In this instructional segment, the yoga teacher guides students through the alignment of Virabhadrasana I (Warrior I) using a bottom‑up approach. Starting with the back foot, the instructor explains that the back foot should be slightly turned toward the front of the mat, while the front foot points straight forward. Even weight distribution across both feet is emphasized. The back leg remains straight, and the front leg is bent so that the front knee aligns directly over (or just behind) the front ankle, avoiding the knee moving past the ankle. Hip positioning is detailed: the right hip is drawn back, the left hip forward, with a rotation that aligns the hips under the torso. The teacher introduces engagement of the mula and uddiyana bandhas as foundational support, noting that a separate video covers bandhas in depth. Finally, the instructor cues lengthening of the spine, relaxation of the shoulders, and raising the arms in line with the torso, completing the pose.
