Your Intuition Lies | Yoga Skills that Don't Translate

In this episode of the Yoga Liberty podcast, host Angelica Covert (Yoga Liberty) is joined by her assistants Francesca and Tiana to discuss the Empowered Yoga Teachers Course and the upcoming Yoga Teachers Go Online event. The conversation centers on debunking the idea that "signs" or intuition should dictate whether a yoga teacher pursues an online business, emphasizing that decisive action, consistent effort, and a shift from a "perfect" to a "done" mindset are essential. They outline common beginner misconceptions—such as the need for a website, logo, or expensive software like MindBody— and explain the core assets needed to launch online (Instagram profile, offer creation, traffic strategy). The team contrasts building a sustainable online yoga business with chasing viral influencer status, highlighting the importance of a viable offer, traffic generation, and accountability. Real‑world anecdotes illustrate client selection, handling difficult prospects, and the emotional challenges of self‑sabotage and fear. They also address age‑related concerns, the value of believing one deserves to pursue a dream, and the competitive landscape, positioning their program as hands‑on, outcome‑focused, and not a sales funnel. Throughout, the tone is instructional, candid, and motivational, aiming to equip yoga teachers with the mindset and practical steps needed to transition from studio‑based teaching to a profitable online presence.

Welcome to the Yoga Liberty podcast. My name is Angelica Covert, and I'm known as Yoga Liberty on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, um, not on Snapchat, that's just for the kids. Um, but I'm also on TikTok, but they think I'm 16, so I haven't been posting on there forever. Anyhow, all that to say, I'm known as Yoga Liberty. My program and my business is, uh, Yoga Liberty, but we host something called the Empowered Yoga Teachers Course where we help yoga teachers build online empires. Um, and part of that is that, you know, like, I've been running yoga studios for— I ran yoga studios. I sold my studio in 2018, but I ran yoga studios for years. Uh, Tiana was my assistant when I worked at the yoga studio, when I owned the studio. So she's been with me for a very long time. Um, and Francesca is my assistant in the Empowered Yoga Teachers Collective, uh, which we run, um, as part of my online programs around a lot of different online programs. But that's one where we help yoga teachers build their online business because I did it, so why can't you do it? Um, and so, uh, Tiana works with us on that as well. She is our client journey specialist. And so we're all here today to kind of talk to you about, you know, at this full year we've been running Empowered now for a full year. Very exciting. All of 2025 we ran that, that course was ran all year long. Um, last year was 2024 is when it started. Um, and I've been online for 6 years, so I've been, I was teaching my own stuff before I started helping other people. But one of the things that we really have a grasp on now is like, what does it take to be good at this? And what are some of the things that people do that like really make them not good at this? And I think so, you know, we titled this It's Not a Sign, right? And that would be probably one of the first places that we would start this conversation. So wrapping up 2025, it's not a sign. And here's why. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.
It's not a sign. It's not a sign. Although I believe in divine timing, I think we all do believe in divine timing. There is strategy behind everything. So although it feels really great that you came across something like us, uh, it's not a sign. There's a reason, and that's part of what we teach you when you become part of this.
I think to like kind of clear up what we mean when we say it's not a sign, so we'll have people will come, we meet with people either, we have a couple different ways they come into the program. We host an event called Yoga Teachers Go Online, and that's kind of a working title. I don't know if it'll be that title at the end of 2026, but that's what it is right now.
And it's more profitable than perfect, right?
Done is more profitable than perfect. It's a two-day event and we help yoga teachers over that time get together the assets that they need to get started online. And I really envisioned it as like, what are the things that I wish people had already done before they came into the Empowered course? And so we talk about things like, you know, how to make your Instagram profile profile, how to attract people on social media, what are the assets that you really need. Because people will be really confused when they come in and do a call with us. And there was a call the other— today we were reviewing where someone had said like that she'd already signed up for MindBody but she didn't even have a studio. And I was like, oh my God, that's a waste of money. Wasting your money. And then there was somebody else doing that, right? No, I know. I was like, that's crazy. Um, that's like the most expensive software and it's not it. Uh, that's not what I want to use. Um, and then somebody said me yesterday, I was on a call and she did sign up and she was like, my husband's going to help me make a website. And I was like, girl, no, don't. You don't need a website.
