or like just more people. And so, yeah, so I'm just really working on fine-tuning. Am I doing this? Am I not doing this because of somebody else's opinion or what I think this, this might bring up?
Mm-hmm.
Or is this really something that I don't want to do? And so I've realized personally, I am more prone to not do something based off of that, to not cause any commotion or have to explain myself or whatever, than I am to do it. So I'm on the flip side. I'm in between like just actually just doing the thing and being like, this is what I want for my life. I'm an adult. This is, um, what, how I wanna move forward. And if you don't like that, you have your own life to make decisions on. And that's, Great. It's the best part about life. We all get ownership. So yeah, so I'm in between just letting go of people pleasing and people's perception. And yeah, and I also think we can villainize the people around us when they have an opinion that doesn't align with us.
Sure.
And there's been times where I've reacted to something that somebody else I love has done or said because it's A trigger for me in some shape or form.
Right.
And so I think also leaving room for that, like it's not, oh, okay, they just don't get me. You're out of my inner circle. It's just, what do I want? And I'm just gonna make that decision and move forward.
Mm-hmm.
And that's everything else is just, just on the sidelines.
Yeah. Yeah. And it does give that perspective too, of at the end of the day, when I'm living my life or behaving a certain way or making choices, who or what is influencing that? And like, is it me and my values or is it the people around me? And I think that when you have, you know, solid people in your life that influence you, that's not a bad thing, but it's like when it becomes, when it overrides your own, when it overrides your own influence on your decisions and that pie, you know, does that make sense? Like your, your decision-making and your values should be the largest piece of the pie and then your Your inner circle, you know, should have a sliver of that pie of how they impact your life. But it's like when you, when you like override that with 25% you and 75% is your, you know, outside influence, it can really start to make you not trust yourself.
Yes.
Yeah, for sure.
And you will resent people around you. So if they weighed, weighed a lot in a decision that you wanted to make, and then suddenly you listen to that and you didn't do the thing, you don't, Or you did do the thing and you didn't want to do that.
Yeah.
And suddenly you're resenting them without realizing it because it wasn't your decision.
Sure.
So there's a lot of ownership that comes with that. Like, okay, this is what I want, and it's okay if you have a different decision. And I know the consequences that come with that, and I am choosing that for my life, whether it's positive or negative.
So, right.
Um, yeah, just, just letting go. I think just owning our life. That's a beautiful side of things that is hard to get to, but, um, it's a gift for us as well. I agree.
I love that. Thank you for sharing. I am in between the feminine and masculine of starting a new year, and like, I've been listening to a lot of motivational podcasts whenever I'm in the gym, like literally motivational speakers, like, and it's cut up into different, um, episodes about different topics. And it's, it's a very masculine approach to life. It's like, you know, rough and tough, get it done, push through, persevere, like cut out all the bullcrap. Like it's very direct. There's a part of my personality type that really loves that. It like scratches an itch in me that I'm like, Okay, yeah, totally resonate with that. And then there's this other side of me, the more feminine energy that wants to value rest and that wants to value my body and like value listening to myself and my intuition and things like that. And I'm not saying that that masculine energy can't tap into that, but I do feel like there's these kind of extremes that I have seen personal development go into. There's the masculine extreme. And then there's the feminine extreme where it's like, okay, the masculine extreme looks like hustle work, you know, 12, 18-hour days every day, like no sleep like that, you know, team no sleep. We just kind of like grind it out.
Mm-hmm.
And then the feminine extreme to me looks a lot like, you know, um, things will come to you when they're meant for you and like very, um, manifestation-oriented, which I believe in manifesting. But I also believe in putting in the work to make manifestation happen.
Yeah.
Where I feel like sometimes the feminine energy is just like, let, let whatever's for you is for you. And like, let it come to you and, and like, you know, rest and just really just like, just like live in, you know, listening to your intuition, which I believe in all of that too. I am in between trying to find my own center of those 2 extremes. So I'm kind of trying to balance out where my pendulum is with that mentality when it comes to like motivation and things like that, because I think that can really influence me too. If I go too far in the masculine, I'm exhausted. If I go too far in the feminine, for me, I don't really feel like I'm working. Like I'm not putting in the reps.
Yeah.
Like, I don't feel like I'm putting in the work ethic to meet where my dreams are. If I'm living over in the feminine too much. And that's just my interpretation. That might not land with you if you're listening, but I'm kind of in between trying to figure out where my motivation is with that. And like, how do I engage with that kind of energy to like, you know, you draw on that and it pulls you up to like get the, get the thing done. Um, so I'm trying to figure out how to do that, I guess, walking into the new year.
Yeah. I think that's a powerful conversation to have, because some people are so burnt out on the discipline inside of things that they go all the way over to just intuition.
Totally.
And then on the flip side, then you have all these— this intuition, but there's no results coming your way because you don't— you're not putting in the reps, you're not creating any discipline. So like, right, how are you able to come in and balance both of those is really, um, it takes time to figure that out. But I think both are equally as important.
I agree.
Like, yeah, your intuition can guide you to perhaps where you want go, but it's that masculine discipline energy that will get you there. So one is, is put me on the map, like this is the direction, and the other one's actually getting there, right? Which is very different. So I'm happy for you, and I'm glad that you brought that up because a lot of people will just literally camp out on one of those sides.
I've been that person. This is the only way. I've definitely been that person. I think like If you are navigating that walking into the new year, I invite you to kind of figure out what energy do you resonate with and how can you also learn or pull things in from a different energy that you feel like is more sustainable. And that's the thing is like, how do, how do I build this sustainable mindset, the sustainable framework that's not living in extremes, but like the daily integration of both energies?
Yeah. And I think too, like. context of where you're at in life. Like, if you, you're going through a grieving season, you just lost someone, you just went through a breakup, something like that, that's like life-changing, or you switch jobs, like, give yourself the grace that you don't have to be so disciplined.
