Welcome back to the Be Complete Explore the Store video series. In honor of National Nutrition Month, we're revamping our nutrition and reiterating one of our most important nutritional messages that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Because remember, life is too short to skip out on dessert. It's okay to have it every once in a while. Today we're talking about snacking. Sometimes there just isn't enough time to put something together and you need something quick, grab-and-go on the way out the door. Do you ever walk down the snack aisle and feel completely lost in the options? It can be a little overwhelming trying to find a quick, healthy snack in the midst of all the options. Be Complete recommends these Belvita Soft Baked Cookies. These are a better-for-you option in that they're whole grain, lower in sugar, and an excellent source of fiber. Fiber is something that helps you feel fuller longer and will keep you satisfied between meals. These are a good option as a quick snack with a piece of fruit or string cheese, and, or also as a dessert option occasionally. Only once in a while. We also recommend these whole grain crackers from Lance. They offer cheddar cheese, and also a better free option would be the whole grain cracker with peanut butter. This would give you protein and some healthy fats in the peanut butter and a good source of fiber. Try pairing these also with a piece of fruit on the way out the door, and you're good to go. If you have 5 minutes or 10 minutes on a weekend or a weeknight, try putting together your own trail mix. This can be as easy as whole grain, whole natural almonds or walnuts, dehydrated fruit, and even some edamame. This will keep you feeling energized and full in between meals. If you have a nut butter, you can pair this with sliced apples or veggies. Remember, peanut butter serving size is only the size of your thumb, so be sure to put this in the smaller container, and your veggies or fruit should go in the larger container. Same goes for a bean dip or a hummus. If nothing else, when choosing a healthy snack, be sure to look for whole grains that top the ingredient list. Sugar should be at least 5 ingredients down on the list, 3 grams or more of fiber, and 200 calories or less. We could go on and on today about snacking, but be sure to take these tips with you as a guide during your grocery shopping trip. If you like this video, please share with your colleagues and friends. Next time, we're going to be back talking about stress reduction and potatoes. Until next time, be educated, be inspired, be complete.