You know, like I was going to say, most people just think that they need a website and like a logo.
Oh my God.
Oh my God. I don't know what you need. I literally just dropped in the group chat like a few days ago. I dropped in the group chat a logo and I was like, hey, guess what? I know we've been doing this for 6 years, but I had a logo made.
That should just go to show you already that you don't need to have the things that you think you need to have to get started. Right.
Yeah.
Yeah. So we made that event, Yoga Teachers Go Online, and we'll put the link to that in the show notes. But we made that event because we were like, you know, people really don't have any idea what they need to go online. And so, you know, how could we help them do that? And then kind of the next level of working with us is this Empowered Yoga Teachers project, you know, and you can jump right into working in the Empowered Yoga Teachers. Like, in fact, I encourage it. Whatever, we can help you walk through all that. In the very first week, we work through all the stuff that we would work at the Go Online event. I think like the Go Online event's great if you don't really know us or you've been burned in the past and you want to get into something without spending a lot of money to just know, like, is this legit? Is this for me? You know, and, and unfortunately, like, there's a lot of like— I just saw the ads. We This morning Francesca and I were texting back and forth, like we voice message each other and I saw the ads for our competitor and, you know, no shade, like they were great ads. They were really good.
Yeah, they were.
They were really great ads.
Absolutely no shade. I said the same thing.
But, but the program itself, like I know people who have taken it and it just doesn't have like our goal, like I'm old. Okay. So my goal is like to get people to actually succeed. At the program and to actually have a viable offer and understand how to drive traffic to that offer. And I think that our competitors' goal is to make more wealth for themselves. And while they may care about the people, I'm sure that they are very caring person. All the interactions I've had with that person have been really positive. But I do know people who have taken that program in a year, 2 years later, they still don't even have an online course. That will not be the case in my program.
Yeah. And I feel like what's really important to note, again, no shade, everybody has their own thing with what they're doing. But what I think is important to note between the competitor and how we're different is what I've noticed from people that have tried it and then eventually end up where we are, um, or find us somehow is that the ultimate goal that they've experienced in that sense with the competitor is to be viral. And to do very trendy things and to gain a lot of followers. And that is what, in my opinion, is their definition of success. Whereas how we're different here is that we're actually helping you create a business. Like, we don't want you here forever. There are ways for you to, you know, continue to stay plugged in with us and stuff, and that goes without saying. But like, our whole MO is to help you build like the structure and the foundation of an online business so that you can actually build from there. Like, you can actually progress in your business. Viral is not virality, virality, however you would say that. Uh, it's not the premise of what it is that we're doing. I think that's huge, like, uh, to make sure that's noted.
I think that's like the difference of really becoming an influencer versus actually building.
Yes.
Yes. Because you can be an influencer and have all these followers and be on social media, but be doing nothing with that, right? And not have a business on the back end, right? And not really be helping people on the back end.
So yeah, and that's what I feel like a lot of people come to us for is because they're done with what they're doing and they want something of their own. Yeah. And that's what we're, we're here to help with.