Yeah.
But then also, if you're like at a solid point in life where you're in a growth season, then perhaps leaning more into the other side is what you need right now, right? And so being able to ebb and flow through seasons of life Or in between seasons.
Yeah.
Um, and being able to say, okay, right now is not a season of doing, it's a season of being and just resting.
Yeah, 100%. So yeah, I, I'm excited to see what that looks like in the new year and kind of channeling more of that for myself. Speaking of the new year, today's topic is around things that we want to start, stop, continue, do more of, and do less of in the new year. And this is an exercise I learned, um, actually from One of my previous jobs, we did this a lot as a team, and it was really helpful to add in a layer of perspective. It's like an intentional pause, reflect, reflect so that you can move forward, not reflect so that you can criticize. It's like, okay, let's take a pause and see where we're at so that we can like build momentum towards what we know we need to start doing, stop doing, continue doing. And then, you know, the more and less of are there as almost like. Okay, there are things I've kind of started integrating, but I want to turn the dial up. Or there are things that I don't want to necessarily completely cut from my life, but I want to be intentional about doing less of it. So I'm excited about this conversation. Um, let's start with start.
Okay, start seems like a great place to start.
Um, do you want me to go first?
Yeah, sure.
Okay, so the way that I did it is I just went ahead and did the items that were top of mind for me for the next year. And I actually want to take this coming week to dive even deeper into each one. Um, but basically something that I— one of the big things that I have been thinking of doing and starting is a dopamine detox in January.
Mm-hmm.
And so I think the last few months have just been so crazy with work and exhausting, and sometimes that can lead into some of the good habits falling off. And so, yeah, and I'm, I'm also curious to what can happen if I don't give in to all these, like, mindlessly scrolling on social media and all these things. So basically what the dopamine detox will look like for me in January will be, um, pretty much anything that's like instant gratification. So, um, I'm gonna have a set time for social media. Of course, that's a big part of my job. And so I need to know what trends are up. and all that good stuff.
But what sound do I use for this?
What's—
yes, really, it's just like I'm posting last month's sound.
Yeah, girl's not on social. Oh no. Yes.
Um, so limiting probably like just max to an hour a day, but be staying focused on this is for work. So like, this is for my personal brand, this is for this client, this is for this other client, and the pockets of content. Um, another one is gonna be Snoozing.
No snoozing.
That's instant gratification I also give myself into. So being able to just be like, the alarm went off, we're getting up, we're getting up, we're doing that.
Um, we're doing that.
We're doing that thing.
I love that.
Um, sweets. Like, I, um, sometimes when I'm really stressed, I can be like, I need chocolate, I need— I want chocolate. And there's nothing wrong with sweets. It's more the mindset that I'm attaching that to, of like, that's helping me cope through this stress right now. And so that's another layer of it. And, um, yeah, and then shopping. So being able to not— or focusing on not buying things I don't need in the month of January or that I haven't planned for. And not just like, oh, this is cute, add to cart, purchase, done, repeat. Um, so yeah, so I'm, I'm gonna work through basically integrating or being more aware of what is such instant gratification in my life and like trying to peel back from it. Even as simple as I just finished eating lunch and instead of fully cleaning all the dishes and everything and putting it away, I'm like, I'll do that later. That's an area I'm giving into instant gratification because I don't want to clean up, so I'm gonna go ahead and do it right away.
Right.
Because that's what my disciplined self would want to do. So based off of that, that's really where most of my goals are, or like my start, stop, continue will be going through. Uh, but I feel like the dopamine detox pretty much, uh, wraps that up with the start. And then the, um, 3 other things that I have is earlier this year I was messaging people once a week and just reaching out and being like, this is what I really admire about you. This is how I'm really grateful for you. Or this is like something that Um, just sending intentional messages every week. Um, and then intentionally budgeting and then different types of workout and movement. So I just really want to integrate more Pilates, more, um, yoga, just, um, if I'm traveling, like more hiking, just really getting more exploring different ways of moving my body.
Right. Besides, yeah, we can get in like movement ruts.
Yeah.
Where it's like we've built the discipline of moving, but then it's like we all It's almost like we're comfortable then. It's like, okay, well, I only move this way. I only weightlift, or I only do yoga. I love that. And then you mentioned the personal finance, or the— what, what, what does that look like?
Yeah, so that wraps up with the dopamine detox, um, but it's more intentionally budgeting. So part of it is gonna be, um, not just buying things that I am like, oh, that's cute, add to cart purchase. But the other side of things for me, it's like I'm very responsible in having what's the amount of savings that I need and what's the amount of cash I need in my account. But anything past that, I'm like, it's free game.
Ah.
So I want to dial in with like that, like extra chunk of, okay, is this going to travel? Is this going to saving for a family trip? Is this going to investing? Is this— because then when you look back at the end of the year, you're like, dang, that was a lot of money that I could have done something more intentional with. So that's really what I want to start doing is just really accounting for all of my finances, not just 80% of them.
Yeah, I love that. It's like building the discipline all the way around. Yeah, because you're very disciplined with like your savings and your business expenses. It's like that one area that's maybe tied to the gratification piece of like, oh, I'm stressed, or I worked really hard, like I'm gonna go shopping.
Yeah, or even—
yeah, or even just like Okay, um, at the end of the month you get X amount of dollars to go do whatever you want with it, right? So it's not like going all the way where you can't do anything fun. It's just being intentional about how much money am I giving myself to just have fun with, right? Rather than just swipe, swipe.
Yeah, free game. Yeah. What about you?
