Easy Implementation To Upgrade Your Company's Communication

A short YouTube video (hosted by Richard Kohberger, "the blue collar nerd") advocating for a centralized team communication platform to quickly improve company-wide coordination. The speaker describes problems that arise when office and field staff are disconnected, recommends Slack (channels, mobile/desktop, free plan) as an easy-to-implement hub that also enables many automations, and urges viewers to adopt a team chat and subscribe to the channel.
What's going on, everybody? It's Richard Kohberger here, the blue collar nerd. And in this video I'm going to be telling you about one simple thing that I think any company can implement and benefit from basically overnight. And that is a centralized communication platform. So walk into any company ever in the history of time, pick some random person, grab them by the shoulders and say, what's one thing that can be improved here? And they'll all tell you the same thing nine times out of ten. Communication. Communication is major. And communication is difficult in a home search services company when everybody is spread out. You've got the office who's in one centralized location and then you've got the field staff who's wherever. And it gets hard to keep everybody on the same page. And those people who work out in the field start to feel like if they don't come back to the office and have a lot of meetings and things, they start to feel like the whole company is just them. Because from their perspective, it is they get up, they dispatch from home, they go out, they come home, they never see anybody else in the company. So a centralized communication platform really cleans things up, helps give streamlined communication throughout the company. I personally use Slack, I love Slack. And what Slack does is gives you one place. There's a mobile app and there's a desktop version and it separates into channels. So I have for example, a service department channel, an installation channel, an office channel. By default you're going to have a general and a random channel and those are both company wide. So anything you send to those channels is going to go out to everybody. Then you can make new channels and you can invite people and you can have buckets where you can have different conversations. And it just helps so so much. Guys, if you're still using something like group texts to try and keep the whole team informed, this is so much better and it just makes things so much easier. And it is the baseline, it is the home, the hub for I would say 90% of my automations. So I've built so many great automations that all go through Slack. Provide information to people automatically, remind them to do things automatically, inform them of what's already done automatically so that they know that it's been taken care of. It's a great place to get started if you're interested in upping your technology game in your company at all. So if you don't have a centralized communication platform such as Slack, get on it. It's easy and you can do it. Right now, Slack has a free plan and it's great. I mean it. Really. You don't sacrifice much. I was on that free plan for years before I ended up getting on a paid tier. And you get everything you need for free. I use sl. I'm not associated with them or anything. There's other options. I think Google has one Google Chat Hangouts or something like that. So if you just look around for team chats, there's options out there. I use Slack. I love Slack. And they have a free plan. So if you don't have one, better get on it. Better get on that. It's real easy. Hey, thanks for watching. If you liked the video, be sure to click that like button and subscribe. That just helps the YouTube algorithms know that it should show this video to other people like you. Thank you, Sam.