Yeah. And I think, um, you know, it's a difference between like being a yoga teacher at a studio and making pretty good money or whatever. Like, obviously don't make as much money as you do online, but like You know, some people, they're really doing it. They're actually teaching yoga. And then there's these people that are like famous and they're teaching at workshops and going to festivals. And that's just such a small number of people. Like, there's space for you to teach yoga in smaller spaces, you know. Like, I've taught at a few festivals. I wouldn't say that I run the festival circuit, you know. I've taught at a few festivals. I'm really honest, that's a who-you-know thing. Like, you do not get to teach at festivals because you're good at teaching or you have some unique idea. You get to teach at festivals because you know the people who run it and they like you. And that is hands down it. Um, that's it. Like, I've been unliked and I've been liked, and there's no, um, there's no getting into those festivals unless the person that runs it— it's very like good old boys, but it's not boys, it's good old yogis. Um, but kind of to bring it back to what we were talking about, like, that, you know, we'll hear from people— like, I had somebody sign up for the Empowered course this woman was incredible. Like, she would have done super well. She would have done so amazing. She had such a great idea. She was already creating content online. She was qualified. Like, she was like all the things that when you think of like somebody who's perfect to go online, this person was those things. Yeah. And, you know, and most people don't have that. That's a very rare combination of things. And so at the time I was like, you know, I really want to help you. And I had set up a meeting with her and to talk to her about getting everything set up for her avatar because I just— I thought she— like, I don't believe in really going viral, but I thought if anybody could, like, she had the potential to create like a movement. And I got a really bad migraine because we're doing renovations in our house and there's just dust everywhere. And if I have to live with more dust, I'm gonna die. Like, I just woke up this morning and I was like, I'm not mad at Paul, you know, I'm just like so glad he's doing all this work. But there was just dust all over my whole office because we didn't stick a towel under my door. And I'm just like, there's dust on the computer! We're like wiping it down, it was awful. Anyhow, so I get, I'm getting these migraines from like all this stuff in the house, you know, this stuff from 1986, right? So I got this migraine and I wanna say it was like Francesca, you were gonna meet with her or somebody was gonna meet with her instead of me. And, um, she was like, it's a sign, it's a sign that I'm not supposed to do this, I quit. And I was like, what? It's a sign? It is a sign that I got a migraine. Like, there is no sign here, you know? Like, what it is is like people confuse signs and symbols and gut feelings for like neurological change, right? So like when, when brain wires no longer are wired together, they no longer fire, they no longer— they, that breaks. And the process of that breaking for some people is a very like emotional time because you're doing a pattern of behavior that you've done your whole life And then now suddenly you're changing it because in order to be successful at something you've never been successful at before, you literally have to become a different person. You have to see the world differently. You have to act differently. You have to react differently. And I know that because I'm a totally different than a person that I was a year ago or 2 years ago. Right. And so that's the same thing that has to happen for people who come into the Empowered Yoga Teachers Collective. Like, they literally have to change who they are. I'm sorry. Go ahead, Francesca.
No, I was gonna add to that. And I think what's really important to note about that is that it starts with the decision because the decision is what's going to drive the action. The repetitive action is what's going to prove to the psyche that like there's, uh, evidence that this is something that I could do. And then confidence is bred from that. So when you start with like, okay, I'm ready. And then let something so minuscule that has absolutely nothing with the initial decision that you made. Become a sign as to why you need to walk away from it, then you're just self-sabotaging at that point. And that's, that's not gonna help you what you wanna do in the future. The only way that you can make those change and reconnect those neural pathways like you're talking about is starts with the decision to take the action. Cuz nothing will follow if you don't do that, you know?
Yeah. Yeah. That's really key. Thank you for sharing that. Yeah, I think that's really important. That's really important. And you know, the thing is like people be a lot, you know, they try to be like spirit, God, divine, blah, you know, like, but here's the thing, like spirit, God, divine, universe of your own understanding, whatever it is that you believe, put you in front of my ad, put you in front of watching this video today, brought you to the space of somebody who's going to say, hey, listen, like I literally said to that woman, hey, listen, you have the, you have the skills to have a movement. Millions of lives, right? You know, and now that's not the case for everybody. You know, some people are just going to create an online course that's going to tell— teach people how to, you know, relieve their back pain, and that's going to help people doing that. And it's not going to create a big movement, but it is going to, you know, make them, you know, $75,000 a year, or— and it is going to help a lot of people have less back pain, you know. And, and that has value too. But like So sometimes your sign, if you haven't been successful at something, your sign picker might be off. Yeah.
Well, I think some people unfortunately tend to use fear as a sign, right? They get that feeling and they think, and it's that fear because they're making a change, right? This is a new step. It's something big. And they're using that fear as an excuse almost in a way to be like, oh, well, maybe that's a sign, but it's, it's not. Of course it's going to be scary making a change and stepping into that, like, future version of yourself, which is going to have to happen, like you said, for you to get to that next space.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I talk about that on my lives. Um, we have a Facebook group and I, I do trainings in there every Friday. Um, and this topic kind of came up a couple of weeks ago that if you let the fear come in, then you're just taking the biggest step backwards. And you're not allowing that initial thing that was put on your heart. You're not allowing yourself to actually move into that initial space in your heart. And guess what? That's always gonna be there. Because if you are going to continue to choose that fear or continue to use whatever these excuses are, so to speak, then that's just gonna live on your heart. And then you're gonna blink and 30 years are gonna go by and you're gonna wish that you did something with what was on your heart, or it might still be there and you're gonna be like, wow, I never did that. Or whatever that thing is.