Um, okay, so I made a list of things I want— I'm starting in 2023. So starting building a writing habit so that I can write a book. Um, running more 5Ks and 10Ks. This has been something I like stumbled upon in the last month. My friend randomly was like, do this turkey trot with us on Thanksgiving morning. And Matthew and I was like, Matthew like convinced me to do it. He was like, this would be really fun. I was like, you know, okay, I'll do it. I want no expectations around walking, running. Like I'm just going to do it. Um, and then I ran the whole thing, which was very surprising to me. I hadn't ran a 5K in over a decade. And I would like to challenge myself in that way to overcome this narrative that I've built about, I'm not a runner. And I think this applies to so much in our lives. I'm not good with my finances. I'm not, you know, meant to be in a relationship. I'm not fill in blank. And so I want to help rewrite that narrative by, by challenging myself to do more intentional races this year.
I love that. Thanks.
Um, okay. So I'm also starting a community for Deeper Life. This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time. I work for a company called Circle who is a, is a community platform. Um, it's essentially like kind of replacing Facebook groups and it gives you a really safe place to connect without so many distractions like there is on social media. So I'm really excited about starting that this year. Um, bringing back the personal podcast.
Mm-hmm.
So bringing back Deeper Life. Um, I have had my cover art for like 2 months. I've recorded 8 episodes.
Oh my gosh.
And I literally just haven't put it out. New year, new you, baby. So I'm like, okay, you know, so, uh, launching that in January. And I've, I started the Deeper Life Podcast in 2020 and then did it for, you know, till basically last January. And then I started my 9 to 5 and I just like didn't have mental capacity for it. And I'm bringing it back, which feels really good. Um, another thing I'm starting is weekly personal finance reviews. So underneath Continue, just like spoiling this, Matthew and I do monthly budget reviews together at the big— at the end of each month, slash like start of the next month. Um, but I want to start doing weekly personal finance reviews for my own accounts.
Love that.
So my own business accounts, my own personal spending, um, and start doing that every Sunday afternoon. Just just as a pulse check, where are we? How are we spending our money? How much of this is tied to coping? Like really getting into how I spend my money. So that's very exciting.
And you're smiling at me, girl. I am just in shock. I am.
I'm so freaking proud of you.
I've changed so much. You have changed so much.
Like if someone would have told me eight months ago that you'd be sitting across from me being like, I'm gonna start doing.
Weekly finance check-ins, I would, I would flip over. Yeah, but I—
Change is possible, my friends. I am so proud of you.
I think it's amazing. And I also think it's all of these, um, incredible things that you're doing is a reflection of all the emotional hard work you've put in this year to let go of a lot of things, to face a lot of things. And it's just powerful how much when we work on ourselves It can show up in the habits and the goals that we have, and it almost like unlocks something. I feel like you unlocked so much this year.
Yeah.
I'm so freaking proud of you.
I love this. Thank you.
You're literally— as I said that, Esther's like face was like not shock, it was like a happy shock.
It was like a wow, okay, you go girl, we love this.
Um, okay, so a part of that is something I want to start doing is I want to start selling my clothes on Poshmark and Depop. Um, I'm really looking at specific ways I can add more revenue streams to my life. Um, aside from even just like my coaching business, Deeper Life, and my 9 to 5, like looking for ways I can be smart about making, um, consistent income. And I do like 2 or 3 Instagram clothing sales a year, but it expires in 24 hours.
Yeah.
And so what doesn't end up getting sold on my personal Instagram stories, I ended up just bringing to Goodwill.
Yeah.
Um, or bringing to like Buffalo Exchange. And it's like, I know I could be making more consistent income by selling my clothes on Poshmark. Um, so that's something I want to start doing as well.
I love that, especially because you love fashion and being able to like get some money back from what you've invested in, but also then not overloading your, your closet. Like you get some stuff and you're like, okay, when I sell those items, I can get, you know, these other ones that I want. Um, I love that idea. I might steal that.
Yeah, I have 6 pairs of Madewell jeans that do not fit me anymore. And, um, like beyond being able to be altered, like I can't alter them.
Yeah.
Um, so I'm like, okay, well, I don't want to take those to Goodwill. I would love— those are $100 to $120 pairs of denim. I would love to be able to sell them for like $50, you know?
And I'm sure someone else would love to buy a pair of Madewell jeans for $50.
For sure. So yeah, that's something I want to start doing. And then my last one is more acts of service. So a monthly intentional act of service. So picking up trash in our neighborhood. Um, um, something that Matthew and I've done before that we really enjoy is volunteering at Houston's food bank. So just like intentionally once a month being, being really, um, I think that acts of service. get you outside of yourself and give you perspective of like the impact that the world around you has.
Yes.
And like, you can play a small role in that, but there's so much more going on in the world than just you and your life and your goals and your problems. And when you are able to step outside of yourself and actually serve other people, it's not for a selfish reason. Like, I'm not serving just to make myself feel better. I'm serving because I have the time and I have the resources to donate and to give my time. And I wanna do that right now. So that's something I wanna do in 2023 is to like give more consistently outside of myself.
I love that. I, I think it's one of those things that, um, like you said, we can be so wrapped up into our own world and our own goals.
Yeah.
And then there's people right next to us or close by that are really needing that help and that impact that you can have on them.
Right.
So yeah, that's incredible. I love all of those.
Thanks, girl. What do you wanna stop doing in the new year?
I want to stop mindlessly scrolling on social media. Um, again, I'm coming off of a pretty intense— I feel like my year is almost split into 2 years. Like, my January through August was so incredibly disciplined and like 10 out of 10s, and then August to now just has felt so— it's been fun, it's been a lot of like great things accomplished, and I'm so grateful for it, and it also felt kind of chaotic. So I want to find a little bit of balance between both of those. Um, and so at times I've caught myself scrolling on social media a little bit more than I used to, and I feel like I had kicked that habit to the curb, and then now it's popped back up again.
Mm-hmm.
