STOP Direct Mail Fail: How to Make Your Mail Stand Out! #shorts

Most direct mail to land investors gets ignored because it all looks the same. Handwritten addresses, unique stamps, and personalized messages that offer real value beat generic envelopes and cookie-cutter offers like "close in 2-3 weeks."

One of the biggest reasons why direct mail is dying is because everyone is doing the same thing. And when everyone is sending out the same generic mailer with the same envelope, the same copywriting in it, and even a very similar purchase agreement, even similar pricing, sellers are going to be turned off by that. And I tell people all the time, think of it as advertisements. People are so tired of the same ads being played over and over. People are politically fatigued as well. People are just tired of hearing about politics. And I think it's the same when it comes to land flipping and us sending direct mail campaigns. So if we're all doing the same thing, we're not standing out as business owners and we're not really providing any uniqueness or value. And that really defeats the whole purpose of being a small business owner, in my opinion. So just to show you a quick example, this is one of the envelopes that most people preach in terms of sending out with the direct mail campaigns. I want you to ask yourself, is that something that really piques your interest and feels like you're going to open it It feels more like a credit card statement, in my opinion. So what I always encourage people to really think about is, one, the mail pieces that you receive, what catches your attention? And when you open it, whatever service or whatever it is that they're trying to pitch to you, is it actually speaking directly to you, or is it just a bunch of nonsense? You rip it up and throw it to the trash. Are you going to open up something like this that seems a little bit more personalized? And what I mean by this is it would be handwritten, for example, or you can find something to make it a little bit more unique. You can have a unique stamp on here. There's Plenty of people that do things like dog stickers, or they'll find like a unique stamp. Like some people can make it very patriotic, which is why we have the American flag here, because a lot of landowners are conservative. So like a lot of unique things that you could think about. And then you also have to make sure the messaging on the inside does actually make sense. So for example, here we take a quick look at this one and I'll go ahead and hold it up near the camera. If you have something that's really generic like this, is this something that's going to be compelling for someone to you know, give you a call or even scan the QR code? Most likely not, right? So this is one of the biggest challenges that we're seeing as land investors is we need to ask ourselves, what type of messaging or let me backtrack, what type of envelope do we want to send? Will it increase the open rate? And then also when we have them open the letter, is it speaking directly to them? Or is it just a generic mailer saying we can close within 2 to 3 weeks, or sending a ranged offer with 40 to 50% perceived market value offer? The double-closed ranged offer? Or is there any type of value that we're able to provide here? And I think this is the biggest challenge that we're seeing. And this is the one of the things that I'm going through as a land investor is, where can I find ways to add more value? And I think when we're sending direct mail like this, with the generic envelopes, I think we're just missing the boat, in my opinion. And I think that's why direct mail is failing. So if you found this helpful, please like and subscribe to this channel. I have another really good video breaking down Alex Hormozi talking about why direct mail response marketing, which is something like this, that is fading quite quickly, or it's not seeing the results and how to add value to that. So again, hopefully you found this video helpful, and I'll see you in the next one.