That's so big. That's so big. That's so important that you said that, because I feel like the reason I opened the yoga studio on Main Street and moved from the garage was I was standing in that space and I remember looking at it and thinking, all right, this is a lot more money. This is like 3 times as much what I'm paying right now. But here's the thing, when I die, am I gonna wish that I did this? Like I could go back, this could make me bankrupt. I could, it could end everything. I could have to go back to having a job. And I just was like, you know, the thing is though, if I don't do this, when I die, I'm going to wish I had. And that's the thing. I think like, I'm so glad you said that. Cause I, you know, a lot of the women we work with are older. They're like my age, you know, I'm 51. Right. So most of the time we're working with people 35 plus. Um, well, I mean, it's not that we won't work with somebody that's younger, we just you know, or that we wouldn't work with a man. We just normally don't, you know, like it's normally women and they're normally target demographic, you know, like over 45, whatever. Um, I mean, we even have women in their 70s that are creating courses, you know, which is pretty cool. But, um, the thing is like, it's never too late. You know, we, we're like, we mentioned earlier, we're remodeling this house and I was like, I didn't want to buy a house because I felt like I was old. And I felt like I don't have a lot of time left on this earth, whatever. We don't know who had what, what time is left, you know. But I'm like, well, my mom died at 61, so if I'm— if I only live another 10 years, you know, like, should I have spent a couple years of it renovating a house? You know, is that really worth it? And now here we are in the middle of this renovation, and I can tell you that, um, it's not— no, it is, it's worth it.
The Dutch got to you. I was going to say, the Dutch made you change your mind.
But it's the same, it's the same, right? Like, it's like when you get older, you might think, well, it's too late for me.
If you—
we in poker, we used to say, if you got a chip and a chair, you're still in the game, you know? So it's like, if you, if you got like, if you got a, uh, you got a dream and a heart, right? And a golden bat and a, and a block. You know, and a camera phone. That's all you need.
A camera phone.
You got your iPhone.
Oh no, but honestly, just to kind of go back on that, we see that all the time. And it, you know, earlier I was meeting with Angelica and, you know, we were kind of going through some of the messages, right, with, with clients and people. And, you know, we'll ask people, you know, how long have you been thinking about How long have you been thinking about going online? And people will be like, years, months, right? Like all the time. And it's like, man, you've just been sitting for how, like for how long thinking about the same thing, right? So it's gonna continue to live in your heart if you don't take action on it.
Right.
So, yeah, we're gonna go back on that cuz we were literally just seeing that earlier, right? Like how many messages did we see?
Yeah, I was thinking, oh, go ahead. Go ahead.
I was gonna say, I was teaching Tiana how to do the Facebook messages, you know, respond to people, because I'm so far behind on that. And, and like, just like the question I ask people in the beginning is like, how, how long you've been thinking about going online? And people are like, years. Like, some people, you're like, 10 years.
I'm like, literally. Yeah, well, because people get comfortable. Yeah, well, they get comfortable with wherever they are. They get comfortable. And unfortunately, not everybody has that, like, eye-opening moment, like what you described, Angelica, being in the middle of this studio that you knew was going to be something you wanted to do for so long, was going to be more financially, um, demanding, more physically demanding, a lot of time, right? But I think the difference here— oh, this just came to me— the difference here is the is how you prioritize. Because yes, you could have a job that you have to, you have to stay in to fund this dream, right? It doesn't need to be 10 years that you're thinking about it. You could still be wherever you're doing and put some time into what you're building. Yes, there's going to be aspects that are demanding, but what's important is prioritizing it and not looking at it as like, oh, this is just something I'm doing on the side. Like, this is, if this is truly like the dream that you have, this is something that you have been thinking about for 10 years, years and years and years, then act like it. Make the decision.
Yeah.