Um, and I just, I don't know, it gets to a point where it's like your mind feels a little too cluttered. Like, okay, what are my thoughts, right? And I think social media can be a really great tool and it can be a lot of like, you can have a lot of resources there, but when you spend so much time on there, it's, it clouds everything and now you're not even making any progress. So I want to stop doing that.
Um, it's almost like moderation.
Yes, just moderation. Yeah. I'm not against social media, just moderation. Um, and I want to stop overworking and creating more room for rest.
So why are you laughing? No, no, no, keep going. This is very exciting. This is like the financial one. This is like my reaction to you with me being like, I'm gonna do weekly finance reviews.
This is very— I'm really proud of you for prioritizing this in the new year. And like, I think this goes hand in hand with things feeling chaotic and how that might be attached to like the overworking and the sprints of overworking and needing rest and overworking and needing rest. It's almost like The opposite, like the extremes.
Yes.
Coming out. Yes.
You know, for sure. Like we talked about earlier, it's like, yeah, in my mind I'm like, of course I can handle it. This is how it fits in my time blocks.
You know, like, I'm like, it's so crazy about that.
Um, but yeah, I feel like whenever I went full-time, I was able to be very productive, yet I still created a lot of room for rest and relaxation. And now, um, I guess I just want to dial in what does busy season look like for me? Because that's, I think that's the main thing that threw me off is I knew what my life, what I wanted it to look like when I was in just normal workflow. But when it's in the insane season, I didn't take a second to prep for what that schedule would look like and be like, what are the things that I need for this season?
Right.
So it's really just that area, um, or that season specifically. And so, um, how can I create more boundaries around, um, work that I take on, time? Um, and then that always leads to like just staying up late on social just because I didn't get time to myself. So it's just, right, you know, crazy cycle.
Right.
So I want to stop doing that and, um, Yeah, and I think I mentioned the other ones in the start portion with the dopamine detox, but stopping just like that instant gratification of things, of just like, okay, I'll wake up whenever I want to, or I'll do this whenever I want to, or I'll purchase this whenever I want to. I just leaned into that a little bit too much the past few months.
Yeah, um, it's like it's a search for freedom.
Yes, it is. And so, and then the cool thing And this is an in-between, is I feel like a lot of that stuff, I dialed it in the first half of the year, and then it popped back up the last few months, and now it feels unfamiliar, and it makes me feel a little unsettled.
Interesting.
And so I like that because it's now not my normal, and I'm like, okay, I'm ready to like go back to me. And I like that. So before, like earlier this year, I would be like, this is a part of my life, like this is who I am, and I need stop doing this habit. So yeah, so I, I, um, I'm feeling confident about it because I know that's not my normal, right? But it's definitely something I want to stop doing.
Okay, I love that. I, I can't wait to support you in that this year too. And I, I think it'd be cool too, like, how can we hold each other accountable for these things?
Yes.
You're like, Alexis, we can do check-ins.
How are your weekly financial reviews? Yes, in addition to your in-between. Yeah, when have you signed up for a 5K? When What's your next 5, right? Yeah.
Um, things I'm stopping in 2023, miscellaneous spending. This is a big one, is like the random spends or like people will be like, the top 5 things that I've left from my household. And you're like, oh, I need this. And I think it's like the miscellaneous without intention.
Yes.
That really trips me up. Um, something I like in the continue piece is like the organization of my home.
Mm-hmm.
I think it's like, okay, we are in an organizational sprint. The month of February, we're going to reorganize the bathroom vanities and our kitchen cabinets. And let's say like our pantry over the month. Okay, well then we're going to intentionally spend for those projects instead of like random spending that doesn't actually help solve a problem. It's like a little bandaid spend.
Mm-hmm.
So I've noticed my spending, like for our home, feels like a lot of bandaid spending. Instead of like, okay, we're going to set aside intentional time for this project and then we're not going to waste money on these random, not connected spending. So we're going to do it in one sitting. So that's a big one. Um, another thing I'm going to stop doing is using circumstances as excuses.
Retweet.
Um, I would say, um, I can't do this because I'm traveling or I've got this going on and this is going to be a busy season. I've got this summit coming up at work. Always looking for circumstantial reasons and excuses to not do something. And I really broke through this whenever I was in Europe this past summer, is I was doing a group coaching experience with my, like, um, a group coaching clients. And I still met with them every week. There was one week where we didn't meet, which I was intentional about because we were going to be in Amalfi and not have service. Um, but like, Okay. I was still able to keep my promises, keep my commitments, show up as a coach and still have a lot of fun with my clients, even though I was on the road. And like did the same thing with a lot of my one-on-one clients during that time as well. Like still was able to maintain and it didn't feel like, oh, okay, I've got to like, you know, I really want to be on vacation right now, but I've got to work. Yeah. It didn't feel like that.
Good.
And so I want to continue. Doing that and stop using circumstances to not do something or not launch something because I'm like, oh, well, that's going to overlap with this time. And no, none of that. And then the last one is letting fear and hard work get in the way.
Oh, I feel that one.
So it's like, oh, well, that's going to take a lot of work. Or like, oh, that's, you know, I'm scared. Or like, I don't know if I have the skill and I'm just not going to do that anymore. We're not doing that.
Mm-hmm.
So I love that. I, I, I resonate a lot with that last one of like letting the fear pop back up. And I've recognized I just really need people around me to push me and like dial me back in and be like, you can do this.
Yeah.
And let's get your crap together.
Like, mm-hmm.
Sometimes I need that though. Like, yeah, I, I really, everyone experiences support and accountability differently.
Mm-hmm.
Um, and I think it's important to know your accountability style. How do you want to be held accountable? I need tough love. I actually don't need you to be incredibly kind and empathetic with me. I need you to be like, you said that you were going to do this. What happened? Period. And like, I've recognized that. And now I need to go like specifically like, okay, Matthew, I need that. This is what I need in this season. Okay, Astra, this is like, if you're going to ask me about this, I genuinely want you to like have this approach. Um, and I think that can help even like with people that want to hold you accountable or support you. Sometimes they're not really sure how you want it to be delivered to them. Yeah. So I'm in my tough love era.
