In this introductory video, Angelica Govaert—also known as Yogalebrity— shares her personal and professional journey to explain who she is and what she offers. She has practiced yoga since 1985 and taught since 2005, previously owning the largest yoga studio in Nevada with three locations and having taught over 50,000 students. Before yoga, she managed 22 retail stores, overseeing 1,500 employees and $20 million in annual revenue, which led her to question why she was working for others. Angelica now focuses on helping yoga teachers turn their passion into a sustainable, full‑time business through online teacher‑training programs and one‑on‑one coaching. She frames yoga as a conduit for happiness and views money as an energy exchange that enables teachers to continue their work. Over 1,000 people have completed her training, many of whom have opened studios, nonprofits, and programs for veterans, at‑risk youth, and other underserved groups. Her ideal client is someone who wants to use yoga to change the world, not just perform advanced asanas, and who is willing to work hard, embrace vulnerability, and invest in their growth. Angelica invites viewers to subscribe, connect on social media, and reach out for personalized coaching.

Hello everyone! My name is Angelica. I'm also known as Yogalebrity, and I wanted to make this video so you could get to know a little bit about me because you might wonder, who is this person? I don't normally make videos about myself because my whole focus is on you. Like, I just want to help you grow your yoga business and help you to spread your love of yoga to the world so that more happy people can be all over this planet. Because to me, yoga is what we teach, right? But we just use that— it's like the conduit that we teach happiness. Everything that we're doing is to just help people have happier, healthy lives. My name is Angelica. I have been teaching yoga since 2005. I've been practicing yoga since 1985, and I'm almost 50. So, so I've been doing this for a hot minute. I previously owned the largest yoga studio in the state of Nevada. I had 3 different studios within that yoga studio, and I have worked with over 50,000 people teaching them yoga. Over 50,000 people have taken my yoga class, which is insane. Like, I never thought that that would be my life. I used to work in retail and I worked for a large retail company. I ran 22 stores for them. I had about 1,500 employees underneath of me and did about $20 million in business for them every year. And then I was like, why am I doing this for somebody else? I could be doing this for me. So you might be thinking that too. And if that's you, then let's keep doing this. Let's, let's come together and join forces. Now I teach online yoga teacher training and I help people who are yoga teachers make it their full-time living so that you can be living your dreams while helping other people because ultimately that's the most satisfying kind of work that you could do. Like obviously I could go back into retail and make a ton more money than I make doing this, but it would not have any satisfaction. I'm not happy unless I'm helping other people. And maybe you're the same way. The biggest problem that I find that people have is that they don't know how to monetize yoga. They have really great hearts and they want to do something really incredible. They want to go out and help a lot of people, but one, maybe they feel guilty because other people have put guilt on them about making money. I don't see money like that. I see money as an energy exchange. It's like someone has something that, they want. They want to get certified to teach yoga, and I have the skills to help you become certified to teach yoga and run a thriving business. And so you give me money because what I want to do is pay my rent or pay for my car payment or my insurance or buy my dog vegan dog food. Like, whatever it is, you're not buying that for me, so you give me money, and then I take that money and I buy the things that I need and then that helps V-Dog make more vegan dog food and help more dogs be vegan. And maybe that's what you want, maybe it's not what you want, but we're exchanging money as an energy, and you've got to think about it that way when you're becoming certified to teach yoga, because you want to keep teaching yoga, right? And the only way you can do that is by acquiring more customers. And that's what I do. I teach people how to become yoga teachers but I teach them how to be successful at it so that they can keep doing it. And over 1,000 people have taken my training both in person and online and become really successful yoga teachers and gone on to open their own yoga studios, to open nonprofits, to help veterans, to help victims of crime, to help people all over the world, children that are in jail, at-risk youth. People have taken my training and gone on and done some really incredible things. I know that it works, and I know that it helps people live their dreams and help other people live their dreams, and then it's just like this whole cascade of dream living that's happening, and it's amazing! The ideal person that is going to want to work with me is someone who really wants to use yoga to change the world. It's not just about doing poses. So if yoga is just about poses for you, great. I'm probably not the teacher for you. There are a lot of really great asana teachers that can teach you how to do handstands and how to do a lotus in your handstand and how to do a backbend in a lotus in your handstand while doing scorpion. I'm not really so concerned about that part of yoga and neither is my client. The people that I like to work with are people who have a true passion for wanting to change other people's lives. People who have a true passion of using what has happened to them in life, how they found yoga and how it helped heal them and then transmitting that information to other people because that's how it worked for me. I had a rough childhood and then I turned that into the fuel that helped me to help lots of women empower themselves and go out there and make businesses for themselves doing something that they love. You see, I don't think that we have to do lots of fancy poses to be successful at yoga. I think that what the Yoga Sutras are telling us is is that what we're using yoga for is to seek enlightenment and to help other people, not to do a headstand. Yoga is teaching us how to help others. I want to work with people who want to grow themselves, who want to challenge themselves, who want to put themselves out there, and they're not afraid of getting a little bit of ridicule to do that. I want to work with people that are hardworking, And if that's you, you're somebody that's going to put your whole heart and your soul into it, then please hit me up because I teach people one-on-one. You're the only person in your class every week with me.