And show up and prioritize it in a way that is going to change your future instead of like showing up to it as like something that's on the side, because then it's always gonna be something on the side and you're not gonna get where you want in your mind.
Yeah.
That's exactly how our most successful clients end up. Right. Having a perspective about it too when they come in.
Totally. In fact, most of the people that have had really big recent wins lately, you guys know who I'm talking about. Like every single one of them had a perspective shift like this of like, oh wow, this is my business. This is, this is my new priority.
Yeah.
I was looking at, um, somebody, uh, that, that we are talking about and, um, I was looking at her Instagram today and I was like, I don't even teach people to go viral. And she's had like 5 or 6 viral videos in the last, like, few weeks. And I was like, wow, I don't even like— that's not even the goal for me.
But the byproduct—
she was so consistent and so clear with it. It's like she put into practice everything that we said to do. Like, she did not wait. She didn't look at what we were telling her to do as an assignment that she had to complete next. She didn't look at like what we were saying to do next as like, as like she had to wait for us to give her permission to do it next. She literally went through the entire course like she paid in full. She went through the entire course in like the first month. It's usually like 3 months that we take you through the journey. She, in the first month she had her offer ready. She was promoting it and it was out there and she's already making sales.
Yeah.
She's not even done in the course, so she's already making sales. And she was just so consistent, she quit her job. I'm not suggesting that. I'm not suggesting that in any way, but like, that's how serious she was about it. You know, I, I want to come back to like when we were talking about— you, you said something that really like hit me that I never thought of before, that I feel a little bit emotional about. Is that when I was standing in that studio and I was thinking like, "Should I do this or should I not do this?" There was a moment in there when I thought in my mind, "You deserve this." Oh. You deserve the chance to live your dream. You deserve this. And I had never really felt that way before about myself. And I think that's the thing. The big crux of where people need to get to. Like, people need to be like, I deserve to live my dream and at least try. I didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't know if I was going to fail at that studio. I didn't know if it was going to go under and take all my money. I didn't know. But you know what? I felt like I deserved to try and find out. Yeah. And, you know, going online isn't that big of a risk. It's not as big of a risk as starting a yoga studio.
Yeah, there's no overhead, there's no employees, there's no, uh, any of that. I mean, there are things that you do have to invest in. I mean, it's like building a business. I mean, it is building a business, it's just a brick and mortar versus an online space. And in my opinion, an online space is way more cost effective to at least try and do, especially on a smaller investment or smaller savings, I guess.
Budget.
Or a budget. Thank you. That's the word I'm looking for. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Well, can I just say, Angelica, I'm so glad that you did open.
Agreed.
Yeah.
We all wouldn't be here.
I wouldn't know us today if you did not take that chance and have that feeling. Um, and thank you. Thank you for stepping into that.
Thank you.
Liana and I wouldn't know each other. All 3 of us wouldn't know each other. Oh, we wouldn't be yoga teachers. We wouldn't be supporting you, help people live their dreams if you didn't say yes to that.
That's crazy. I didn't know that you all only met because of that.
Yeah.
Yeah. Because she did training with my best friend, which I won't say her name on here, but did training and me and my best friend lived at, in the same apartment at the time. And Tiana would come over to the house and they would study.
To study and practice.
Yeah.
For teacher training. Yeah. And we were there. That's how I found out about the studio.
Wait, you were You were, you were in the same teacher training with, um, Liz. She does the anatomy portion of the yoga teacher training. She's on my website. Okay, fine, we know who she is. Um, she did— she, she's like— so you and Liz met in that teacher training, Tiana?
Yeah. Oh wow.
Yeah, that's crazy. You have this like whole big connection because of that. And then how did you meet everybody else? Else, like the other people in your circle?
What do you mean?
It's everybody else.
Liz, Francesca, and then the one in Boise we met up, which I will not—
the one in Boise. Yeah, the one in Boise. So, oh, that goes farther back, but just very shortly, her and I lived in California. We met going—
she's connected to you. Okay. All right. So that's not my connection. Okay.
No, no, no, no, no. But we all lived together and Tiana would come to this house and that's how I don't know if you met everybody else before you came to the house, or was it just you and Liz first?
Uh, just me and Liz first.