I love that. Honestly, same. And I— we're doing a challenge too in January, and I'm like, how can I create that level of support around me to get across through these goals? And also how beautiful it is that we do need people around us to get through those goals, to get through those like mental barriers that Some of these things that we want to stop doing, it's gonna like our— it's also what comes up when we decide to start stop doing these things.
Right.
Which I think a lot of times we're not prepared for that. And it's why we don't continue to like actually follow through all the way is we want to stop doing something and then the emotions come up and then now it's triggered or it's attached to something else and you're just like, yeah, just gonna move that to the side. But when you have that community and that support, they're like, okay, well, Where is it? And then now you have a space to talk about it, or you know someone's going to hold you accountable to it that you really care about. So you're like, I'm going to push through because I told Matthew, or I told so-and-so that like, this is what I was going to do.
Right.
Um, but yeah, I totally resonate with that. And I'm like, I need support or else I'm never getting this done.
Amen. Okay.
What are you continuing in the new year?
I am continuing my morning routine and nighttime routine.
Yes.
So that was something I started this year. It was a game changer. Um, and I want to continue like dialing in and, and, um, really adjusting it. Um, but yeah, it was a game changer for me. I think just taking time in the morning to not, um, not jump straight into work, own my morning, work on my mindset, work on my gratefulness, get that sunlight exposure, um, regulate my hormones, regulate my body, just all these things that as humans you just, we were just not taught that your body needs in the morning. And it just felt amazing and so loving to create that space in the morning for me. And same thing with the nighttime routine.
Mm-hmm.
I want to continue my movement practice, like keep working out, keep challenging myself. Um, and I want to continue challenging my environment. So I'm going to Dallas in, um, February, and I think just like challenging who I'm hanging out with, what I'm listening to, the social media that I'm consuming, like just all of my environment continuously, um, audit it and challenge it. I think I'm in this era, or like I guess what's top of mind for me is what catalyst do I need in my life? And I think my environment is one of them. So switching those environments could be a catalyst for what I For a breakthrough or for a big dream to like happen. And so yeah, I just, I need to continue challenging that.
I love that. I'm really excited to have you close too.
Yes, you're like, I hope she loves it. I hope you love it down here. Come be in Texas with me.
That would be amazing.
Uh, what do you want to continue? I want to continue my movement practice as well, similar to you. 5 movements a week, meal prepping, prioritizing travel, which is a big one. I've noticed how Having a trip on the books, how that is very motivating to me. And I think I used to feel bad about that because my relationship with travel was escapism. And now my relationship with travel is is almost like a reward and celebration of life.
I love that.
And so I've tried. I'm like rewrote my relationship with travel. And so I used to feel bad of like, oh, I don't have a. I I shouldn't look forward to this trip. Because I'm escaping. And it's like, no, we used to do that, but we don't do that anymore. We look forward to this trip because we're celebrating the life that we've built. We're prioritizing new experiences. We're prioritizing the unknown.
Yeah.
And because you never know what's on the other side of a trip.
Yes.
And so it's like, we're prioritizing this because we value it, not because we're running away from anything anymore.
I love that. And so the thing, it was the, the, um, approach to it.
Exactly. It was the intention behind it. And so I want to continue prioritizing travel. Creating a, creating a home environment that cultivates peace and creativity. That's something that Matthew and I, you know, we went, we did like a house hop celebration, um, for Christmas with our friends and you were there. Um, you were there with me.
You are a friend.
You were there with us. And every single one of our friends' homes was just so like intentionally decorated and like not overcluttered, but like the decor and everything was just very cohesive and Matthew and I, you know, we moved 6 months ago and we're still kind of putting a lot of our house together. And after that, literally after that night, he got in the car, he was like, okay, I see what you mean. Because he, he kind of struggles with the investment, the financial investment it does take to have that and to have a cohesive, like, home environment where your decor matches and you have certain rooms that have a certain feeling to them.
Yes.
You know, so, but that night he got in the car and he was like, okay, I think Q1 of next year we need to prioritize getting the house to a place that we both feel really good.
That's amazing.
And I was like, thank God.
You're like, we needed this house off. We needed this house off months ago. Yeah.
I could totally see how hard it would be though. And I think sometimes it's just, unless you feel that peace or you feel that creativity in a room, you don't associate it and you're like, Why are we gonna spend $2,000 in this room? Like, if we invest that or put it towards whatever else, like, that would mean something else.
Yeah. So I'm, I'm excited.
Thank you. You're like, it's about time, baby.
Um, and then the last 2 things I want to continue with Matthew specifically, uh, we do weekly date nights every Wednesday night, which has just been so enriching to our relationship and just brings us so much joy midweek. Like, we're like kids on Christmas together. We get in the car and we're like, we're excited about the restaurant, we're excited about the food experience, the conversation. Like, we just love prioritizing that together.
Oh wait, pause real quick.
Yeah, I have questions.
Yeah, so doing date nights on Wednesdays, I feel like most people would do date nights on the weekend, right? Tell me, like, why Wednesday? Why did you guys choose Wednesday? And then also, is it hard sometimes to, like, disconnect from what everything that's going on during the week? Or is it like refreshing? Like just, just a little, little side note.
Yeah. Um, it's very refreshing. It's a midweek reset for us because we spend so much intentional time together on the weekend already. So like date, date night is pretty much all weekend for us.
Right.
But it's like during the week, you know, we're, we're both very focused on work. We're very in our, in our careers. And I think Wednesday night is that midweek check-in. Where we get to just really reconnect, be really intentional with our time. Um, and we, we love it. It's, it's like a refresher.
I love that. Yeah.
