I've been teaching yoga for 20 years, practicing yoga for 40 years, and thousands of people have graduated from my yoga teacher training. This is how I teach Tadasana Mountain Pose. Spread the toes wide, ground the feet down through the earth, bring your toes and your heels together. We want to evenly distribute the weight on both feet. From here, we're going to rotate that hip under, engage the core by hollowing out from the first and the second rib, really hollow in there. So now we're tight, tight, tight all the way up to here. Drop the shoulders and maybe rotate them back, pulling the scapula down our back. Now that's imaginary, that's not a real thing that you can do. We're imagining it, using metaphor. It's totally okay. Lengthen the spine, bring your arms next to you, look forward as you stand firmly in your Tadasana Mountain Pose.
