In this monologue, TikTok Shop affiliate Annamaria Prideaux shares the tactics that have helped her earn over $300,000 in commissions since January. She argues that the only sensible way to choose a product is to pick one that is already going viral, ideally ranking in the top 10‑20 best‑selling items on TikTok Shop. She limits herself to a handful of such products at a time, pouring all creative energy into each until it gains traction. For products that are not clearly viral, she recommends a strict testing window: after roughly 15 high‑quality, top‑of‑funnel posts with no sales, the affiliate should abandon the product unless they are personally passionate about it. The overall message is to avoid decision fatigue by focusing on proven, high‑volume items, to concentrate effort on a few top performers, and to use a clear posting threshold as a signal for when to cut losses.

I've made over $300,000 of profit with TikTok Shop Commission since January of this year, so I wanted to come on here and share some insight onto a very commonly asked question that I get, which is how long to test a product or how long to post for a product until you should fully boycott it and move on to the next. And honestly, there's a lot of variables to this, and I'm gonna kind of walk through as much as I can while keeping this very simple and short at the same time and easy to consume. Full transparency, only reason I would ever pick a product to begin with is if it's going viral. That should just eliminate so many options for you. And if you're a newer affiliate and you're kind of open to testing whatever, then why would you waste all of your creative energy on posting for a brand that's not going viral, doesn't have ad spend, no other affiliates are pushing it. So clearly they don't have their strategy founded because you're gonna be the only brute force trying to go viral with it. It's gonna be so much harder where it's almost like a free layup. If a product is already going viral because it's polarizing on the internet and you can make good content for it and have a piece of that pie, eliminates decision fatigue.
Don't make it harder on yourself. See what's working for other people and what other people are going viral with, which by the way, there's so much in every single niche. There's so many products always going viral. That kind of piggybacks into my next take of like how much to test it. This is my opinion. If I'm choosing a product as an affiliate, I'm going to see like, wow, okay, there's like 4 or 5 affiliates right now that are going viral with this and making a lot of obviously commission with it. So in my mind, I'm not gonna stop until I get to that point. If I see it working for someone else, that's how my mentality is. It's I don't care what it will take. I'm not going to stop posting for that product until it goes viral. And if some of you guys follow my TikTok Shop accounts, you know that I'm a very limited product affiliate. I only post for like a few products at one time because if that's going viral, I am putting all of my energy, all my effort into that product because it's probably one of the top 10 top-selling products in the entire TikTok Shop industry. So with that in mind, if you wanted to kind of go at it like I do, you should pick a product that's like top 10, top 20 best-selling. Other people are going viral with it right now. And honestly not stop until your content is at the level where it could start to get traction, because you know it's not the product, you know that it's your con— you're just saving yourself so much guessing. But if you're choosing a product that's not viral, per se, you just really feel passionately about it, then it's different. Then you shouldn't put as much pressure on yourself to be making tons of money with it or go super viral with it, because TikTok kind of just favors top products as is. So it's a little bit harder to go viral with the middle ground products or the less known products. So in that case, if you just love the product, post for it, why not? But if you're posting for it to see if you can make it work, don't do it for that long. Honestly, like 15 posts. Guys, obviously variables like is your content actually good are at play. If you're posting 15 lip-syncing song videos with the product linked, I'm not gonna count that. I'm talking 15 high-quality top-of-funnel content and you're not seeing any sales. I would ditch the product unless you're just like that passionate about it. In my opinion, not worth your creative energy. I'm just gonna kind of leave it at that.