Yeah, it works for us. And then the last one is continuing the monthly budget reviews with Matthew. That's something that was a source of conflict in our relationship. And we really sat down in like September when he got home from South America, he was fully transitioned back to Houston. That was like a big area that we needed to like Honestly prioritize and revisit how we wanted to approach finances. And every, ever since we've done the monthly reviews and we have less, less contention, less conflict, less like, well, I thought you were going to do this. And I, oh, were we really overspent here? And then there's frustration there. And so by doing that, I feel like it's very proactive so that every month we get to the end of the month and we know where we're at.
Mm-hmm.
And we're setting goals for the next, I'm like, hey, I really want to start saving for this. Or I feel like we need to be setting aside this every month. And so just having those conversations and seeing where we're spending too much here or not enough here.
Yeah.
Um, that has really helped us navigate conflict in an area that we both, you know, found to be really difficult to discuss. Like it's hard to talk about money sometimes, even though we both make it. It's like it was, yeah, it was just hard. Yeah.
Yeah.
So, um, that's really been like super beneficial and I wanna continue being proactive about that.
Yeah.
So that, you know, it doesn't, it feels good now. I don't want it to slip.
Right.
You know, like I'm making it a priority.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's also incredible to hear you talk about it because it's not only the layer of what caused tension, you guys have grown in that.
Yeah.
But you're both also very goal-oriented people.
Very.
So I think it's beautiful to also be like, This is our goal and this is what we're focusing on. And so instead of only, um, removing a tension point, it's almost like it's added a layer of like teamwork.
Exactly.
And we're working together towards this.
Totally.
So I love how that has just completely, um, grown in your relationship.
Yeah. I think that we used to approach, uh, finances as individuals and like our individual goals. And I love that you mentioned like the teamwork piece, 'cause that's definitely how it feels. Um, okay. What do you want more of in 2023?
Oh, um, honestly, I forgot about them. I thought—
no, I'm sorry to stop interrupting you, but I can come up with something.
I want more, um, challenges. I want more— yeah, I, I'm really— hiring coaches this year was a game changer for me, and I'm right now reconsidering getting a coach again. Um, I think I specifically want a business coach, and, um, I'm just— I want more of that, like, grit of that, like, you can give me more, give me 10 more reps, give me 10 more reps, give me 10, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like, in my life, or someone to just speak a little bit harshly into my life in a loving way. Um, so that's what I want more of. I want more, um, adventure. And I think like I'm living in a, what would 5 years down the road Astrid regret not doing as a 28-year-old Astrid? And right now it's a really great season of life that I'm just on my own. I don't have kids, don't have anything. And so it's just like, how can I, if I wanna move somewhere for a few months and let's do it. And like all these different, just dreaming a little bit bigger.
Right.
I want to dream bigger. I want to be challenged more. Um, I want more like health and wellness, peace, just like that everyday like cozy life feeling. Um, and yeah, and I want to— I want more deeper friendships too. Like, I feel like I have those and I feel like I want just a few more.
Yep, 100%. I have that as mine too.
Oh yay!
Um, I want more More yoga and like more cycle syncing and trying to like be more, be more intentional with that. I want to prioritize female friendship in Houston. I have incredible friends, but they're very dispersed and I feel like I'm building like deeper friendships in Houston, but just kind of want to double down on that. And I think sometimes I love Matthew and Alexis' time on the weekends so much.
Mm-hmm.
That I don't always prioritize girl time on the weekends. And I want, I want him to prioritize guy time and I want me to prioritize girl time. So more of that, uh, more video content. We're in day 26 and we've put out a TikTok every single day of December.
I'm so proud of you.
Which me, you know, earlier this year would have found very, very challenging. So I want to do more video content, um, continuing creating on TikTok and then more video content on Instagram. I've started to really see how the platforms are very different. Like now, and I think like when you're starting something new, it's always going to feel awkward and chunky. It's going to take you more time. Editing took me a long time figuring out, okay, what do I want to film? How do I want to film it? But the more you do something, regardless of what you're starting, you will get the hang of it. So I'm, I'm trying to figure out like what the strategy is on TikTok and what the strategy is on Instagram, but Just really leveling up the video content, more journaling, more systems and processing for streamlining and automating aspects of my business. So there I have like a whole section of my 2023 goals under deeper life that's all around like automating certain elements and like billing and reminders and emails and like sending my clients mid— because I work with clients on a 6-month basis. So like mid-6 months, sending them a survey that's automated. Yeah, that's like, okay, how's your experience? And getting that feedback and really trying to automate a lot of my business that sometimes feels very overwhelming to me.
Yes.
And then, um, can more of a nighttime routine— I have a really strong morning routine, but my nighttime routine is like, meh.
Yeah, it's a little weak.
Like whenever we recorded the night— the morning routine one, and we were like into it. And you're like, should we do the nighttime routine next?
And I was like, I have 2 things to add. You're like, you're like, uh, not yet, give me a couple months.
So I want more of a nighttime routine. Uh, what do you want less of?
Um, I want less, um, overworking for sure. I want less of just feeling like I'm not good enough. And I feel like I need to continue working on that, and it's my own mindset. And that— I feel like that's what has held me back from taking a lot of steps. And I've, I've made progress in it, and I'm very proud of it. And I feel like there's still so much more to unlock there.
Why are you doing the Coach Alexa's hands? Or do you have a follow-up question for me? Yeah, I put them together in like a Oh, I mean, we just jumped into me being on a couch type of scenario. Let's explore this. I'm sorry.
Um, I, it's always interesting to like hear you say, cuz my perception of you is like, you're an absolute like superstar, like magic maker. Everything you touch is like intentional. Like you're like, you have the Midas touch. Everything you touch turns to gold. And, um, I, I'm excited to hear you prioritizing seeing that in yourself more. And like, you already know that you have it, but looking through that filter more, not in a way of arrogance, but in a way of like continual confidence, because that will feed into you taking action. Like you said, you know, taking more action on things. Um, so yeah, that's why I reacted that way.
