I sat through a presentation this week and every 5 minutes they kept saying, "Does that make sense? Does that make sense?" That has to be one of my biggest pet peeves when I'm in an audience. What, do you think I'm not smart enough to keep up? Now, you do want to ensure they're still with you, but asking "Does that make sense?" just makes them feel dumb. Try closing a section with something else. "Any questions?" I'm just going to pause and check in here. Any reactions that anyone wants to share? Great. Let's move on. It's that simple. Make your audience feel good and they'll like you that much more. Give it a try.