Okay. So yeah. So that's how it was.
Yeah.
Tiana would be like, there's this group of us and they, we get together and we have vegan dinner every week. And I was like, I wanna, I was like, I wanna go. But I never said that because I was like, you can't say that. You can't tell a client that you wanna go to their house and have dinner.
Oh no, I feel bad.
It's not your fault. I was just being like, professional.
That place is still open, we can go.
Okay, it's good.
They still make a mean tofu.
Yeah. So wait, is it the big— yes. Okay.
Yeah, you know, you know.
Yeah, it is still open.
Yeah. So, you know, that's the thing too, is that like people don't understand the connection and the reach that you have when you're online is much bigger than what you have when you own a space. Like, you know, both of these women are here today because I owned space. But in the short period of time that I've been online versus when I owned the studio, like, it's, it's way more people. Like, it's literally people I'll never meet just because I created content. Like, people give me a hard time in my, in my ads every once in a while, especially Facebook's really bad. Instagram not so bad, but Facebook— I was showing Tiana some of them this morning. They're brutal. Oh my gosh, this lady this morning, she was like, you're, you're too fat to be a yoga teacher. You're not very healthy. But I guess if you're staying at home with your dog, I would like to do what you're doing. And I was like, you know what? I typed back. I was like, I think we've established that I'm not the right person to help you. So you go find someone else.
Yeah.
But Shoot, what was it? Oh, um, the people. So the thing is, so people say like, oh, you know, you don't, um, you make money online and it costs money. Well, yeah, it costs money. It costs money. It costs money for me to run a business, for to pay both of you to— they're both being paid to be here today. They both get paid to do their jobs. They go both get paid to help people. I'm helping— I have 5, 6 people who work for me, you know, and I help them pay their bills. That's how it works.
Works.
You pay me, I pay them, right? I pay myself. It's all part of the circle. But here's the thing, this is free. Now, whether you're listening to this on the podcast or you're watching this on YouTube or wherever you saw an intro to it on Instagram, all that content I create, that's free. That is a value to you whether you work with us or not, and you didn't have to pay a dime for that. So I am not going to be gaslit about charging for my my services or my course because someone thinks that you should take some kind of vow of poverty because you taught exercise. Listen, here's the thing. If y'all don't know, go back to the episode where I talk about Niels Buk and the origin of the yoga poses and how they're just gymnastics. There was, there was 15 yoga poses in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Everything else is philosophy. That is not what we teach in the United States. We teach Fitness, that is gymnastics. I can charge for that. Uh, I could also charge for spiritual awakenings, to be totally honest, if I wanted to. You want to go down to Costa Rica and take ayahuasca? Somebody going to charge you for that. Okay, that's it. Don't do that, by the way.
But no, we don't condone that. But I will say that this brings me back to another Facebook Live that I had a couple weeks ago, maybe even like a month or two ago now. But it just came to me. And my topic in that was changing your mindset from being an employee to an employer. And that kind of touches back on what I was talking about as far as intention and prioritization, because you will never understand what Angelica just said. You, listener, will never understand what she said until you change your mindset, because everybody could want to, oh, I want to make $10,000 a month, I want to be online, I want to do this. But if you're stuck in the mindset of an employee and you don't understand what it takes to build a business to a level of production in that way, then you will never be able to, to move forward. You have to understand that you have to step into a completely different mindset, different person, different way of looking at things, different prioritization, everything. For you to understand what that entails so that you can be successful because it's absolutely possible. But it all starts here. It starts with the action you take, the decision you make, and how you approach it in your mind.
Well, the action you take is what makes your idea or your thought an actionable or a tangible goal. If you're not taking action on it, it's just a thought. All you have are thoughts and ideas.
Amen.
They're not goals.
And that's how you get stuck thinking about it for 10 years. It's the truth.
And then you come across our ad.
Yeah, right?
But it's the truth, seriously. You know, people have all these great ideas and thoughts, right? But if you're not doing anything with it, that's all it is.
Thoughts and prayers. Thoughts and prayers, friends. Thoughts and prayers. Thoughts and prayers that you'll get your shit together in 2026 and finally build your online course.
New year, new you.
Or you could start now.
