Hi, welcome back to the Be Complete Explore the Store Supermarket Series. We've taken our tour on the road and today we're at Duffield, which is a southern New Jersey farmers market. From August 7th to August 13th is National Farmers Market Awareness Week and the perfect time to visit a local farmers market in your area. I want to ask you a question. What do you think the number 1 and number 2 most commonly consumed vegetables are in our country? Think about that. If you said potatoes is number 1 and tomatoes is number 2, you are correct. And not Not only are tomatoes delicious vegetable, they're technically a fruit. You may have heard of lycopene, which is found in red fruits and vegetables. Lycopene is an antioxidant that helps to protect us from cancer, heart disease, and age-related eye disorders. Not only are tomatoes packed with antioxidants, they're also packed with vitamin C. And your whole family will enjoy them. I have a healthy recipe for you. It's really simple. All you need to do is cook up your favorite high-protein or whole wheat pasta and then strain it. Dice up beautiful fresh organic tomatoes with some basil, some garlic, a little splash of olive oil, and white beans, and then combine that mixture. Not only is that meal simple, it's fast, it's well-balanced, and your whole family will enjoy it.
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I'm an intern here at Be Complete. As you can see here at Duffield's Farm, there's an abundance of peaches. Did you guys know that a peach has less than 70 calories? A peach has more power to it than just just being a part of a cobbler. Peaches are a great source of fiber, which is good for heart health, digestion, and satiety. Peaches are also a good source for vitamins A and C. As you can see, the summer fruit is very versatile. It's great in salads, for pairing with meats, in cocktails, and of course desserts. I have a healthy and delicious tip for you guys today. The next time you guys are craving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, try swapping the jelly for sliced peaches. Fresh peaches and peanut butter are a great way of lowering calories and added sugars that you would get in regular jelly. For more information about Duffield's Farms, visit www.duffieldsfarms.com. And if you enjoyed this video, I encourage you to share it with your colleagues, your family, and your friends. And until next time, be educated, be inspired, and be complete.