I was like, okay, I just want to speak a little bit of life into you. Oh, thank you.
But it is, it is hard when people say that, oh, Oh, you're great, you're amazing. Like, every— like, even your photography clients are like, you're the best. Like, hearing those things, but then knowing those things is different. And that, that's a journey that we're all on.
For sure.
It's like, you know, compliments and praise and support and encouragement is amazing. And I'm not saying that we don't need it, but at the end of the day, if you don't believe it— and this is my journey I'm on too— is when people say nice things to me, I'm like, Yeah, but if you really knew.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, oh, but if you knew, like, whatever, you know, insert any sort of self-criticism.
Yeah. Or for me, it's like, I want like the comparison, you know? It's like, okay, yeah, you think I'm great, but like at this level, like, that's nice, but like it's not the level that I want to be in. So am I good enough for the level that I want to be in?
Girl, I gotta tell you something off—
I gotta tell you something off the pod that like really triggered that for me. me of like, I will notice my reactions to good things that other people think are good, that I'm like, yeah, but it could be way different.
Yeah.
Or like better. But it's like, what's good for you and what's good for others is just different. And so it's like believing that you're working towards your level of good.
Yes.
And like that, that's a StairMaster.
Yes.
Right.
And so, and that it's great that we are goal is so much higher because we're not just complacent where we're at, but it can't come at the expense of us as we get there. Yeah. And so I feel like that is kind of like the gate to a lot of the things that I want to accomplish. And I dipped into it a little bit this year. Finally, like whenever I quit my job, I thought everyone was going to be like, oh my gosh, you quit your job. And everyone's like, it's about damn time, actually.
Like, it's about damn time.
So I was like shocked by that, and I was like, okay, I finally saw that, and people have seen it in me for a while and I wasn't ready for it. And so what else am I not seeing in myself? And at the same time, this is also very interesting. I've seen how, like, if you ask me about anyone that I'm close to, I can like see— I'm like, they're magic. I'm like, my friends are magical. They're amazing. Like, I think all of my friends are just Incredible.
Yeah.
And if I were to stop and be like, do they feel that way about me? And then like, if I knew that the way that my friends feel about themselves is the way that I feel about me, like, that would break my heart, right? So anyway, this is turning into a whole other podcast, but, um, yeah, I just want to stop doubting myself so much. And, and all of these little— not little, but like all these habits of journaling and morning routine and nighttime routine, all of those have infused layers of mindset that I need to work through and spirituality and all of that that pours back into this bigger thing of I don't believe in myself, I don't think I'm good enough, or I have these preconceived lies in me that I'm like, I'm not gonna make it. So yeah, so I really want to continue focusing on these habits And do less of the toxic ones that drive me to think that I'm not good enough so that I can have those breakthroughs in my life. And I really hope that like 2023, and I'm trying to work towards that, is a year of big breakthroughs. So yes.
What about you?
Yes, queen.
I love that. Um, less drinking and smoking, not cigarettes.
So smoking other things.
Less of that. I feel like I've already been on that journey this year, and I just want to continue paring down. And like, um, I've gone a couple of months this year without drinking, without smoking, and just continuing to experiment with how that plays a role in my life. Is it out of celebration and experiences, or is it out of coping? Just really continuing to dig into that relationship. I actually had this under stop. And I moved it to less of because stop felt— I need to even explore that of like stop drinking and stop smoking completely feels very like, I don't know, it felt really hard. And so I, I still want to be intentional doing less of it, but I, I don't, I don't see it in the stop right now, but maybe it will work itself into the stop category by the end of the year. And I think when you're doing this, Like, as you're listening, if you decide to do this or journal through it, either at your work, if you're a leader, or with your relationship, or even with your personal life, notice those tendencies of what you want to stop doing, but you feel resistance to it. And maybe you just want to do less of it.
Yes.
And give yourself permission, like a hard stop on things that we enjoy or things that bring us, you know, whatever comfort can be really difficult. So maybe just give yourself permission to like do less of it. And then, you know, like, again, we don't have to operate out of extremes.
Yes.
And then I also want to do less reacting before processing.
Yeah.
Um, this like is definitely tied to like external validation or like if someone doesn't respond the way that I hoped they would, or someone tells me news, I immediately jumped to like my reaction and like, I know my face, I'm a very expressive person, so my face says a lot. Even when I don't want it to. I do not have a poker face.
Just wear a mask. Yeah.
And I think that's because I used to wear a mask a lot and then I gave myself permission to take it off. And now I'm like, okay, we can still be expressive and we can still, um, be authentic and also give ourselves room to process things. So yeah, just not always jumping to reacting or, You know, I don't know, just trying to invite more peace into situations where I can feel myself escalating. Um, and being like, okay, let's give ourselves some time to process this. Is this this big of a deal? Um, what inform— what more information do we need to come to a conclusion on this? Like, is this really ours to figure out? Is this ours to make a decision on? Or are we reacting about something that someone else did that has nothing to do with us? Why did that trigger us? Why did that set us off? So really like doing more work there. Um, so yeah, those are, those are our categories for the year. That was fun.
That was so fun.
I have one more question.
Yeah. Yeah.
Since this is our last podcast episode for the year, what is the one thing that you are the most proud of that you worked through this year, or just the one thing that you're the most proud of for 2022?
Dang.
Um, okay.