Yeah. 2026, you can start right now.
Yoga Teachers Online, that's coming up. Just look at the show notes to be part of it.
Online event coming up January 15th and 16th. Yoga Teachers Go Online event. Of course, we'll always meet with people about Empowered. We do one-on-one meetings with that. You're gonna meet not with a salesperson, you're gonna meet with somebody from my team or someone who actually took my program and built an offer, and they're going to listen to what it is that you want to create. And if it's a good fit, we'll talk about like what it is that we do and then we'll offer to have you come on board if we think you're going to have a viable offer and that you'd be successful at it. We're not going to lie to you. We don't bullshit anybody. We don't do like heavy hardcore sales. Either you're ready to make a change in your life and step up or you're not. You know, and I've said to people before, like, I don't think you're ready for this. I've said to people before, I don't think you're a good fit. We had somebody the other day who was not nice to Francesca. Oh yeah, she had booked a time with Francesca. She sent an email and was like, I will not be meeting you on Zoom. I am busy and important and I have— I run a business and I can't. I've been teaching yoga for 20, 20 years and I I don't, um, I don't know where I'm gonna be. I can't be on Zoom, so I need you to call me. And we don't do it that way because we like to look at people's face. We're like, the whole course we're gonna be in your face. We're gonna be holding you accountable. We're going to be with you. If you don't want to get on a Zoom call with me now, you don't want to— you don't want to work with me. Yeah, you're gonna be on Zoom more than just that call.
Yeah, right.
So, so I emailed— so Francesca's like, what do I do with this, right? So she emails the lady back and She's like, oh, you know, we, we like to meet with everybody. We're hands-on. You know, we, we really want to make sure that you have a viable offer. I can't even remember what you said.
It was basically like that. And then I just said, you know, if today is not a good day, that's totally fine. Let's reschedule when you have, um, you have a full hour that you can give me your undivided attention because that's exactly what we promised to you on these calls. Because I didn't want her to think that it was like only you needed to be available. No, like when you book a call with us, You have an entire hour of undivided attention from me, and it should be the same so that we can both figure out if this is the next best decision for us both. That's essentially what I said.
That's a whole hour of my life. Do you know how much an hour of my life means? So like when someone doesn't show up to a call that they've booked, like you just stole an hour of my life. Like somebody this weekend rescheduled for Sunday, which isn't normally a time that I take calls, but But I took this call for her on a reschedule, and not only did she not show, but when I texted her and I was like, "Hey, you know, are we still good to go in a couple hours?" She never even messaged me back to say no, she wasn't good to go. Like, we're human beings, you know what I mean? Like, just, you don't want to do it, that's cool. Just say that. Don't waste an hour of my life because I really am here to show up for you, and we really are here to show up for you. Anyhow. Just, uh, the lady responded back, don't patronize me. And Francesca, I've been teaching yoga for 20 years, and starts like talking about all how great she is. And Francesca just forwarded me the message, she's like, girl, what do I do? And I let that woman know that we didn't want to work with her. Um, and she messaged me back and she was like, you should just know you lost a client and a fan. And I was I didn't message back because all people want when they have that kind of response is the power. They want to have the last word. They want to feel like they're the ones that are in control. They want to have the power. So I just— oh, that was the other thing she said. I'm ready to go online next week.
Oh yeah. And she said, if you're not ready, uh, or no, if you won't call me, then I'll just find someone else who will help me because I'm ready to do it now. And it was almost like a bait. It felt like a bait. You know, of like, well, if you want my money. And it's like, that is probably the biggest testament as to like how we're not all about the money. Like, the investment goes without saying. Like you said, you have a business, you have people you have to pay for so they can pay their bills. But at the end of the day, that's not the only reason why we're here. And I'm sorry, but like, obviously we'd let you go because you just not a good fit. Yeah.
And there are people, there are plenty of people out there that will just take your money.
There are. My competitor will happily take your money and give you nothing in return that is really of value, but a lot of inspiring meetings. You know, I'm more about we're actually going to get you there. But that— the thing is, I let her know, like, we don't work with people who have unrealistic expectations. You will not realistically go online next week. That is not realistic. You know, we'll get you there in 3 months, but we are not going to get you there in 1 week, you know.