I would say working through how other people in my life trigger me and like really working on my relationship with myself to know myself well enough to not feed into external drama or external expectations or criticism. or judgment, or even what's going on in the world around us. We live in really interesting times. I still think it's the best time to be alive, but it's also really scary out there sometimes. And, and, um, even like what's happening with the Taliban, you know, removing all women from education, like taking every single woman out of school and, and like out of college and just stripping them away of their opportunities. Like, we live in a really— Devastating time, a beautiful time. And a lot of what happens externally can be very triggering to us. And then we get mad and we get angry and we get, you know, resentful. And then when someone says something in your inner circle that pisses you off, you're like, well, don't you know that this, this, this, and this? So I think this year, um, especially after 2020 and 2021, I tried to hold firm to my values. But also not slip into my values need to be your values. And that's been difficult work to do. Um, my values are not transferable. I'd like to think that they can magnetize people, right? But I don't have to transfer my values onto other people and then get upset when things aren't aligned. And that's like a big thing I've done work on this year. And, um, I'm proud of that.
I'm so proud of you. Yeah. That's really, really hard, especially when it's like, Life or death situations or very heavy situations. Yeah, you're like, why don't you see it?
Uh huh.
Uh huh. And it's not. I realize that's not my. I don't. That's not my mission. It or or else I'm never going to get to where I need to go to have deeper impact if I'm worried about everyone agreeing with me. Like that's just it's exhausting.
Yeah.
And it takes a lot of my energy.
Yeah.
And so it's like we're learning. To pare it down, learning where am I protecting my peace and where am I, um, being an example of my values. So speaking up and then also protecting my peace. So, so beautiful. I had this like 2 days ago.
Well, you were ready for this. I love that.
It's so good. Um, for me, I would say Fully letting go. I think that was something that— oh, it's getting vulnerable here. Um, I think sometimes we go through really heavy things and traumatic things, and we can heal from it in certain layers, but in a way they become a part of us and we don't know life without it. Being a part of us, even though it's heavy, even though it's like all these negative feelings. And so I really worked through a lot of stuff, but this year was that like last heavy layer where I'm like, this can't take up any more of my mindset or my life or my heart anymore. And I need to figure out what it's going to be like without it.
Right.
And fully letting go was extremely hard and painful. And at the same time, within that same year, being able to open up myself in an area which— where I've been the most wounded in.
Mm-hmm.
And in my case, relationships. And so, um, I'm really proud of myself in the sense of— how do I word this? Like, in an area where I've been the most wounded, being able to open myself up again and all the triggers that come with that.
Yeah.
It's not all rose-colored glasses. And so that can be very hard when you're like, this could happen again and the most traumatizing thing can happen again. And so I'm just proud of like the work that I've done to get there and that I didn't just completely shut that door and lock it and leave it like that because it just felt safer. I chose vulnerability and I chose relationships again. So I feel like that's definitely what I'm— one of the things that I'm most proud of from this year, past the relationship, is just the courage it took to do both the letting go and the opening up again. That's what I'm most proud of.
The release.
I'm so proud of you too.
What a beautiful year it's been. A, and a very intentional year of healing and growth and moving forward, you know?
Mm-hmm.
And I think that, and I, I'm, I'm curious how you feel about this. We've both experienced different layers of trauma, big trauma, small trauma. Um, and in no way making light of anyone experiencing trauma, how I've experienced mine is that sometimes it's comforting.
Yes.
I go back to it because it's comfortable.
Yes.
I know what those feelings are. I can, I can, I can latch onto them at any time to justify any kind of behavior and, or any kind of thought process or mindset. And it's like really realizing that that is almost a coping mechanism in and of itself is like really difficult. And it's like watching you release that. And you, you could, you could hold onto that for the rest of your life.
Yeah. Yeah.
You really could. You have every reason to, if you wanted to. And like, you have intentionally moved forward through that, not ever gotten over it. Right. It's not about getting over something, but it's like moving forward through it and figuring out how you want to live your life and how you want to make decisions for you has been really beautiful to witness. And like, you know, letting go of things that are hard, but also not giving them full permission to become a part of our entire identity.
Yes.
Yeah.
Thank you. Thank you for that. Yeah. I think whenever it's almost like it gives us this like reason, right? Like I'm pissed off at the world. Well, this thing happened to me.
Totally.
Wouldn't you be too? You know, it's just like, and yes, there's layers of that, but I think we know when we're pushing it a little too much and it's like your whole holding on to this and it's only hurting you. And I was hurting myself at certain points just because I wasn't ready to fully close that chapter just yet.
Yeah.
Because it felt comfortable and it felt like a big part of me. And so, yeah, so I, I think that no matter what you've experienced, um, making time and space for healing and grieving it and feeling it and Letting it go doesn't negate the fact that it happened to you and that it impacted your life. But you are also like, don't let it take away more from you than it already has.
Right.
So, yes, I'm very grateful for the people in my life and how that's been a big aspect of healing and of loving myself and letting go. And I'm really grateful for you and this podcast. It's been such a great year of great conversations, and it's just been honoring and humbling to just hear how these conversations that we have off the pod have helped people, and just by us putting these on a podcast, right? So I'm excited for what next year is going to hold for us.
Me too. I'm very, very excited. Thank you for being in this community with us and like witnessing growth over 6 months of 2, you know, women who are navigating all of the different aspects of life. And yeah, just thank you for being along this journey with us. We're excited about building things for you in 2023 outside of just the podcast and just continuing to build relationships with you and deeper connections and building resources for you. And yeah, I'm just really excited for what 2023 can hold and I think whenever we started 2022, this wasn't even an idea yet.
No.
And we, I mean, we came up with this in like March, I think. March.
And then launched it in July. And so I think just giving, giving yourself, if you're listening, like imagine where you might be at the end of 2023 that you had no idea, you know, could come to fruition for you. Um, so even if you don't have it all mapped out and you're not sure what you want to Start, stop, continue, or what your goals are. That's okay. Yeah, like you have no idea what the next 12 months has in store for you, but we're so glad that you're here. You matter. Your goals matter, and we're really thankful for you. So we will see you next week.