Yeah.
And some people can't even get there in 3 months. It depends on you, because that's what we're talking about today really, is it's your mindset, right? If you're constantly putting like doors in your own way, if you're constantly making it harder on yourself, you won't get there maybe ever. There was somebody that I was talking to Tiana about today who, um, She ended up dropping out and it really bummed me out because she was a single mom. She wanted to buy a house and I was like, this is the way, girl, you know, pay your mortgage off. I paid off a third of my house in one year with online money. Like you can do this. This is amazing. And she just consistently got in her own way. She rescheduled her one-on-one meetings. She would not have anything prepared. She wouldn't create the content that we asked her to. She like consistently over time just made it really hard on herself to be successful. And it was, it was self-sabotage just over and over. And it's really, really hard to watch that. And I was telling Tiana this morning that I was like feeling so bad that these people hadn't had the success that I wanted them to have. And then I realized it was, they're probably thinking in their mind, I can't, I wish I had done this and I did this wrong. And you know, like You can't get in your own way. It's not a sign. Not everything is a sign. It's a sign that God wants you to work hard, or your idea, spirit, divine, universe. Like, I'm gonna tell you right now, it's not easy. This is a shit ton of work. It's not going to happen very quickly. It's not gonna happen next week. There's gonna be a lot of time between now and when you're good at creating content online. There's going to be a lot of time between now and when you can create an offer that people actually want to purchase from you, right? You can get there way faster by hiring someone like us. Way faster. Light years faster, right? You go from just thinking about it— like, I used to be just thinking about it in 2012 when I would wake up in the morning and watch Keenan McGregor and Yoga with Adriene. And I used to remember thinking like, I can't believe everybody likes Yoga with Adriene. I'm such a better teacher than her. I remember thinking that. And you know, here's the thing that I realize now as someone who has successful online offers. The difference between me and Adriene back then was that Adriene did the work. Adriene put out a video every single day on YouTube for years. Years. Do you know what kind of level of dedication that takes? Adriene deserves all of the wealth and happiness and success that she has. She did the work. She did the work. And she's a perfect example, like, bless her heart, she's for, um, some people, but you know, and I know if you've taken a class with Yoga with Adriene, she never shuts up. And those are not like the best yoga classes on the planet, but you know what? She did the work. She did the work. So you don't have to be the best yoga teacher to be successful. You just have to do the work. Can you be Yoga with Adriene? Absolutely not. No one will ever be able to reach that level of echelon because she started so long ago. She was so consistent and she did all the work before anyone else was, right? We'll never be that. But can we be something else that makes good money for us and helps a lot of people? Absolutely. Absolutely. You can do that.
Anyhow, I think— I think another piece to that is that When you are wanting to step into something or something is put on your heart, uh, that's going to be new for you, I think what's important to know— and I know I'm saying that a lot, but truly what's important to know is that you're never going— if you look back at what you're— what you've done in your life, you've never been ready for anything. So let's say whoever's listening, if you're If you just got married, you probably weren't ready to be engaged and probably had a whole moment of like, oh my gosh, this is happening, right? I'm gonna have a person for the rest of my life. Having babies, you probably were planning for it. And then the moment that it actually happened, it like hit you like, oh my God, I'm not ready. Right? I have like, all my friends have babies and they feel like teen moms and they're not, you know, like my point in saying all of this, like you start a new job, you don't feel ready. Even when you're going through training, you're like, oh, can I do this? You know, you're never going to be ready for anything in your whole entire life. Never, ever, ever, ever. You won't. But what you can prep your mind for is being the person that you want to be, the walking towards that thing that's in your heart and in your spirit, and just trusting that what's being held in front of you is only going to support you along the way. And I think that's a big part of what it is that we do, because we're not telling you that it's going to be fast. We're not telling you it's going to be easy. But what we can promise you is that it's going to be exciting. It's— you're gonna have the support behind you, you're gonna have accountability, and at the end of 3 months, you're going to launch a business that you are going to be so proud of. I digress.
I don't think— I don't, I don't think anyone else could say it better. I think that's a great spot to end the show. Okay, so much for listening, everybody. Thank you for joining us.
